I'm really tired guys. Now that sideloading is kill, I've spent the last few days re-evaluating why I even use a phone at all. I realized the last phone I liked was the Nexus 5 and that was over a decade ago. I think I'm going to give up on smartphones altogether. I don't like this anymore.

Smart phones were always gimped devices. Android in the past had more of a wild west feel with custom roms and apps you can side load to give you more functionality. Computer in your pocket. Not much more to differentiate between that and iOS now. Just pick a cucked phone that is good enough for your needs and get a second dedicated device for everything else. Just depends on what you're after.

The truth about smartphones will always be posted using reputable sources and not just unsubstantiated claims, deal with it. If you didn't lie we wouldn't be here. Nothing you trolls can ever say matters to me. Uneducated anons itt post misinformation. They don't even confirm the lies that they post.

No amount of lies will stop us from making this general great again. Why shouldn't I just get an iphone 15 next year?
The only thing that made android superior was the ability of being able to easily sideload apps. With that feature taken away, I don't have any reasons to keep buying devices with this OS. iOS is literally better in every aspect (except customization) and at least I'll still be able to sideload there.
Rn refurbished iphone 14s go for 300€, I'm sure that by the next year 15s will also be a bit cheaper.

I tried both and the Samsung is way better than the Pixel if you purely look at hardware, it is not even close. If you just use it as is, the Samsung is the way to go. Anon, i don't know how do prices in your country. But in my s25 ultra was 400 bucks cheaper compared to p10 xl so for me it was easy choice. Before that, i had a 9 pixel xl and it seemed like a cannon in terms of work, given that before i rocking with a oneplus 7 pro kek. Is there some phone along the lines of an xiaomi mi 9t pro that doesn't have some weird remote unlock needed to install ROMs?

are there some tablets with good ROMs without weird unlock procedures? I still need something easily mobile still however. Also don't mind getting something old and used, my phone is like that already, but im not really sure of how well this sort of stuff works on it and if there are even decent ROMs for it. I know that some xiaomi phones are really popular for some reason but i don't like how you need permission from china and some account to unlock it.

Just need shit like whatssapp and stuff. I have already cut away as much as possible but phones are sadly useless without it in my place and flip phones don't run it.

I already have a 2in1 running linux so i have front covered. I just need some dedicated device for that one messenger and NWO tier 2fa that doesn't track my every move. If people in my place were just using SMS i would just get a flip phone and have a pozzed phone for these other needs locked in a cage for when i need it.

But somehow someone convinced that everybody needs whatsapp and the previously perfectly good messaging method, SMS, got killed. I don't know what to do to be honest.

My A22 5g seems to be easy to flash and stuff but its not really popular in the scene and most roms i can find are made by randoms and have *EXPERIMENTAL* plastered all over the place, i don't really trust those over the stock stuff either.

Other than the meh benchmarks, is there anything that isn’t good with the Pixel 10/10 Pro? As long as it can support like 64 GB I'm good. I do care about being actually able to repair the stuff I own but that doesn't exist in phones anymore so whatever. The latter seems nicer because it has a proper keyboard since I do actually text quite a bit. No headphone jack is something I have to think about too but I guess converters exist.

OS changes are the reason why I'm looking so that factors in more than being new. I don't mind waiting until October if the product is significantly better but I'm noticing a lot of updates are meaningless specs upgrade in-exchange for a lot of physical features being removed and even higher costs of security. If the new Xperia still has a headphone jack and a physical SIM then great.

Have had a torrid time over the past 18 months with my Nokia G42 5G. I don't do anything intensive on my phone so budget-mid phones are best for me. Paid £170. Stock Android. Seemed it would be fine.

