Anon with the exploding and faulty foot pumps here, from the threads two weeks ago.
In short, I managed to get my money back with a chargeback and after getting fed up with foot pumps I ended up buying a Xiaomi battery air compressor.

Now the long story with recap:
I bought the pump on the right from Ali and I was pretty satisfied with it... until it exploded after two months while pumping with it 4-6 times in total. Some spring mechanism shot out from its side at high speed and just stopped working after that. I couldn't find the explosive part, since it was dusk and happened in a very dirty bicycle storage.
I tried messaging the seller right away, but Ali's interface is so garbage, I unintentionally ended up connecting to Ali's customer service chat. I tried explaining what happened, but the chat was so awful, I got flooded with AI generated replies, until I finally connected to a real human. I explained again what happened and they asked me for a screenshot of my order page, because they didn't seem to believe I was out of the 15 days refund window. I asked for a few minutes, because I wanted to take a screenshot of the whole page and edit out part of my personal data.
Once I was ready to send my image, I noticed I was disconnected. Apparently, if neither party replies for like 2-3 minutes, the chat gets disconnected. So I had to go through all the AI crap again to reach a human with a different random name, but likely the same person I was talking to before. They asked me for my email address, which I provided. I also told them I intended to contact the seller and I won't be near a computer for the next day to check my emails (I had to travel with my bicycle). (I also want to add, that during the chat Ali's employee kept spamming me with stupid AI replies, like "Just order again" or "I want the best for you", likely in part to keep the connection alive.)

Guess what the fuck happened?
They sent me an email with a 24 hour time limit to reply, else they throw out my complaint!
Luckily, I got home early and I managed to make a reply in the dead of the night that I accept their proposed solution of uploading images to Google Drive, but asked them to wait some fucking more cause I can't take pictures until tomorrow.
I was super speedy, took the photos in the morning light and explained everything again just in case, then... Chang fucking ghosted me! But only after receiving an automatic looking message, that basically said, "looks like you won't be able to upload the images today, so better luck next time, get fucked!"

While explaining what happened I also noticed that the pump I bought didn't match the pictures advertised by the seller. The pressure gauge was different looking and the air intake was also at a different spot. A solid basis for a refund in its own right.
Afterwards I also noticed that my account got restricted for a few days, so I couldn't make a follow-up review. I'm not sure if this was part of some kind of review process, but the restriction went away after a few days.

By this point, I was like, this is fucking ridiculous, I'm doing a chargeback.
While wrestling with my bank and their chargeback procedure (or lack thereof), I stumbled across the pump from the top at a "local" bicycle shop more than 100km away. I had ample misgivings, but I was desperate, so I bought it overpriced as fuck. I was so stupid not testing it out right away, because this variant of the pump didn't even work at all. It was damaging the valve and leaking air from it, while the moving part got stuck all the time needing constant adjustments by hand to fix, completely defeating the purpose of a *foot* pump. The cheap plastic foot rest was falling out all the time too.

That's when my fortunes turned. I managed to get back to the "local" shop and get a full return & refund with no issues. My bank also got back to me, for some reason they're sending a physical letter to my address, but I could see the money refunded on my account, indicating a successful chargeback process. My Ali account is still alive and well, but I think it's only a matter of time until they kick me out. Honestly, fuck them.

About the Xiaomi compressor, I only used it once, so I can't tell yet whether it will work or not. It's heavy and I still have to sit down into the dirt to use it, but it's the best and only option I have for now. It looks mighty shaky on the shelf, ready to explode the moment it falls off. Can only charge through an USB port, which is kinda stupid. I'm anxious carrying it around, since every pothole I accidentally hit and cobblestone road I ride onto could result in a spontanous explosion. At least I have two years of warranty. Supposedly.

For any other anon trying to buy foot pumps, especially crappy chink ones, just give up. Humanity as a whole is incapable of making a functioning foot pumps. It's a lost technology we can never get back.

There's a decent chance it's threaded inside that you can screw it onto the valve with, so no need to hold it there while it pumps if that's the case.

