Not gonna lie Chub is kinda cool now that I'm really getting around to it. Some of the characters on there are pretty good at immersion and staying in character. There are times when the memory is kinda fuzzy though huh. I don't think it would be all that good for DnD roleplay.
>>106778317I don't give a shit about botniggers but you're beyond delusional if you think RAG is in any way usable for someone with the average slop tolerance of /aicg/. Or that RAG usage would somehow... eliminate the need for handwritten prose?

It's low-key kinda funny how gemini will always rate its slop higher than other (not famous) authors when asked to compare anonymised excerpts. The latest judgement I've gotten on its own work is "god-tier". At least you know gemini's giving its best every time.
>>106779318If this is geminis best I'd hate to see it's worst.
Is sonnet 4.5 the best model at JP > EN TL?
>>106778760cringe asf
>>106779346Its worst is actually somewhat serviceable. The trick I'm trying to tease out is how to disentangle this more creative, less polished mode with grug-tier syntax. The best success I've had is with having a human-written prefill, but it's still a gamble and the output returns to the mean after ~6 paragraphs max.
Is this what deepseek api supposed to look like? I don't know why it works on first prompt and then it gets sporadic and starts working less and less on subsequent only giving empty replies half the time . I'm guessing cache shit
>>106779411>human-written prefillAs opposed to what? You aren't letting bots write your prompts are you?
>>106779422Use Opus 4.1, cuckie
Also the thinking doesn't show up and starts each response now as of today with "<|endofthinking|>”
I don't even need gemini 3, just a gemini 2.6 positivity patch would be enough
Deepchink gives such short responses, to think this is what they keep shillingBack to claude I go
>>106779429As opposed to a normal jb, OOC, or thinking prefill. To be clear, I mean dump as much of the written/good story context into the prefill as you can, leaving with an unfinished sentence so gemini is strongly predisposed to acting like a base model and continuing the document. And no, sadly I've never had any luck with recursive prompt improvement/bot-generated prompts. The closest that has worked is starting a chat and just telling it how to improve its style as the chat progresses. But this doesn't transfer between chats and floods the context with potentially unwanted events/characterisations/etc. I only really do this recursive-like prompting to search for keywords and get insight into how the model thinks.

These days I don't even write greetings, I begin with some narration about where I am or how I'm interacting with char. Regardless, that article was about how RAG would help LLMs stay in character during interactions with hostile users. It's not really for our usecase, except the occasional anon screeching about "she/her" spam or whatever. If anything it's bad for us because OOC commenting will be much harder.
>>106781010Various ways. Makes me think the model is badly quantised because there's muddling & discontinuity. Try asking or eliciting for wattpad-style writing, or "lower quality", or "simple, direct, unornamented". One way to discover a working prompt is ask it to make a table comparing the style of a human-written sample and a gemini-written sample, anonymously of course, and then use that table with "do/don't" headers for prompting. Or even just ask it to use the analysis it just made to write some more in the style of the human text you'll often get something grug-brained if it's deemed the human work "simpler". May want to mention ellipsis as that seems to have a positive effect. As for how to make it high-quality... that depends on your taste. This method just shakes it out of isms (spamming appositive & descriptive phrases, useless metaphor, farcical attempts at building tension/atmodphere). Once there, it's relatively easy to steer it to more unusual/imaginative writing so long as it's in grug syntax. However, I'd recommend leaning into the zoomie/wattpad vectors for something entertaining to read. Increasing temperature and encouraging typos helps with this. Also, keep in mind that gemini appears to perceive style as being separated into a lot of different components, ones I can't pin to human language. My advice given that is to not see style as something you can prompt with a line or paragraph, but something that receives definition from a lot of different angles. Genre, mood/tone, audience, author personality, text/author history/context, writing skill, writing taste, use of devices, etc., etc. Sorry I can't hand you pure coom on a platter. This is all still very ad-hoc as I feel out the model.

>>106781467I agree that style is more than language, like writing structures, narrative structures etc. You can even tell if an author is left wing or right wing from the theme. So why focus so much on the isms? They're the most surface level part of the style, I don't think they're steering a lot.
