Anyone else trying and struggling to get on with leetcode practice? All that to get the salary of a junior in 2022 as a medior+ in 2025. While inflation has also been giga the past 3 years.I don't really see this as growth.

>>106746057That's largely because the market in 2021/2022 was completely retarded. That's when girls showing up on Zoom meetings at Twitter were making $180k
>>106746057Yes. Full Stack/Senior engineering has become positively absurd. It's not enough to know a front end/server side/data layer language and be able to connect them all. You now need to know infrastructure, dev ops, SRE, cyber security, and also be able to conduct requirements gathering, feature planning, and serve as a minor team lead/manager. At this point I talk to anyone else whatsoever about their job and it sounds like the kids menu compared to my schizophrenic role.
>>106745996job postings are 100% fake. ive seen it personally.market is still in disaster mode for a lot of people. every moron is getting a cs degree and graduating and wondering where their 6 figure job is. literally almost 100k grads a year when job growth was supposed to be 400k for the entire decade. not to mention h1b fraud. immigrants have about 40% of all domestic software engineering jobs.
>>106745996For most of the last decade tech companies have followed a biglaw model. The biggest companies hire way more juniors than they need at an insane premium, turn them from college kids that don't know shit into decent employees, and then cut most of them and keep the high achievers. This means they get first dibs on people who will actually pay off as software engineers, and they release a bunch of people with 1-3 years of experience at a huge company back into the market. AI isn't capable enough to replace these people, but these 0-3 year experience employee types aren't actually worth the investment, so companies are underhiring for now on the bet that AI's actually worth something probably 3-5 years from now. It's a massive bet, tech is moving first but entry level positions in other fields will probably start experiencing a similar freeze/reduction soon
Anyone getting sick and tired of management now?>Sends me a bullshit task and see if I can whip up a proof of concept when it's going to be insanely tedious and our tool doesn't allow for easy backups. People are blaming AI but I'm yet to find a real first or second hand story of someone getting fired specifically to be replaced by ChatGPT. Loads of people being forced to use it, but not outright replacement.I think the current job market really is just the result of over-hiring and "rockstar" nonsense during coof. "Tech" printed money for companies in a weird time where everyone was cooped up at home and all local industry/commerce was basically turned off by force. Now that HR rats don't need telecon shit anymore and truck drivers are back in jobs because "le supply chain disrupsion" is over tech hiring has gone back to more normal levels (but still with insane psycho humiliation ritual shit-testing because it's all run by retarded boomers who got in during the nortel days and think they're hot shit for dodging a layoff once)

I've asked if I can be taken out on the communication for anything related to those team and he said no. I'm about ready to snap during the meetings tbqh.
>>106748646endure it and develop a drinking problem. also sex with creatures. eventually they will die. (the team, not the creatures. creatures are eternal and they DO shoot back)
I will not let jeets pollutes my mind by not talking about them in the first place. By not talking about them i dont think about them. By not thinking about them they dont exist. Because they dont exist all my problems about them are imaginary.I will use my energy for love and meaningful work instead of hate and pointless sufferings.
>>106748733anon as insane as this sounds it's normal office politicsits likely the other team is swamped with bullshit tasks and they are doing everything they can to be protective of random bullshit coming their way. the rest is just blame game management. the general rule is that unless i know you personally and we have built some rapport, if you come to me with something like "bro can you test this for 5 minutes" then i will tell you to fuck off and go through official processes because 99% chance is that it wont be just 5 minuteslearn to document, push back and involve your boss if they involve their boss
>>106748245responsible opiate usage
>>106748865I don't know, I don't like you coming to ask for insights on something and make it a straight 30 minute grilling session. oh trust me bro it was 5 minutes, I just need you to click a button and that's it lmfao. idgaf if you're stressed with shit no one else on your team is anal as fuck.
>>106748733Contest, Confront, Conquer.Fuck these sandbags.Get fucking trampled and die a horrible death or stay out of the way.
>>106748989>I don't like you coming to ask for insights on something and make it a straight 30 minute grilling sessionthey do that because you let themthey dont let you waste their time with a "5 minute button press" because they know it will turn into a 30 minute testing shitshowsimple as
>look into how to get a security clearance>you need a sponsorship from the government or a government contractor working with classified intelligence>but 99% of jobs that require a clearance already want you to have oneapplying for jobs has turned me more into a raging anti capitalist libtard than 10000 high school / college teachers could ever have
>>106749090ugh so you're just saying I gotta be an ass back?
>>106748865>it's normal office politicsI disagree. That's just an excuse for being a weak fucker. Be professional, objective, reasonable and stoic, or get the fuck out.
>>106749115im saying you have to learn ways to set boundaries and expectationsno idea what you mean by 30 minute grilling session but if they made a point and you feel like its retarded/wasting your time then tell them to ticket it up and move on with the discusion. that way they will be forced to waste 30 minutes of their time, you read it in 1 minute and can easily disprove/point out that retardness in writing for all to see if they are wrong.if you need something tested, again, ticket it up and send it their way. if you need it urgent and they tell you to fuck off then escalate prioritiesthis is all extremely retarded and counterproductive to getting shit done but you gotta understand thats how fucked the modern workplace is. one anon put it best in the previous thread>>106716759
the managers and people at my job have started to notice that the indian-based team sucks ass, doesn't reply to emails or pings, and are always trying to get out of work. it's only a matter of time now from the talk i've been hearing. do they honestly believe nobody will notice this shit?
>150k>full remote senior data engineer>cool industry and collleagues>lots of PTO, chill work environmentDo I have a good deal? I feel like my salary is low, but every job I see with a higher salary looks like bad work life balance etc
>>106746071Honestly things were pretty awful 6-8 years ago too, it's just that nothing was done then so now we're hitting the peak of everyone realizing what the fuck is going on. There was a small amount of time where warehouse jobs were paying a little more than usual under Trump I but I still distinctly already remember getting out of college as an (admittedly) average-at-best candidate and there was just nothing. A lot of the same problems back then are happening now, just more common.
I got an interview tomorrow for a management position that would mean a noticeable salary rise. I currently work as developer.I'm going to reject it. I just don't care. I don't want to work as tard wrangler, I don't want to do endless meetings. I'm going to stay her and keep slacking off.
>>106749359never lead a team/take huge project ownership that requires uptime responsibility and it honestly doesnt get better than that

why the fuck are they forcing everyone to work in the office again?
>>106748407This only sucks if you're forced to walk into office and sit there twiddling your fingers until lunch and snoop out of the building an hour or two afterwards...I did that today, spending time playing one round of gacha and scrolling through 4 on my phone
>>106746705>do any of thatWhat are they going to do, fire you? You already quit.
Am I allowed to lurk here if I'm in car sales and studying certs part time to hopefully get into IT?
24 hours since my full loop with FAGMAN and my recruiter hasn't gotten back to me. Am I in the clear?

I mean at this point, would you go out of tech? Or at least spin into something like operations or business side of things?
