I am running out of shit to buy so RIP the economy from now on.
>>106761647where are you going anon :(
>>106761781not really sure how some of you are able to code all day, specially when working from home after almost two years, i really feel like i'm about to become insane, but to be fair my team is extremely retarded, so maybe that's the root of my insanity
>>106761930Team is also extremely retarded and after four years I've unironically developed a serious drinking problem
>>106761808what anime is your gif related from?
>>106761989Sabagebu!its alright for an anime about girls shooting airsoft guns at each others. kejiosimilar to that scene itself is an anime where girls play a sport about hitting each others off platforms into water with their butts
>>106761930let's just say it's been wearing me down the last decade and today was supposed to be the start of my 6th sober october
>>106761781New client has their own idea of what our product should do and gets upset when it doesn't do that. What do?
>>106762143Charge them alot of money to add the features. This what Microsoft did with their word processors/Excel/SQL ect.
>>106762161That's a good idea.
>Government shutdown means travel is suspended and won't be able to do my week per month in the office this monthOh no, this is horrible guys
>have good day at work>near shift-end>becomes shitty day
>>106762354It means you will have to do 2 weeks in the office next time.
DANGODANGODANGODANGODANGODAIKAZOKU!!!!
>>106761781Is this edible?
>be me>be in possession of a particular set of skills>there's an outfit trying to hire me>they're quite controversial in their field>be willing to take their money but I'm not a True BelieverHow do I start the "you gonna have to pay me more to go against my morals" conversation?
AGI not possibru CS is saved
Honest question: is data engineering a grifter/fake "job"?Seems like it can mean anything, totally dependent on role. I have a job writing sql and oracle pl/sql and I'm trying to branch out to a higher paying role and something involving data seems like the most logical next step, but I don't really know what to do
okay:i think humanities/lit/philosophy/theology majors would make it better and further in tech than compsci majors lol
>>106762546Lockheed? Northrup? TI? General Dynamics?
>>106762599Gayer than that
>>106762559No lol go back to Creddit with your brain dead ideas. Silver tongued retards are not going to learn the concepts as easily as someone that has a degree in it already.
>>106762626If they support troons, niggers or jews they shouldn't be able to pay you enough
>>106762636tell me why the blue hair with gender studies are the ones with jobs right now
>>106762643You need fuck-you money to make those kinds of distinctions, I'm not quite there yet obviously
>>106762661Blackrock loansAlso they just renamed it like all commies do so no its not a goal that has been removed. https://www.fnlondon.com/articles/blackrock-scraps-dei-goals-creates-talent-and-culture-group-3f34678f
>>106762556when you see someone is good at talking and finessing people while not having as much technical competence do you see them as kiss ass, yes man, or incompetent?
>>106762592She lost money with Napoleon.
>>106762559this would be true if the boer wasn't being gatekept by HR roasties
I wonder if there were tech workers thousand of years ago. Maybe there was a /twg/ with hieroglyphics.
>>106762947They are called engineers. These same engineers is what built bridges, aqueducts, roads, fortifications ect. The military still teaches its best and brightest these same/similar concepts to any kid that goes through the academy for its officers. Likewise they do the same with selecting other officers from people who have engineering/tech/medical degrees if it can it would only hire these people for its officer core.
>>106762947>"Weep, you girls. My penis has given you up. Now it penetrates menβs behinds. Goodbye, wondrous femininity!"
>>106762965So why do you call yourselves "tech workers" rather than engineers? I think thinking of yourself as an engineer is more empowering than a "tech worker."
>>106763101Major reason is licensing. Real reason is that you can only call yourself that with experience since even in IT certs/masters degrees aren't everything. You do in fact solve big picture problems but only after a decade or more of job experience and a job that trusts you to create or solve these expensive problems. Besides if a license is required then colleges would be required to adhere to that standard same way they do for engineering degrees with ABET accreditation. Most people don't want it neither do companies require it. Personally i would love it since it would for a filter on the industry to at least have some bare minimum IQ standards aka anti-jeet defence.
>>106763101Tbqh the reason is originally this thread was called something like "Career General" but a similar thread got banned by neets from /biz/ for being off topic so it was suggested to be renamed to tech workers"Tech worker" is now unfortunately something of a meme because of tiktok foids with PR jobs calling themselves "tech workers"
>>106763101Also, I call myself an engineer just because my job title is officially Software Engineer and it sounds cooler but "Developer" is more accurate because none of the code monkey bullshit I do can be compared to engineering, lmao
>>106763101to be an engineer you have to pass a test. I make crud apps. It's like calling yourself a doctor when you have a phd in some bullshit like womens studies
>>106761930I wish I was coding all day instead of meetings, email, Jiras and more bullshit shit to do
I just applied for a job at tiktok*does a little floss*
>>106763468this nigga wants to work for jews lmao
>>106763496do you think I give two shits or a fuck who I'm working forI'd work for any CEO who gives me a good job
>>106763521here's your 30 pieces, nigga
>>106763525yeah and who do you work for, the catholic church?