The battery inside that thing is very unlikely to have enough energy to explode. Worst case it gets punctured when charged, in which case it gets hot, then releases steam and depending on the size eventually fire. The whole process takes a bit though, it's not like those old videos of hoverboards going up in flames. And again that requires a puncture, not just a physical shock from cycling. I'd say don't worry about it as much, xiaomi shit is usually really decently built.

The anon who got the cheap fishing rod from 3 threads ago here.
Managed to actually get out to the water yesterday, though not as long as I'd have hoped for.

Overall I'm fairly happy with the rod. I didn't have any big bites, so no idea how it deals with bigger fish, just a bunch of Gobys (fuck 'em).
Anyways, the rod is insanelty light compared to what I previously used (to be fair that was very heavy), fairly sensitive and feels sturdy enough. It being made of 5 parts is a bit of a pain for assembly and disassembly and the tips (it came with 6) are of varying quality, one of them is a bit too thick and doesn't properly fit the hole for it. The other 5 are all fine though.
For the price, definitely a decent choice, if you have realistic expectations.

It's indeed threaded, but I have to sit down even to screw it onto the valve. It came with a fast attach adapter or however it's called in english, but it's still too difficult for me to operate while bending down with the short cable and all. The ground is also very dirty and I want to baby it.

Yeah, that's my fear because I have other stuff in my bag too, like keys, pens and screws. Not to mention all the sideways forces when I have to use the shoulder strap due to putting bulkier items in my bike basket / holder.
I try to keep the pointy stuff in a separate pocket, but I guess ultimately I have to trust the brand.

Anon... the valve is on the wheel. Just move the wheel to where the valve is on the top and you should be able to thread it on without having to sit down. That being said do whatever works for you. Obvious with the wheel at the top position you'd have to hold it still, as having it hang from the valve might work, but isn't good for the valve.

I've had it for 2 years by now and it's in the communal bike shed, so it's got plenty of use. If it could explode, chances are I'd have heard about it from a neighbor or some shit.
My guess is one day one of the gaskets will break and it'll not work properly anymore, if I'm lucky it's just the gauge that breaks, if not I'll have to get a replacement.

If your bike has no place to put a phone, there's some nice cheap phone holders (I use one for my bicycle, same thing though).
You can definitely get a bunch of tools from ali, and maybe stuff like seat and grip warmers or some shit, but I don't know anything about that subsection of the market.

Depending on what kind of bike you have and what kind of riding you plan on doing, you'll want either just a generic holder, or something that's far more secure. If it's a bike primarily for commuting and riding on normal roads, probably and normal holder will work, though for convenience magsafe or one of those connectors that you get a special case for might be really convenient.
If you do more rigorous riding (adventure mostly), you may want something that is more secure.
If you do really aggressive riding, like riding a dirtbike on trails with jumps and shit, you will want something specific to that, as the concern there stops being that the phone might fall out, and moreso is that adding anything to the handlebars might make crashes worse.
I have picrel for my bicycle, which isn't very subtle (which might matter for a cleaner look on your bike), but it holds the phone very well and is sturdy as shit as it's aluminium.
Only two donwsides it has are that it can't handle larger phones (mine is fine though) and that you have to use the screw on the side to attach it, which isn't the fastest method. For a daily communter a quicker release mechanism might be nicer. There are also spring loaded ones, but no idea how well those balance ease of (dis)connection and grip.

On a semi-related note consider the youtube channel "fortnine" (not forntnite, don't worry). They're based out of canada and among various motorcycle videos have gear reviews and shit, definitely worth it to learn some basics and if you see them talk about some gear or something you can still look for chinese equivalents/clones. Most tools and bike mods should have some.

From a different experience, I bought an ereader super cheap on ali, Chang clearly never sent it and closed his fucking store, so the automated message spam just told me the store might have been closed and may not respond.

Anyways, about 2 days into the dispute, turns out Chang did care and suggested the refund amount, less $40NZD. The fucking audacity of this fag.
I rejected it and he did that a further 3 times each day.
Finally, the timer ran out and Ali acted. I was worried, but our glorious yellow overlords blessed me and are refunding me the full amount.

