at the minimum you want something that provides enough airflow and doesn't cause dust to enter to clog everything. having no airflow causes issues for everything. having no case to allow airflow makes dust clog it all up. unless you got one of those gpus with magnetic fans just get a good case.

I already bought the PSU and MoBo on sale, unless there’s something wrong with them I don’t plan on returning them. Though maybe I bought them too early when I don’t have the other parts.

The RAM brand doesn’t matter, but would I need more than 32GBs if Im not doing much other than gaming? If it goes on sale for a decent price, maybe I’ll shoot for 64GB.

Thanks for linking that chart, I’ll likely get the 7800x3d instead. I won’t lie, despite the chart I am still kind of holding out for 9800x3d going on sale but if a good 9070xt price comes out, I’ll stick with the 7800x3d buy them both so I can start building. Even though the difference is marginal performance wise, I still want the “better” performing card for long term

techtubers tell their audience they NEED the 9800X3D to play fortnite or they will be left behind
that audience goes to reddit and tells everyone about how great the 9800X3D is
reddit encourages groupthink so any dissenting opinion is downvoted into oblivion
AI models are trained on reddit so when normalfags ask the magic chat app in their phone what they should buy it always answers AMD

this is how you win the DIY market

It's a bitch to apply if you want to spread it evenly.
It will not stick to the IHS like normal paste at least not at the room temperature.
I simply made a swastika pattern without spreading it and the cooler pressure did the rest.

am I a dummy for still being on ddr4? I want to upgrade to 64gb of ram(possibly 128) and the prices are so much higher than what I was expecting. they are similar to ddr5 prices. not only that but the selection of ddr4 ram at those capacities appears to be at least 10 times less than ddr5 ram. like the industry has fully moved on.

3080 ti 12gb 2nd or new 5060 8gb

5060 is about as powerful as a 3070. 3080 Ti is a solid step up from that, right between the 4070 and 5070. Always get the 3080 Ti as long as your PSU can handle the higher power draw. That's assuming both are priced somewhere around 300-350 euro.

Right, and people are buying them to play video games, the intended purpose. I'm not sure what fantasy world you live in, but the only high performance computing need the average person may have (if any) is running video games. It has recently come to my attention that virtually ALL monitors are using dogshit mediatek chips as scalers. I mean like 99.9% of them. I read up on this after Nvidia announced they were ditching their stupid fucking GSync modules and allowing mediatek to implement it in their chips. There is no escape from them. It's one of the main reasons that VRR has random flickering issues with random configurations and why color accuracy is so fucked across the board for "prosumer" monitors. Buying a monitor fucking sucks and I hate it.

The monitor cartel needs to be broken up again. Fuck this market holy shit

Gsync's implementation was genuinely better and I'm saying this as someone who has only bought AMD and is still using a fucking Vega64 with a viewsonic Freesync monitor. The scaler chips they designed had a much higher range of frames they worked in which was the main reason you would even really need VRR in the first place. Yes it's nice at higher framerates but at lower ones it's way, way more important to have.

Seriously read up on how dogshit the PWM implementation is by Mediatek and you'll see why them having a complete monopoly on the scaler chip market is a really fucking bad thing. The actual professional market standard, Flanders, refuses to use them and made their OWN FPGA just to ensure color accuracy on their monitors. It's not just marketing bullshit I promise you

Idåsen is 3mm and is thicker vs 1.9mm on Mittzon, idåsen is a full 160x80, Mittzon has a cutout and is 160x68 or whatever it is on the 160x80 full, which also means it has slit for cable management and stuff, but has the cable management collector thingy behind it - which will be problematic if you wanna arm stand mount monitors

>Legs
Mittzon has better C legs for mobility shit, Idåsen has A legs at the bottom which slightly hampers mobility, but is more stable

>Electric adjustment
Mittzon has 2 saved modes and up down vs Idåsen which has just up down with a lever, plus the lever is placed closer to the center than absolute sides which is more annoying, not sure u can choose spot on Idåsen but on Mittzon it's left or right, think it's on both
Mittzon also has 2 hooks on either side

My ideal table would just be a giant slab with C legs and the button placement places far away on sides but apparently they don't even wanna make that maybe some where else has that
actually now that I remember it pretty much I am describing the Secretlab magnus pro, but it also has a cuck slit, but the controller is integrated in the table so it doesnt cuck your chair so, but it's a 1150€ table so eh

You don't need a CPU made in this decade for WoW if you don't mind stuttering and abysmal 1% lows.
>>
>>106867874
Because its open source, it has the pros and cons of open source. one of the cons is its up to whoever uses it to define the actual thing. look at android. its linux which is open and free as possible but so google gayfied it may as well be proprietary thats why custom roms still go on.

