>>106525846>9NOW HIRING)retardhave a bump
what are you currently learning, /utwg/? i'm thinking of starting the node.js course on the odin project
I may have to actually get into web shitting. There's no work out there except web shitting with JeetScript
>"What are your salary expectations, Anon?">say higher than they expect, raise a red flag>say lower than they expect, raise another red flag (for whatever reason)>say exactly than they expect: "Very well, you might now be considered for the next seelction processes
>"Are you currently working, Anon?">say "yes", get rejected because you're already working (reasons don't matter)>say "no", get rejected because nobody wants to hire an unemployed loser
I literally saw "Are you considering other positions?" as a question on an application today. What actual retard would NOT be considering more than one position in this job market?
Hello world.I didn't find a job today.
>>106525846Cruel.>>106529191What did you answer? Hopefully a diplomatic response.
>Usual "Fuck around in the middle of job searching">Find something about personalized pricing and how stores can charge variable amounts based on data they collected about you and what you are willing to pay>Usually in the form of wealthier customers getting better deals to keep them buying there and people living close to the store being charged more>Surely not, this can't be fucking real.>Look it up>mfwHOW IN THE FUCK IS THIS LEGAL?! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WITH THESE COMPANIES HAVING DYSTOPIAN SHIT SO BLATANTLY OUT THERE IN BOTH HIRING AND CONSUMER AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT?!
>>106529630It was a yes/no button so I clicked yes.
>>106529681What does that have to do with job search?None of that has been applied to the job market (yet)Not that I don't usually imagine the future job market will be even more dystopian so as to resemble The Hunger Games or something
>>106525846where can you buy a whole pig(let) anon?
>>106529702Why not lie by going with No?
>>106529778
How do I specifically filter out all the web dev positions when I search for software "engineer" jobs?
>>106528364>candidate did not appreciate our playful guessing game, a red flag
>>106529848any decent butcher would probably order or reserve one for you
>>106527884It's not that bad anon. Pays the bills and normies are impressed when they see frontend stuff.
>>106529868Even for a job where that could be relevant, that is a stupid interview scenario.
>>106529910I guess, I usually made lard requests for smalec at my butcher and she would reserve some for me.
The waiting and silence is the most demoralizing part of all of this. I can't keep making toy programs all day, but I don't have the drive to get more certs anymore. I'm tired boss.
>>106529911I really hope it's not that bad. Web dev is at least 90% of the work.
>>106527884My biggest thing is that I HATE front end development, I want to be the guy to do the functionality and database management side of things, yet everything is either front end or full stack. Fucks me up.>>106526906I've been meaning to try and get more into Python stuff after not using it for years after university because it's the closest thing to development work I see on my feed.
>>106529982>>106529997I see plenty of fullstack roles on linkedin where the focus is backend. It never hurts to just apply and ask for more details from the recruiter. Assuming they bother calling you back.
>>106525846this is why i need to stop eating pork
Other boards like this for job search?I found /scg/ on >>>/sci/ but it's not quite like this
>>106527884What makes you think you're above web devs? They have a job and you don't.
Anyone here with 3-5 years of Ruby experience? NoSQL + API experience also a plus. Job is in Japan but is fully remote (can technically work from overseas as a contractor, but I think it'd be better for both of us if you worked in Japan). Visa sponsorship available. Please post hand with some way to contact you and I'll reach out.
>>106530493to elaborate, job is entirely back-end dev work with integrations (Oracle's Property Management System, LINE/WeChat type integrations, etc)Sometimes you may have to look at a front-end to configure things (sorry).
>>106530485I actually do have a job, but it's for a set period of time and I'm trying to set up the next one with no luck because there's literally no job market.I'm not better than web devs, I just despise web development.
>>106530520>I just despise web development.Understandable
>>106525846Friendly reminder that McDonalds is always hiring kitchen/drive-thru staff :)
>>106530561I got rejected from a bunch of casual jobs actually because I am overqualified... bitch I can't get a full time job and need something to fill the time, you are hiring casual, you should know what's coming to you.
>>106530561>>106530568I'm hiring 2 ruby devs, only catch is it's in Japan.
>>106530707Not a Ruby dev, sorry, but hope you find them here.
>work startup tech>comfy, everyones bros, got each others backs>firm got bigger>more and more of "those people">start doing some dumb acquisitions>hire more and more jeets to cut costs>force GPT slops onto everything>tell me to clean up the mess when GPT eventually breaking shit>jeets in jeets out>implement more performance tracking because jeets slackingis this the inevitable cycle
>>106530561this >>106530568even my local dominos posted fake job listings, they say they want delivery drivers but they just use doordash because of market pressure
as someone from a non-cs background, frontend looks much more easier than backend to me. also it's impossible to make a catastrophic level mistake while dealing with frontend. and LLMs are much better at frontend than backend. but I assume these jobs will be going away within the next couple of years
>>106530969the reason you're expanding so fast is because of exit strategyplump up the pig before the slaughter, type shitcompany with more employees has bigger payroll therefore is valued at higher price
