I actually ordered a few "openSUS" stickers from redbubble this year. But then I stopped using openSUSE.

>"your browser can't play this video"
I ran this https://www.jeffersonscher.com/sumo/html5-video.html
and it says I can't run MP4/H.264. I even have OpenH264 codec plugin because it's automatic.
Assume I did every garbage retard method like clearing cookies too.
WTF else can I do?

OpenH264 is a piece of shit and even geoblocked so some parts of the world can't even use it.

If I can't even play tf2 then I'm legit going to chimpout and install Windows 11
seriously what the fuck is this shit

Try forcing the Proton version instead of using the native Linux build.
>>
Why do more applications support VA-API than NVDEC despite both APIs supporting the same codecs? If it's because the former is older than the latter, than how come VDPAU isn't supported by something as popular as Firefox?

this wont let you connect to valve servers

It worked without flaw before the dist-upgrade. I do not believe that it just suddenly is insufficient, something broke somewhere.
>>106751179
That's a workaround not a fix.

>this wont let you connect to valve servers
Is this a recent change? I played it exclusively through Proton a year or two ago and I was playing it on the official servers with my friends.
>>
>>106751595
Might be the reverse, I looked into it and there are threads from over two years ago complaining that it didn't work. But nothing recently, when I tried it back then it would throw up a vac error.
>>
>>106751419
Because VA-API is an open standard, while VDPAU/NVDEC are nvidia-specific.

use chatgpt you incompetent morons.
>>
>>106751681
They might have changed it now that they consider Proton as the standard Linux gaming platform. I definitely played TF2 with Proton in the post-SteamDeck era.
>>
>>106751750
Youre better off installing arch so you actually understand what each of the default packages are for but realistically chatgpt Will handhold you so who cares
>>
>>106751750
Meh. I'm sure you can manage to install something else when it breaks. Any retard can setup cachyOS but good luck maintaining it when it makes Desktop profile Arch look like a distro for mission critical servers.
>>
>>106751826
Dont worry i plan on learning arch stuff and linux in general too.
I have a good feeling with cashy after setting all my software up and using some start menu shell skripts from gpt and documentation. Kde feels so good after the default windows11 slop but yea mb i will install mint for stability. What do u guys think of opensuse slowroll or tumbleweed for corporate grade stability but still not completely outdated packages?

I've been using pop os on a server for about 6 months now, and I'm having problems getting my nftables postrouting to work. I love pop for desktop, but I'm thinking I need to find a new distro. I need a gui because I suck. Maybe debian? Would love other suggestions.
>>
>>106752307
>pop os on a server
... I can't even.

>Maybe debian?
Sure. Or some redhat variant if you can deal with SELinux.
>>
>>106752307
yes, use Debian. it's ultimately the upstream of PopOS.
>>
>>106752307
I have a firewall on my router and that's about it.
if you have a port listening and you don't want it to then you configured your software wrong, or it's bad software
>>
>>106752307
>pop os on a server
At the time, the only gpu I had access to was a 550ti, which wouldn't work with ubuntu's gui. I asked here and pop was recommended because of the inbuilt nvidia support. I've since upgraded to a 3090 and am ready to move on. Still love it on desktop though.

>>106752327
Thanks

>>106752344
My server renders after effects and runs my ai shenanigans on the 3090, has a 64TB RAIDZ2 pool for work, and moonlights as a minecraft server. EVERYTHING goes in and out through wireguard, and much of it runs in a vm. I can't get pop to stop overwriting my nftables no matter what I try though.
>>
Is there any Linux GUI distro that ships with Clonezilla (other than Clonezilla live itself), in the same way most distros also ship their ISOs with grub-install and Memtest ?

>>106751767
I shall never use Abominable Intelligence
>>
>>106752123
Stability wise they're all pretty much the same, try it in a vm though because the package management is kind of ass in opensuse
