the real LGR was replaced years ago

He produces the kind of bland, safe, unchallenging content that appeals to a wide audience. People don't want to know how some old computer works or spend 40 minutes watching someone repair it. They just want to see a guy turn it on and run Doom on it. Literally anyone could do what LGR does, so the question you have to ask yourself is how did you let this tubby grifter beat you to the punch?
>>
>>103595130
Not everyone would be happy as a grifter as you say.
>>
He is not very good at Duke3D despite playing it all the time

Ben Garrison is labeling youtube screenshots now?
>>
>>103595060
I think retro computer youtube content peaked around 2018-2019. 8-Bit Guy doesn't even make videos anymore, and LGR has been coasting for years and seems noticeably less interested. What else is there to even talk about once you've already talked about anything noteworthy from the 80s-2000s? Every other channel just does the same boring restoration + play level 1 of Doom for 2 seconds formula which is incredibly stale now.
>>
>>103595352
RetroManCave jumped the shark when his channel became about the making of his museum and not retro tech specifically. Now he has troons on in the background, which makes it hard to watch his new shit.

why should someone have to use Linux just because they're interested in old computers? linux isn't even that old

apparently the teradrive has some kind of interface with the pc side so the x86 can control the 68000 and send stuff to its ram but details on how to do this (and how it all functions) are unknown. very few of these machines were ever produced.

Everyone thinks it's "his" computer, even though he did barely anything outside of the concept. Fucking Adrian has hours of videos working on the piece of shit, yet no 8Bit Gay watcher even know who that is.

I used to think he was like Great Value LGR, but honestly his new content is better than anything LGR has done in a while.

i spent around two weeks learning assembler for 8bitguy's emulator and i was dumbfounded by the design choices they made in regards to the custom chip functionality. the documentation was poor, vague and sometimes incomplete but enough to get some things going on the screen. i don't understand how you can make a chip and documentation is lousy. you wouldn't believe how difficult it was to find how to use the main system font via assembler. i had to inspect memory just to find where the VERA was looking at it because: fuck writing important things down like where char rom exists. setting up VERA to do the display was also convoluted as fuck. it's sort of like Amiga's copper but slower and less capable. this chip would be great powering an arcade board because as a stand alone computer, with no operating system, is pretty average. he should have marketed it as an arcade board and encouraged people to use assembler then it would have been way more successful. instead he marketed it as a computer and encouraged people to use C (lmao) and BASIC (rotfl).. on a 6502 system. the man is retarded.