I don't know what the /csg/meta is on these usb-c meters. I heard that this meter was meme'd on Japanese and Russian boards. Apparently some time ago for them it cost only a few bucks.
I managed to grab one in the summer sale for a few bucks even though I'm not in those regions.
It's a bit better than the basic meter that shows voltage, current, and power. It has a mini scope to show ripple voltage. It tests for USB-C PD / PPS and QC profiles. Newest firmware can read teh e-marker. It can also rig the PD/PPS profile to output what you want. A bit of a dangerous utility there if you forget to set it back to default because it remembers state even when unplugged.
Unfortunately it has a fatal flaw. The USB connectors aren't anchored to the PCB. It's dangling by the USB traces. Especially the male connector. One person epoxied the connector. One russian shows you how to solder it at the corners but honestly the there's a tiny sub-mm nib of solder pads on the corner. I tried to perform this surgery on my device but I'm skeptical it will hold strong enough long term.
My unit was prone to rebooting even when plugged on the female connector. It hasn't rebooted since applying solder in attempt to create some sort of anchor.
It's also manufactured like a modern device such that to disassemble you have to pry the glued screen cover and button panel. The glue isn't strong. I was able to do it with a pocket knoife after letting the device warm in the sun.
Also the meter seems to measure its own power usage too. Not that great. Though it does have a settable screen-off timer. So maybe the power usage is actually negligible idk.
It was so close to a decent device (better than basic meters) for real cheap if not for the shit USB connectors.
I read that the japs and the russkies were grabbing these as throwaway devices for a few dollars.

I feel like I've driven myself crazy trying to find some decent F clamps on AliExpress, or Amazon, or anywhere really.
What I'm talking about is something like the picture. You can use them for all kinds of things on your desk: Mounting a pegboard, mounting power extension cords, holding a microphone (depending on where the bolt holes are). They always come up as "the part I need" for attaching things to my desk, and I can't find one good place to get ones which are steel.
Loads of products on Ali and elsewhere integrate these into their design, so why can't I buy them anywhere? It'd be cheaper, it seems, to just buy some shitty under desk organiser and throw away the tray.

Got the same headphones after never using anc. Battery life is great, I don’t really mind you can’t fold them. And once you turn off location the stupid notifications stop.

There are guides for the equalizer. Which makes a ton of difference.

You're going to need one with two USB cables. You can get one with a single host cable, but it will be using DisplayLink, and it's pure cancer; or just mirror both monitors.

I got my slavery simulator prize. The Kemei KM-1506 shaver. The internals are as basic as you might expect. Motor wired directly to NICD battery. Battery charges directly from USB mini through a diode and resistor. Basically you'd never want to charge a battery in this.
The battery is not soldered in like typical shavers. There's battery holder and a battery door. That's a reason why I picked this prize. Perhaps I'll try stuffing a tp4056 in there and convert it to lithium.
The motor has a brass cam thing with an offset pin that drives the attachments. It seems like the weight of the brass thing gives the shaver a bit more powerful feel. More than the cheapest of cheap shit shavers I've seen in the past.
The hair clipper attachment is an actual decent sized metal hair clipper head. It seems alright for light work.
The shaver is garbage. Probably can't even handle pubescent peach fuzz.
The nose hair trimmer seems usable but not great. The slits that are meant catch hair are rather shallow. I think it should be deeper so it can catch more hair but I'm no shaver engineer. This attachment is a bit noisy. I applied some lube but it didn't make a difference.
The nose hair attachment can be disassembled for cleaning which is good. There is a small spring inside an inner tube. Got to be careful not to lose this.
There are three blue LED covers on the case but only one actual red LED inside. Makes me wonder if this is a common injection mold for a better model.
It was supposed to come with a tiny bottle of lube but mine didn't. Perhaps it's no included due to customs reasons.

