How does having two monitors with different resolutions (and refresh rates) work these days?

Pretty good on Wayland

NO!

On a serious note I'm used to arch and it never broke on me except when I used AUR packages that were made by retards.

The problem likely stems from my non default/conventional setup with limine as bootloader and snapshot integration. The arch ostree package likely expects a normal grub or systemd-boot install and something doesn't jive with limine. I didn't have this issue with my main computer that runs cachy.

I've got a laptop with easy-swap SSD so I'm going to put a blank drive in and try Omarchy. I've mostly been using GNOME for the past few years but having a pre-riced Hyprland seems fun.
>>
>opensuse's Signal repo for Fedora 42 has a newer version of nodejs-electron than what my dnf is asking for
Anyone else have this problem? I mostly care just because it prevents dnf update -y from finishing
>>
>>106627498
Zero issues on both Wayland and X11 here.

install gentoo

Omarchy is made by a macfag redditard and makes macfag redditard choices. Just warning you.
I am pretty sure even widows doesn't come with a whatsapp client preinstalled. There's a spotify hotkey for crying out loud. This man even sells merch like he actually made something.
I would recommend you read up on the official docs and see if this is actually something you want. Just know that if it doesn't; configuring and ricing hyprland isn't difficult at all and the wiki will allow you to understand and configure it top to bottom in a single day. So unless you plan on not changing much of omarchy just install arch and hyprland normally.

yikers
just fucking use windows at this point lmao

more and more distributions are going for the atomic model where user apps are installed as snap, appimages or flatpak only.

No they aren't. Stop shilling your crap.

It's not just the Hyprland rice, it's the integration of a bunch of tools I'm not familiar with yet, and a custom pacman repo for stuff not yet in Arch main. If it turns out the nice parts of the setup are replicable from base Arch (or, ideally, Fedora) I can roll my own bootc based distro around it.

>>106627989
They actually are, I'm running Bluefin right now. Its sister distro Bazzite is one of the more popular distros and it's immutable-base.
>>
>>106627989
they are. suse micro os, the incoming KDE Linux**, Fedora atomic desktop, Aurora, ...

Also, let's check out them metrics, since Fedora has telemetry built in

Ooof... Not looking too good for the next big thing.
>>
>>106628106
Yeah, AerynOS, which is atomic but not immutable and doesn't force you to rely on flatahit.

This general is rolling release, no need for editions.

File pickers for discord and brave stopped working. I don't know how to do formatting here, pic related is journal output. I use i3 without login manager, have xdg-desktop-portal-gtk installed. Found some threads on the forum, didn't help me because I'm too dumb probably. I reckon the session is broken, but I have no idea how to fix it. Didn't change anything in . xinitrc. Arch.

Manually installed the newer package and it stopped asking for the old package, wow I am a genius

Good to know, last time I used it is was a complete disaster. Was a few years ago though.
>>
>>106628457
whats a flake
>>
>>106628510
The only issue I have with multi-monitor setups is that, since my side monitor is to the right of my main one, some programs tend to open on it because that's where the X:0 Y:0 coordinate is. On Windows, my main monitor is always at X:0 Y:0, while my secondary one is an offset of that, like X:-1920 Y:0.

Most developers can't be bothered to query for the main monitor on Linux and automatically assume that X:0 Y:0 is where the primary display is, which isn't always true on Linux.

kinda sucks not being able to update gnome. "Gotta wait for the next Ubuntu release to avoid breaking a bunch of stuff" is what Reddit tells me
