ooooooo 8bitdo keyboard
>>103386967If any of the colors turn out even slightly wrong it's ruined. My take: don't even think of buying this until you've seen a real-world unit. Of course it looks perfect in renders...
>>103386967don't buy the keychron k8 the legs broke week 2 and it doesn't work under wayland
>using the modern circular xbox logo
>>103387370Probably meddling from microsoft to make them use the modern logo.
done on my overdrive gaming membrane keyboard from poundlandhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynwk_DZx8jwHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>103387158how tf did you break the legs smashing it?
>>103387955he was using boba u4t's, the force required to overcome the tactile bump caused excessive wear and tear on the Keychron's fragile little legs
can anyone answer this; >>103388932
>>103388940Unlikely. It should have the same protections as any modern charging circuit.
nth for lots of sublegends
post your keyboard and please excuse my dope swag
is 8bitdo ever going to do an ISO version?
I got some thick orings and I like them. They silence the downpress and eliminate the harsh feeling of plastic-on-plastic impact.Compared to the best silents (imo), the TTC Frozen, which are very commonly reviewed as not mushy at all, they are almost as silent and feel practically the same if not a little more rigid.
>>103387900what's your point
>>103389029What keycap set is this?
aliexpress and amazon are taking too damn long for my shit to get here
>>103393555didn't some fagazon workers go on "strike" for a few days? maybe that's impacting your stuff, IDK
>>103393530KAM Wraith
>>103386967do iso layouts already you retards reeeee
>>103389849Here's my foamless modded V6 Max (gasket mods) with fast-shining swagkeys dolch and pbtfans dolch window caps that don't quite matchJust put some Tecsee Sunny-side Up switches in it today, they sound good imo.
>>103393913and here's the reason for the window caps
>switched to Box Royal's from rubber dome
>>103394058Hope you're ready for when the royals start clicking.
How does this make any sense? Does the lack of in-switch contacts really make that big of a difference in the force curve for what would otherwise be a linear switch without the clickbar?
>>103394554>clickingwhat do you mean with this

Looking for a good 75% mac compatible board, preferably low profile as I need to carry it around a lot, mainly for dev work.I've been looking at the nuphy air75 v2. Is there anything better in this price range?
>>103395467I know of the Lofree Flow84, it's a 75% but it's a little bit pricier than the air75 v2. It does not have height adjustment though IIRC, and the chassis is metal, so it'd be a little heavier as well. The air75 v2 is probably a solid choice.
>>103394916There's gotta be some other difference than just the lack of contact leaves.
Some of the keys on my mechanical keyboard have died. If I press hard enough, they work sometimes. What do? It's some cooler master keyboard with cherry MX reds.
>>103396725I was just assuming it would be the same exact internals minus the contacts, considering it shares the same name, and even the listed specs I think, but apparently not. These fags also charge waaay too much for their stuff, so I don't even feel like ordering a few to test, when I could get enough switches for a whole 'nother board for the same price.
>>103396828Buy 10 cherry red switches on aliexpress for $5. desolder and remove the old switches that are failing. insert the new switches and solder the two pins. The hardest part of the whole thing is opening the case, probably. I will never buy a keyboard without screws after the one time I cleaned a Corsair keyboard.
V1 with some pro milk yellows I got for cheap.
>>103391976you're wasting your moneymembrane is better, i have the times to prove it
>>103398041better for what
>>103397740Bru, I've done soldering before unsuccessfully lol. Might have to give it a try this time.
>>103398112things
>>103397942too many accents
there are 10000 meme linear switches but it feels like if you don't count spring weight there's really only 5 or 6 truly different linear switches
>>103399372I roll my eyes anymore when I get an ad for a new switch type in stock on KPRepublic or other stores and it's a fucking linear, zero variation.
>>103399372There could definitely be less switches that are just a recolor of another switch.
>>103398602You are rightI replaced all with black but arrows which I seem to be missing
>>103400115As long as the accents are done sparingly, and express ONE idea, I think they're ok. Arrow keys is not as conventional as enter/esc, but it's excusable in some colors. Maybe not in more 'executive' or urgent colors like red, which are expressive of enter/esc. But in white against black the contrast merely suggests an alternate kind of functionality, yin and yang, which can be appropriate to the arrows I think
Brehs, is aula f87 with leobog gold any good? I think my cooler master with cherry mx red has started dying and I want something to replace it. Red keys would be preferable, but I'm willing to try others as well. I don't like blues too much. I've had kahil blue? IDK it took too much effort to type and sounds awful.