Overall it's a bit more than what I expected it to be. I got my nose hair trimmer. And maybe a future project to upgrade the battery.
It's notch above the most basic types of shavers I've seen in the past. The ones that struggle to even drive the shave heads. Seems like the killer feature (for its landfill garbage tier) is the heftier motor drive with the brass cam thing. Though the shit plastic attachment mechanism kind of detracts from it.
For that reason I don't foresee it having longevity. Especially not if you're going to be changing attachments often. The plastic clips will wear over time.

I'm a different anon, but if you're considering headlamps give sofirn a look too. I got one from them and am very happy with it. That being said mine is for hiking and has a red light nighttime mode, so that particular model is not relevant to your usecase. You probably want a wider angle beam instead.

How much did you pay again? The case is a lot nicer than I expected, I didn't realize that the holder was a massive aluminum heatsink. I'd still be a little concerned with leaving it on for too long and the heatsink heating up to the point where it damages the plastic case, but that's probably not an issue if the tip doesn't have contact with the holder, which it looks like it doesn't.
Iirc the HS02 also has full T12 tip compatibility (unlike the 1) so replacements will be cheap too.

To many successful and enjoyable soldering jobs anon, can't wait for my geeboon tc22 to arrive too. Sometimes you just want to pay a bit for something that's really great to use.

Yeah, the holder doesn't touch the tip, I left it on for several minutes and it barely heated up at all.
The case is very well made. It's heavy but not too heavy, it has all the little things like rubberized & textured legs for extra stability. The slot for the iron is designed to only let you put the iron in "the right way" face up, and it will grip the iron so even if you turn the opened case upside down and shake it nothing will fall out (the wire holder is magnetic).
They really put some thought into it.

Expensive but not outrageous especially given the apparent build quality.
How is it to hold? The square shape was the main thing turning me off from considering them, it doesn't look very ergonomic, but maybe it's not so bad.

Might update the soldering iron section with it then, I don't feel comfortable recommending the HS-01 on there due to the tip compatibility issue, but the HS-02 might be worth consideration for those who have a less restrictive budget.

Ali means they started packaging and sending it (if sent via aliexpress itself)
Or the seller clicked a button saying it was sent (if sent via the seller/international shipping)
Delivery company means either it was electronically announced ( see >>106673517 the "info received" step basically) or it actually arrived in your country and they are in actual hold of the item (if the state is "out for delivery" )

But some mismatch for a day or so is common. If you're paranoid, cross reference between ali tracking and 17track or any other tracking website, they don't always align.
All that matters in the end is that the website knows you ordered, meaning if it doesn't arrive you can also dispute and get your money back. For your matter all you need to know is it's not yet at your house, so you have to wait either way.

Ah fair enough.
In the end for you as the end-user you just have to know that there's 3 stages:
- Order is there, but it's not shipped yet: At this stage you can still cancel without any reason or change the delivery address.
- Order is shipped, but still in the international stage of the shipping process. This can mean that the tracking only shows "electronically announced" or the shipping number is an aliexpress one (A or AP at the start) and says something about flight and/or customs.
- Order is shipped and in your country. At this stage usually it will be given to a local delivery company and tracking becomes much more accurate, including giving you the day it'll arrive.

Really, all that matters is that in stage 1 you can easily cancel, in stage 2 you have to wait, and in stage 3 you can tell with high confidence when it'll arrive.

Haul arrived.

Pleasantly surprised that they added a lot of slack to the strap on the back, meaning even someone with a big head like me can wear it. It lacks a bit of structure, which means you can see it's made for smaller noggins, but it's not too bad.
Only downside is I the text, I was hoping the "OCEAN IS A FUCK" part was just censored on the listing, but it arrives as "OCEAN IS A" anyways.
Still pretty rad overall, I like it and for less than a euro it's amazing.

Quality is as you'd expect (nothing worth complaining about, but nothing worth praising either). It has more structure than the other one, which makes it "sit" on your head a bit better. Also has enough slack to fit on my head, but it's a bit less nice of an attachment mechanism.

Feels good to hold and nimble, only concern is if the coating will wear or not. I have super cheap soft steel knives I got half a decade ago by XY and their engravings (that looked even cheaper) held up fine, so I'm optimistic. Will post once I cooked with it today.