>>106763496Tiktok isn't a CCP asset anymore??
>>106763564it stopped being a CCP asset years agonow it got "sold" (forcibly under government coercion, thanks zion don) to (((larry ellison))), the largest private donor to the IDF in history :)
>>106763596tiktok has not been sold you schizo
>>106763611Fucks sake I literally would have believed this and thought I missed some news about it
>>106763729you did, and he's a retard >Enterprise tech giant Oracle, Silver Lake and the Abu Dhabi-based MGX investment fund will be main investors in TikTokβs U.S. business, controlling a roughly 45% stake in the entity, while ByteDance investors and new holders will own 35%, CNBCβs David Faber reported earlier Thursday. >TikTokβs algorithm will be overseen by Oracle in the US after the sale is completedthe deal is basically complete and they're already censoring anti israel content. oracle has been hosting the servers that tiktok runs off of for years.
>>106763853>Basically complete Aka not sold Your dad was "basically" going to pull out, but he didn't so now we have to deal with your posts
>>106763865>Aka not sold
>>106763871Correct, not sold
the "you end up refactoring every system 2-3 times" thing is killing me. every time i get something to a good place another key system needs to be refactored.
>>106763885Refactoring is just a euphemism for fixing technical debt left behind by people who had already job hopped to other companies.
I miss working at a normal tech job where I didn't have to worry about getting stack ranked, perverse incentives like using how much you use and promote AI use as a factor in performance evaluations, pip quotas, being completely on your own in everything I do, and constantly feeling like I don't work hard enough when I feel like I spend every waking moment either working or upskilling for interviews. If only I knew back then just how good I had it
>>106763948/utwg/ is thataway retard
>>106763853i'm pretty sure this is not only not legal but also not how corporations let alone markets work.
>>106764128You can upskill for interviews while being employed, dummy
>>106764162Why are you too stupid to have a proper job already? Did you have enough oxygen during birth?
>>106764169You are seeking needles conflictRelax in the sun
>>106762542You silly boy! :3
>>106764176>sunHmmm what time is it right now in india? Oh? About 8 AM huh? I guess you have a long day of shilling ahead!
I love working at DeLoitte, the ultimate tech company!
>>106763468BasedWho doesn't like getting paid for shitposting?
>>106762947the ancient egyptians literally had a god of technology. literally he is the god of "magic" but most references to "magic" in ancient egypt mostly had to do with natural law (a lot of it having to do with engineering or architecture) and technology/technique was essentially synonymous with magic. he was also the patron god of clerks and doctors and loosely associated with the moon but mostly due to timekeeping with a lunar calandar. and they wrote a bunch of gay fanfic about himhistorians say that the egyptians were a very pragmatic/practical people, about as obsessed with engineering as 00s redditors are with science, which is why they could build such massive projects with pretty shit math and basically no notable discovery or understanding of anything other than building shit. they literally had a deity just for "it just werks"
>>106764301Don't you ever get tired of being so unbelievably wrong?
>>106764200I sat there twiddling my thumbs and panic jumped the moment I realized I had been twiddling my thumbs for an entire yearI kinda wish I had stayed a bit longer to see how long I could squat for, but I had pip PTSD from the year before
>>106764419How did you get into a pip
>>106764421Famous pip company + I got poached and discarded by slimy chinks looking for an extra head
My boss gave me a day off as a reward for completing/solving/closing the highest amount of request, changes and incidents this month. Wish it had been a bonus, but oh well, it's better than nothing I suppose.
>>106764200why did deloitte become such a meme? isn't it just a brokerage and general admin outsourcing company? why the association with tech?
>>106764301Stop posting this fucking shit you nigger.
>>106764301Anime website not a furry website. Get the fuck off of the internet we have no board for you faggots to contain into because we don't want you on this website.
>>106764438Cute picture, sweetie! :3>>106764455>being this butt hurt!Calm down, you silly boy! c:
>>106764200>>106764419>>106764445Oh what is this companyI was just looking at a new devs code and wondering where the fuck he possibly could have come from and it was Deloitte
Uhhh there like some crazy corporate takeover happening in my C-Suite... My CEO is now Indian, are we cooked? He like christian indian though, not hindu, but regardless we have a lot of Jeets.
