>>106464240Gonna repurpose my old AM4 build into an matx format and put it in the living room hooked up to the TV. Could be fun for playing media and firing up coop games. Just need a mobo and case. Already ordered a B550M with wifi and bluetooth, and am thinking of doing the Lian Li A3 for case.
My 5070 come with this anti sag dildo. Look ugly and out of place but they include it means I should use it? How big is the problem with gpu sag anyway I never had problem but then I only used dual fans gpu before. >>106466558its always a riskmaking a small judgement error, being a bit too impatient, dropping shit, scraping things with a screwdriver can destroy hundreds of dollars in a secondyou can minimize the risks by watching a video of someone building a pc. Understanding the basics, taking the time to read the mobo/case manuals for instructions. Having good environment to build with soft surfaces, good light, right tools. The parts most likely to be fucked are am4 cpu pins, or you smear thermal paste on active areas. The mobo as it has large attack area and individual components. Gpu, ram and ssd can be fucked if you insert them incorrectly using force. Dont use 3rd party psu cables. The cpu cooler is heavy and maybe you let the case drop and it rips the mobo apart.
What's the real downside of minileds compared to IPS beside the price?
>>106466690often its problematic firmware, the minileds dont work flawlessly or are annoying to fiddle with, and usually you paid minileds with VA tech for less bloom thanks to better native contrast.IPS sucks image quality wise so on tha front theres no downside to not using va minileds, va obviously has slower pixel response times so theres more smearing but its tolerable. You would not buy VA miniled for competitive fps games.
You must be a special kind of retard if you could break the RAM or GPU by forcing them in. I was 11 didn't know shit about computer, didn't know video tutorial existed and could open the PC and insert my new RAM stick. It can literally go in one way.

Intel's upcoming "Nova Lake-S" introduces a completely new microarchitecture and under-the-hood enhancements. However, the appearance of the latest shipping manifests indicates that Intel is ensuring its partners receive early samples to make necessary software/firmware optimizations. And now, it appears that the 52-core top SKU will ship with speeds that may exceed 5.0 GHz. An early engineering sample confirms the appearance of test hardware in partner shipments, which means that Intel is already moving validation pieces to OEMs and cooling vendors so they can start tuning systems well ahead of qualification samples and mass production. The 52-core part is a tiled design that pairs two compute tiles with a single SoC tile. Each compute tile houses eight P-Cores based on Coyote Cove and 16 efficient E-Cores based on Arctic Wolf, while the SoC tile contributes four low-power Arctic Wolf LPE-cores. That gives Nova Lake-S a 16 P-Core, 32 E-Core, and 4 LPE-Core configuration totaling 52 cores for the top SKU, with single-tile variants offering a 28-core option.Intel will also offer big-cache bLLC variants aimed at workloads that benefit from larger on-die caches. On the platform side, Nova Lake-S will use the LGA-1954 socket with a 45x37.5 mm footprint, which matches LGA-1851 sizing and should preserve broad cooler compatibility even if some vendors need offset plates or other tweaks for optimal contact. The P-cores will ship without SMT, following the same choice made for Arrow Lake, while Intel's cache-first bLLC approach looks intended to counter AMD's stacked 3D V-Cache strategy. For now, the 4.8 GHz reading comes from an engineering sample and Pre-QS shipments; expect clock speeds to be refined upward as QS samples roll out and Intel moves closer to a formal launch. Given Intel's ambition to re-capture a significant part of the desktop market share, we can expect to see boost clock speeds north of 5.0 GHz.

>>106464240i used to have that case. antec p180 mini, iirc. nice example with a rare heatsink. looks passive. it was a good case for the time with plenty of useful features. used it as a truenas server for years.
>>106468022>is there a version that it happens the least to?get a PSU with the 600W and use the cable that comes with it or your GFX. besides you ONLY have to use the cables that come with a PSU, I can't believe I didn't know that until recently. 9070 XTs with the 600W draw less on spikes apparently. this is all what I read, and I have a 9070 XT with the 600W
>>106467676>memestoneIt's more of a PT/RT & FG catch-up feature.Radeon only has the driver overhead advantage for older CPUs, but NVIDIA doesn't care about selling video cards to people with those CPUs.Cards like the RTX 5050 & 5060 8GBs are mostly bought up by system integrators.

>>106468119Id rather rely on a filter on the intake + positive pressure>>106468121fans are relatively simple technology and once they reached certain quality level decade ago theres not much room to improve. you need to get to stuff like quality of sound at specific decibel, accessories, paint finish, qc, support and brand value to decide to spend the extra for noctua
>>106468147I got a 120 at 1700 for rear exhaust and the 2000 for the top of my 9700x since they weren't too pricy. I wonder if I should replace my thermalalright cooler with a noctua, but the 2000 took the heat off my CPU pins and I'm ridiculously impressed.
>>106468171I wouldnt invest extra unless its part of some sort of project to make coherent visual look for the case.
all my case fans are on a hardware controller directly connected to the psu and remain off until they need to be used. cpu fan is on motherboard pwm with modified curve in BIOS. no need to use the fans unless there's a load on the system like video editor or games. my preference.
>>106468197lol optimal
>>106468147Positive pressure/filters doesn't keep out everything. Some old guys just want to work and not worry about cleaning out their computer shop computer. You're also not running anything crazy on these, just spreadsheets and maybe some light cadwork.

>>106468257you're forcing a lot more metal in the casemore failure points because every warmish part needs to be glued to a large metal block instead of just having moderate air flow over ityou limit an expensive parts watt use because you dont want a silent fan on itthe trade offs dont make sense

>>106468224I think you're underestimating how much sawdust gets around workshops. We're not talking about a little bit of dust that exists in your home, we're talking about sawdust getting and how it gets everywhere. I'm sure there's some autistic setup where this would be unnecessary, but some guy who spends all day working on wood probably isn't too interested. Again, I'm not talking about your home (not filled with sawdust) and a passively cooled pc.
>>106468281good thing that you can decide for yourself what makes sense for you and so can i. i have zero regrets ripping the fans out of my components.
>>106468329it seems like if you dont care about pc performance which involves using fans to dissipate the heat you'd just be better off buying some chink mini pc

Made the mistake of buying a Razer mouse due to limited options and constrained time. It's been near a decade since my last run-in with them. Zero improvements. Same poor design. Same bad engineering. Same horrible aesthetics. Same god-awful everything.