Decent advice, I quite often wear a shemagh when /out/ (including fishing), which serves a similar function, but I tend to not wear that in absolute mid summer.
With these neck gaters you should consider getting one that has a UPF50+ rating (highest rating for UV protection for fabrics), to actually protect your neck, the others may help with heat, but won't protect from UV nearly as much.
Learned about them from a fortnine video, theirs looked really well made, but it's 30$, I'd have to order it from canada and I don't like wearing e-celeb merch as a matter of principle. Wish they had one that was easier to ship to europe and didn't have their logo.

I have yet to see a good looking fake plant. Every fake plant I have ever seen was on a spectrum from "utter garbage" to "somewhat inoffensive". If you have dollar stores IRL go there instead, that way you can at least see them IRL and prices should be about the same. The one in your picture looks shit in the picture already, so IRL it won't be any better.

Any reason against real plants? Maintenance doesn't have to be too hard if you choose the right varieties. Obviously more than plastic though.

some got power failure because their charger can't deliver 100W. Read the comment below, they replaced it with 140W charger and set handle to 100% and it worked.
You don't need to do that though. 65% power is fine, the iron still heat up very fast.

Just get a pair of MMCX instead since these headphones already have split cable to each side instead of splicing the existing cable or cooking up something dumber. I have done the same on a pair of vintage AKG K260 600ohms and they work fine although the internal connector fitment was quite a shit work by me at the time.

I prefer connectors with a nut that screws down instead of working like a retard with hot glue to fit 0.78mm and ideally that version that comes with the small internal wire pre-soldered.

well this was a half bust.

will have to return a bunch cause the sizes are insanely small. like so small I can't even put it up my leg let alone around my waist. guess you actually have to be a lolita for this.

triple pack fishnet hose are real nice too.

The thing you want to check is carrier bands.
My understanding is that if a phone is made for bands that aren't supported in your country (or restricted to specific carriers), then that's not an easy fix, but I've never looked deeply into it either.

Update on the knife; the handling and balancing is really great. Also has a great factory edge, though that's not worth much.
It's nimble and nice to work with.

I'd argue those folding mini Bluetooth keyboards are well past that point. They are flimsy, keys are too small to type well and they are bad to type on.
Personally I use a full size keyboard because I use the numpad regularly (mostly cad but also data entry occasionally). I can see how a 75 or maybe even a 60% is acceptable tradeoff for someone who doesn't use the numpad much. Anything beyond that I have to consider mental illness though.

This one is a zigbee bulb, zigbee is a mesh network which has plenty of advantages (much better for many devices, devices work as repeaters, meaning you get better signal coverage, lower battery/energy drain), but also disadvantages, the big one being that they need a "hub" or "coordinator". You can get those for ~20-25$ on ali, but they are as much botnet as the non zigbee smart devices, meaning some chinese server acts as a bridge and can be a security vulnerability.
Most people who are more tech adjacent however get a zigbee usb dongle from ali, then run homeassistant on a homeserver. The dongle enables the homeserver to act as the hub and thus you can run everything locally. It's probably the best balance of privacy/capability/cost on the market rn. But you need to run a homeserver to make that work.
If you don't care about botnet that much, I have a relative who wanted zigbee but couldn't handle a homeassistant instance, so they use a cheap ali hub, seems to work fine for them.

If you just want one bulb or one power plug, there's also "wifi" versions, which don't need a hub. They usually use 2.4 Ghz wifi and the servers of whatever company made them.
Issue is if you have multiple zigbee devices (in my case that's heater thermostats, window sensors, various lights, some switches/buttons, and power plugs) then you really don't want to use the non zigbee offerings as they will clog up much faster with too many signals, might use different apps (which is a giga pain) and overall are just worse to use. Another advantage of zigbee is ikea smart devices are all zigbee cross compatible, so you can always just get a ikea smart bulb or switch and use it with your setup.
All depends on how schizoid you wanna be about your data I suppose and your frustration tolerance for homeserver setups.