If you're a hardcore raider you need X3D because all those addons are in LUA and LUA only gets a huge speedup from increasing L3 or single core perf. since single core perf is stagnated the only thing left is L3.

I want to be clear that I don't think that Gsync is inherently better simply because it was closed source bullshit. I'm saying it's because that they had a dedicated module which genuinely performed better than mediatek which is all any monitor maker uses. Freesync does the job and for cheap but without a better chip, it runs into a lot of issues.

I am literally just talking about a hardware difference. IIRC gsync modules ended up being Freesync compatible over the last few years so it didn't even matter anyways

to be fair i haven't tried war within but it ran fine even on my old 5800X in DF

there's zero chance that's true on all chipsets. Check the block diagrams

Not even just that, I play on warmane and have noticed how much better cities and WG run moving to 3D v cache. It's like Intel's old L4 cache.

did you really have FPS issues in 3.3.5 with your old rig lmao
i think i'm starting to understand what the experience of using a PC is like for your average /pcbg/ poster

I also configured a high end PC just to see the price point. I haven't done the comparison but it seems ridiculous

remember that it was never about value or price to performance for amdfags

an intel "fanboy" at least acknowledges when the other team has an objectively better product. that being said, if nova lake is good, i will be going back to intel.

Make sure you use DXVK. Your CPU is bottlenecked in all MMOs if you don't use it. DirectX 11 sucks at multi thread and draw calls.

You're changing graphics APIs and the if you're not underaged you will remember that API wars were a thing and every old game let you select a API like OpenGL, Glide, DirectX, etc.

Vulkan is using better compiler and code than DirectX so it can process draw calls faster and without pausing the graphics renderer.

My PC suddenly turned off and won't turn back on.
It's a relatively brand new PC, built it around January.
I can't even remember all the specs, 4080 super and a bunch of other good parts. I'm stressed out and can't recall.
I cleaned it out, dusted it and stuff nice, and still nothing. I tried different outlets too. Nothing.
If I unplug the wire and plug it back in, then try turning the PC on, I hear the faintest possible little buzz, like one tiny "bzz" and that's it. What are the chances the PSU is just dead, and it's not like a motherboard thing. I don't have any spare fans to like, unplug my PSU, and plug in just a fan to my PSU to test it. I'm so stressed.
>>
>>106868320
Does the motherboard light up or the fans? If you get no lights it's either dead Mobo or dead PSU.
>>
>>106868320
relax
are there any lights on the motherboard
do fans spin at all
do you have a spare psu to test? if not, get one
if still nothing, get another mobo to test
>>
>>106866894
>>Avoid ASRock AM5 boards, CPU degradation issues still reported.
well what motherboard do i buy then
why is there a whole autism website for SSDs but not motherboards they are far more complicated
>>
>>106868042
7500F so you're on AM5 and can always upgrade to Zen 6 or Zen 7 in a few years if necessary. Plus you get faster DDR5 RAM.
>>
>>106868337
asus, msi, gigabyte
they're all chinkium brands with the same awful customer support so you are screwed regardless, but at least your cpu has a lower chance if suddenly dying
>>
>>106868261
You trade more GPU overhead for less CPU overhead. In various games this is well worth it the cost especially if you have a OP system.
>>
>>106866894
I got filtered by PSUs. My PC uses 450w max and I have a 850 W PSU.
Offline, online, line-teractive, 'smart'. I am not sure what to get. My guess I that I need at least 1200 VA, but which type?
>>
>>106868320
well my psu just died maybe it didn't want to go alone
>>
>>106868357
i assume you mean ups
get something that matches your psu wattage
get a pure or simulated sine wave one
get something preferably from APC as they have incredible customer support (advanced RMAs)
never get a used ups
>>
Do I need windows 11 for a 14600K
