Am I insane? I want to listen to live local radio on my PC and there doesn't seem to be any product that does this? Most google searches just recommend you listen to inferior internet radio. I want the actual live broadcasts, not time-delayed garbage that has ads overlayed on top of it. I also want to do this for TV. Is OTA media dead? I just want to listen to some "live" Christmas music from a local station or some talk radio.

Just stream their station from their website

It's extremely easy, just buy the rtl blog sdr dongle and plug it into your pc, then install the receiving software of you choice.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Why exactly do you want to listen to the radio through the computer rather than a radio? Do you just want to hear the radio through your speakers or headphones at the same time as other sound playing from the computer itself? If that's what you want then the simplest thing to do would definitely be to plug a regular radio into your computer's line input and then just set the line in to be audible through your normal audio output.

>>103296772 beat me to it. theyre like 30 bucks plus a couple more for an antenna. probably the best thing for you

> I also want to do this for TV
the rtl-sdr is powered by a tv tuner chip, however those chips are all dvb-t afaik so depending on your location (outside of europe) is may be useless.

This is pretty fucking kino. Thanks.

Just buy a tecsun r9012, they are cheap and don't require you to use your computer.

we already had this thread and you got your answers faggot

Small annoyance with using an RTL-SDR for commercial radio is you can only connect one antenna at a time, and AM and FM really require different antenna types for decent reception.

Can't you just get a radio with a headphone jack, route that to the light blue Line In on your motherboard via male-to-male AUX, then download a virtual audio cable that will route your in to out? Someone tell me if this is wrong for some reason.
