I think HDMI 2.1 mostly matters if you're console gaming and want VRR compatibility.
DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 offers maximum bandwidth and doesn't need DSC for higher res/refresh rate, but this is a novelty at this point (with very few monitors supporting this).

If you want an HDR-capable monitor, look for these certifications.
DisplayHDR 1000 (or higher) for miniLED.
DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 or 500 for OLED monitors (the higher the better).

Check out some PCIe Gen 3 x16 video card benchmarks.
There's a performance penalty if your card only has x8 active lanes (G4 x8 to G3 x8).
The performance hit isn't usually that bad for cards with x16 PCie lanes.

I'm ready to upgrade my ancient PC, everything still works but the CPU (an i7 7700) is feeling a bit slow now.
I'm keeping my 3060ti, so what would be a good AMD mother/CPU combo to pair with that card? Anything modern would be an improvement over my old i7 I assume. From what I understand, any AM4 cooler would work with AM5 as long as it doesn't need its own backplate. It's hard to tell where this cooler falls under in that regard.

I have the PG32UDCP and the main thing I bought it for was because there was no fan. Aside from firmware differences it's not any different than the others for that particular LG WOLED panel.
The Asus also has a KVM but aside from using it on my phone once for Dex, I've never used it again.
Not sure what the differences between the Samsung OLEDs are but I'm sure the differences are similar.

Mine was like $50 more than the others, but I wouldn't pay hundreds of dollars more for no fan. The stands on Asus monitors are also ass so take that into consideration too

When it was a Noctua at $80 and an Arctic AIO was similar, you might as well get the AIO if you aren't paranoid. That's the rational explanation.
Now that a high-end air cooler can be had for under $40, it doesn't make as much sense for an AIO.

My own personal illogical conspiracy is that AIOs where a high margin item and thus you had people shilling for them for the good of the companies making them. But since Thermalright has brutalized the AIO market just like they did the heatsink market, it's no longer a cash cow.
I honesty think what's why mainstream reviewers avoided Thermalright AIOs for so long and some continue to avoid them because how can you go back to selling $150 360mm AIOs when TR is selling them for $60?

I don't have any experience with the Arctic but I have bought a TR.
I think you might have difficulties if you never installed an AIO before, I had issues with a TR because the tubes where tugging on the block making it had for the screws to catch.
I would by a TR again because it's going to be easier a second time and $50 vs $90 for an arctic is kinda of a no brainer for my cheap ass

These things are kinda ass unfortunately.
They work by using a virtual GPU and they use compression to send it down USB
Since this "GPU" is software based it takes lots of CPU power.
The use case is for adding a second screen or even multiple screens and they can support some really high resolution displays but it's meant for office work, don't expect any real acceleration

Not a game changer but it certainly is different. Mostly in the available amount of customization. You can change the pressure it takes to press a key, if you want a tactile bump or no bump at all. Certain ones you can change how far down you have to press the key to activate it. You can also change what keys do what, although some non mechanical keyboards can do that as well.
There's a large world of hobbiest mechanical keyboard stuff. But if you just want to dip your toes there's a bunch of 50-100 dollar mech keyboards on amazon that are very good.

That said you can upgrade your cpu if you want, a 7600 is a perfectly fine chip but its on the more "budget" side of things right now, you can always get a 78003xd and just switch them for a flat out performance gain and try to sell the 7600 2nd hand

This is for music production / video editing
I use a lot of VST-s, plugins so I need a good CPU. I chose this one because on a youtube vid some producer was using some slightly worse model than this one and it worked great, there were no stutters even with a lot of instances of vsts. I plan to also play a game or two here and there.

SN7100 or SN850X would be my SSD choice.
There's a Pure Power 13 M, I would get that over the 12 M.
If you get an AIO, check whether it fits that case. You'd want to install the radiator at the top (280 or 360mm radiator compatibility for the top is recommended).