>>103401168The other options from that shop are keychron k8, ducky one, rk r87 and rk m87 and hello ganss. I want some thing like my cooler master that will last for a long time, I think the cooler master lasted for 5 to 6 years with cleaning like once or twice a year. Longevity would also be nice. Looking for TKL keyboards for programming if that matters. Danke.
>>103401168If you just want a normal ass cherry mx red keyboard get a leopold. If you want to get fancier than that go hall effect.
>>103401226Out of those options the Keychron would be your best bet, I’m guessing you have a voucher for this specific store or something? The Aula you mentioned can probably be had on AliExpress for half the price.
>>103389849That's an insane keyboard. How did you get the caps? Aren't they like $1000+
>>103401265Aula is like 47bux, I don't want to wait too long, like a month for shipping, my current keeb dies randomly and I need it for work. No, voucher or anything, I checked on leddit and they seem like nice shop in my country. Bruh, keychron is the most expensive of all, more than a 100bux, keychron k8 pro with gateron g pro yellow, red or brown options. Why so much desu? Can I get something cheaper?
>>103401254Can't find any leopold and hall effect that I want, not TKL and not reasonably priced from a good online vendor.
>>103401296thanks anon, it's gonna be even more insane soon when my 60g carrot domes come in the mail, i'm really curious how they will feel with the HiPros. i harvested 30g domes off the nissho as well, so i have options of vintage 30g, oem 45g, and aftermarket 60g domes. i could even maybe do some variable dome configurations like modifier keys one weight, alphas another weight, etc.as for the price and how i got the caps, japanese auctions. i think a few years ago they did go for exuberant prices like 700-1k for just the keycaps but right now junk nissho boards have been going for way lower and you can harvest sliders and domes as well as the set of caps. on average i'd say 300-400 depending on condition variables. mint would go higher of course, but out of all the vintage topre boards, the nissho is the budget sleeper kinda flying under the radar if you're trying to get official topre hipro spherical caps, it's in the same price range as getting realforce 104ug or 108ug to harvest caps from.the real crazy ass vintage topre boards are the stuff like juki datum, juki data entry, etc. those are still going over 1k
Opinions on this? I wanna try mechanical keyboards but I don’t wanna overspend and this one is $30. It has red switches.
>>103401779probably shit but I'm sure you could do a lot worse for $30 - only thing I would keep in mind is that some of those Outemu hot swap sockets are not compatible with all switches, you sometimes have to trim the pins down to fit, in case you plan on hot swapping
>>103401350AliExpress takes like a week these days as long as it’s on AliExpress choice. As for the Keychron, they’re way cheaper on their own website. Other retailers mark the prices up because it’s a popular brand now.
If I knew Wooting took forever to ship I would have went with GMMK
>>103402040Keychron is available on its official website here and its still more expensive than the aula f87. More than 2x the price. Aula, the light shines through and not on the k8 pro. Is the k8 pro that good? Also, which one to get k8, k8 pro, hot swap and aluminium back plate.
>>103401625Do you think aftermarket domes are actually worth the time? I have topre and feel like 660c weighting is perfect stock but I'd be willing to try new domes in my hhkb since I don't really like how it feels.I wish they would just produce those caps, its crazy how good they look.
>>103402041What are their shipping times looking like?
>>103401296Hey newcomer here quick question. Why would someone pay many hundreds of dollars to have an enter key that goes the wrong way
>>103403902that is the numpad enter key going the right way
>>103404000Not on his little keyboard it isn't
>>103404099oh shit. lmao.
What are the odds of those 2.4GHz dongles to contain malware (like a keylogger)?
>>103404406100%
>>103404453You're lying. I should've asked Reddit.
>>103403902they keycaps are extremely hard to get and aren't made for that keyboard but the one they are made for is a full sized board which most people prefer to avoid.
I still don't understand how people can use 60% boards, the arrow keys and nav cluster keys are supposed to be be separate from the rest of the keys so you can find them by feel, 60% boards that add arrow keys to ? ralt rwin rctrl just completely assume you don't type question marks or slashes very often, purely function over form.