But it's had hardware and software problems throughout. At one point had to send it in for 'repair' because it just sudoku'd itself one day and was stuck in a bootloop. But it's also got hardware issues. Screen flickers very visibly on high brightness. Recently 3.5mm jack stopped working. Had problems with a SIM from a certain network, I think the phone was to blame, had to change networks and be on a shittier deal. Also another software problem from the latest update, the navigation buttons at the bottom go missing sometimes. At least with the hardware problems I doubt a factory reset will fix them. So I will contact them again to ask them to sort this shit out for me. Most likely to send me a replacement, whether this model, or an equivalent form their 2025 range. However I don't have high hopes for Nokia/HMD, if this shit is so unreliable, so will any replacement. And I can't go nearly 2 weeks without a phone again, that was annoying to say the least. So I want to buy a new phone in the mean time whatever happens with this one. And a different brand, of course.

So I want something cheap. Super duper max limit is £200, but honestly I'd prefer it to be significantly less than that. Just browsed the Moto and Xiaomi websites, these are the ones I opened in new tabs that they are actually available (Xiaomi was out of stock for a lot of models). Any recommendations from this list?

p.s. One of them has an in-screen fingerprint sensor. What are those like? Seems like a meme to me, but I've never used it.

This is our only defense we have against people that come in to this thread and lie. It's nothing personal against anybody's favorite device. It's just the simple facts. Nobody is out to get you, but when you're openly coming into this thread and lying and then getting upset when you get called out for it that's just ridiculous.

It's actually really interesting being the only person that is openly posting screenshots from two reputable websites consistently that is being targeted by multiple people that are posting false information. I wonder why? Liars are strange. This is a smartphone general and I'm literally posting about phones. Imagine posting lies itt and expecting us to never check Versus or NanoReview or other websites. Never blindly trust these liars without double checking. Most of the people itt are lying about a cheapo budget friendly device being a high quality phone. It's a problem unfortunately with lower IQ individuals.

I'm rocking an Xperia 5III I bought April 2024. I get weekly LineageOS updates. Sadly, thought the battery health is claimed to be good in the settings, I get poor battery life. I suggest you buy the 5V or 1V.

pixel 10a will have tensor g4, ufs 3.1 and no telephoto
what's even the point to buy this over 9a?
>>
>>106438871
in the US your best option is buying a refurbished last years S model cause they lose value fast despite being good phones. motorola sells gimped shit in the US. add 50 bucks and try to find a used S23

It's quite significant if you compare it to Google for example.
>pixel 9a US price: $499 UK price: £399
>iphone 16e US price: $599 UK price: £599
Bullshit.

How many years does it take AMOLED to burn in these days?
Last time I used AMOLED was with my first smartphone, a Galaxy S2. 2 years in and the top bar had burned inpretty significantly. Ever since then I've stuck with LCD. I hear AMOLED is a lot better now - but is that true, or just marketing/cope?

Will sideloading really get shut down by android? If so, I might as well buy my first iPhone next year. What's the point of an android if you can't use the only feature that stands out over iOS?
>>
>>106446760
i have a galaxy note 4 that's been used to death everyday from 2014 to 2020 and to this day it doesn't have a single burn in on it's amoled

some phones have pixel shifting that helps it not get image burn in when aod is on.

iPhone will be the only option for side loading until the EU passes laws that forces Google to do what Apple had to do.

presenting facts with sources instead of blurting out opinions isn't what a schizo is. LOL.
If you can't afford a iPhone Pro Max or a iPad Pro with a M4 that doesn't mean it is bad kid.

except android at least has the option of custom roms.
simple fact is that if there is enough demand, phones with unlockable bootloaders will always exist.

it works fine for plenty of people. you don't need to lie. either you pay a $99 a year for a dev license or plug into a pc every 7 days for revanced and other side loaded apps.
to get no ads you use the brave browser or download a dns ad blocking profile.
no jailbreak is needed.

this is easier on my androids (pixel 9 pro xl and s25 ultra) but what will happen after google locks the os down who knows. apple might just lock it down too, but it has not said it will and google has said it will.

i really dont care about roms, but downloading apks and installing them is cool and that might be over.

We need new

i don't think it's feasible to buy an iphone right now thinking it's the only option for freedom when we don't even know what google will actually do, apple installation limit of 7 days is ultra cucking me out of my phone