>>106764512"Consulting" at its finestIf his longest experience was at Deloitte I wouldn't count on him
You now realise "Deloitte" is meant to make you think of "Delight"
This job is making feel like a retard, but nothing else would pay as much
>>106764623>DeloitteMakes me think of the Doolittle raid
>>106764512afaik people outsource to them but mostly for administrative tasks that arent HR, and mostly financial ones at that. stuff like payroll or risk assessment. they dont make software and if anyone there does its probably either as a contractor or making some satanic piece of "peopleware"
>>106764693Yeah because you're a frickin nerd
Peopleware more like you people wear me down
learn a trade
>>106764704>making some satanic piece of "peopleware"Yeah, like fed websites maybe. Maybe
>>106762680how did they get so powerful in the first place? and dont say "jews" because dei and dei-like initiatives measurably lose money which is antithetical to jewry
>>106764561He had like a year there and little else. I'm very tempted to share details but am paranoid about airing specific enough dirty laundry, but long story short he wasted more than two hours of my day on something unbelievably simple I actually had to go out of my way to find his resume.>>106764704It's my company's fault desu. They are so unbelievably retarded hiring him in a development role doesn't even surprise me at this point. I'm actually convinced now he probably passed the code interview with one of those cheat software things, he seems like that type based on things he's told me in unsolicited conversations. Hell he probably cheated through college
DEI means "of God"
Does anybody on here know anything about working at aero/defense companies? I got an offer and it's pretty much the same as another offer but I have very little knowledge in the industry/space. Is there less pajeets in this industry or has aero/defense been sold out to India as well? Am trying to avoid them as much as possible. If you were in my shoes would you take the offer? my current job is almost guaranteed to get axed soon, and am looking for a new one. If I stay here the only real pro is that I could get severance possibly.
>>106762599>Lockheed? Northrup? TI? General Dynamics?Similar position as this guy, what's the catch with these companies? the pay is decent enough, how's the work life balance? seems interesting, plus the OG skunkworks idea seems pretty based.
goodnight /twg/...
>>106764844>>106764824i got a job at oneive been sitting on my ass for over a month waiting for access passes but supposedly it's a good time to get in because everyone is stepping up defense spending but in a pennywise way so its mostly upgrading/maintaining legacy platforms for air and land and sea is made of fudds who print money for contractors because ship systems are 99% kludge even before you get to the missiles
>>106764729LOL jews own the currency the real cost of business is not the money being lost its the fact that there methods are slow. I would rather have the world be nuked with the 12,000 nukes in the world arsenal than what is going on right now but they would lose total control of the situation and might actually reverse the progress they have been making to destroy us.
>>106765024
>>106765093Sure retard people really just do things because their stupid and not out of malice or whatever gay razor theory you fags like to post about to hecking dunk on people.
>>106765147There might be a middle ground between that and wanting to nuke the entire world
>>106765164Yeah start WW3 draft white people to die for a pointless war and then replace them all with indians
I currently have a fulltime SDE job that is remote that I like. How bad of an idea is it to do PC repair for extra cash on the side/weekends in my community? I used to work a mom and pop PC repair shop and have my A+ cert already but haven't done that kinda work in awhile or on my own.
>internal recruiting decided to go external for new roleWelp, there's that. Probably want a jeet on lower salary instead of promoting current employees to a higher salary.
>>106764824Once you're in the defence industry you'll never leave. Very limited number of jeets unless they've been in the country for 20+ years. Sadly that isn't long enough for them to lose the accent.
>>106764824Sounds like you're on defence about it
Everywhere I look is three or even four days in the office, one place was two days. It's so fucking over
>>106765375Typical complaining millennial. In my day we had to go into the office 5 days a week and working from home didn't even exist as a concept. This is why you can't afford to buy a home.
>>106765405no the difference is i worked 10 hours a day and another 4 at home after work. I could just WFH and complete the work in 6 hours instead.
>>106765428Sounds like you aren't willing to put in the effort.
>>106764531rest in cow piss, if you are white it is so over you don't even have a chance to recover. How many times did you witness unjeetification? That's your answer
>>106764693for me its toilette
>>106765278depends, helping others could be awesome, doing it for the money sounds like wasted opportunity, with the same effort you could probably grind more $$$ in your current position and I don't see pc repair outscaling SDEthat said it cost you next to nothing to dip your toes
I just don't want to work anymore.
