COMMON LIES BEING PERPETRATED BY TROLLS AND SHILLS ITT DEBOONKED 1/2

>RADEON HAS BAD DRIVERS!!!
They have been fine for years and have the same amount of problems that Nvidia drivers have or less. Most problems occur with productivity applications which is why Radeon gpus are not recommended for workstations. If you are just gaming you are unlikely to ever have any issues, especially if you only update to the latest driver when you need to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lv4-poQOyo

In contrast for the first few months Blackwell had major driver issues that are only now mostly fixed. Premium day one GeForce buyers that paid the nviditax had a worse early adopter experience than Radeon buyers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTXoUsdSAnA

>RADEON HAS CPU OVERHEAD!!!!
It does not. Nvidishills likes to spam charts of cherry picked DX 11 games like KCD that do not play well with radeon but in reality if anything Nvidia has a worse overhead in CPU limited scenarios. Screenshot and videos below for proof.
https://imgur.com/a/A5MIHM6

Radeon "CPU Overhead" in Warzone chart that the Nvidishill used to spam debunked: https://imgur.com/a/yy3MZRS

>9000 SERIES MSRP AND SUPPLY WAS A LIE!!!
Nvidia normally supplies over half of the market, this time they made almost no GPU's and AMD despite making a large amount of cards is unable to fufill all of this demand effectively. The result is a low supply high demand market and increased prices. However besides the US which is also impacted by tariffs the 9070 XT in many regions with some effort can be purchased for around 700 dollars or less. The card will likely go back down to MSRP around January next year when the Supers from Nvidia come out to remain competitive.

>FSR4 IS IN NO GAMES!!!
Almost every game that has upscaling can be easily modded with Optiscaler to support FSR4. The result is better than native image quality in games with bad TAA. Cyberpunk 2077 before native support was added could be modded with Optiscaler, the game can run ultra RT at 80-90 fps and 50-60 fps pathtracing with good image quality using FSR4 on quality mode.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNzI-TBV--A
https://github.com/cdozdil/OptiScaler

Native FSR4 integration will get better into the future with many games planned to have support added this year. Because of AMD's collaboration with Sony on Project Amethyst and PSSR it's likely that all future games with a console release will have FSR4 on PC.
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/processors/the-amd-x-sony-collab-gave-us-fsr4-and-a-version-will-appear-in-playstation-next-year-too-having-already-started-to-implement-the-new-neural-network-on-ps5-pro/

>WHERE ARE OTHER FEATURES TO MATCH NVIDIA AND WHY IS PT PERFOMANCE WORSE?!?!
FSR Redstone which is coming out before the end of the year should noticeably improve Pathtracing perfomance and match nearly all Nvidia features such as Ray Reconstruction and AI Framegen.
https://videocardz.com/newz/fsr-redstone-on-track-amd-promises-dedicated-presentation

>ZEN 5 IS MELTING ON ASROCK!!!!!!!
There is no conclusive evidence for what the cause is yet. Zen 5 and the 9800X3D in particular have sold very well and most people haven't had any issues. It's possible there was a bad batch of processors and ASRock motherboards have BIOS settings that are worsening the problem, or the fault may entirely be with ASRock, there isn't enough information to make any kind of conclusion yet. For now just avoid ASRock boards to be safe and you will likely be fine like the thousands of other people who have bought and used these CPUs for months with no problem.

I have a desktop that's kinda sitting around not doing anything at the moment with an old OS SSD in it that I still want to keep. I want to install a new version of windows and use it pretty much just for some CAD stuff. the computer can handle the requirements just fine but I want a new SSD to install win10 or whatever on. I don't have an m.2 slot so it needs to be SATA.

What's the cheapest SATA SSD that's at least around 120GB that won't shit the bed within a year? I'm still in school so I'm fine buying something kinda cheap just to do some stuff on the computer until I get an actual job.

You mean the XG27AQWMG? That's what I'm deciding to trade my current monitor (G61SD) for, it looks promising. I can't find any downsides about it though, not sure if I'm being misled by something, seems too good to be true for its price ($599)

The problem is that the return date for my current monitor is at 11/19, so I'm not sure. And I'm not exactly made of money. Do you think it'll be rare to find one at that price, kind of like how the GPU's sell? I'm hoping not, same thing already happened to me with the 9070 xt and it sold out before I had the chance to buy it at the same day.

The final frontier of upscaling is handling occlusion artifacts, the distortion around edges of very distinct objects and surfaces, including UI. Dust particles causing outsized ghosting is related I think. Once they fix that though, literally nowhere to go except refinements and more efficiency. Kind of like PCIe 5.0 having so much bandwidth that you will never need an upgrade for a very long time?

This is one topic that purely agnostic solutions like the Yellow Duck cannot deal with. I think to truly solve the problem the game needs to render part of the scene behind the moving object and feed that info to the upscaler.

UPSIREN Thermal Putty UTP8 was so annoying to apply that I wished I had went with pads instead. I used an entire 50g bottle and it wasnt even enough for all the pads, the pads I removed weighted around 32g

memory junction temps are relatively high so I wonder did I paste them poorly but its within limits

It's a promotional pricing to get more launch momentum and hype, just like the matte 4th gen WOLED LG 27GX700A-B, which is now selling for $850.
Amazon Prime & the official LG online store discounted it to $599 for a limited time.

You're not completely happy with that Samsung OLED anyway. I'd use the old monitor if you still have it while you find a better OLED monitor.
It's fine to live with that Samsung OLED if you can't deal with all this (returning, waiting™, tracking availability, etc.)

How long do you think that'll last? Do you think stocks will go by quickly? I'm fine with waiting™, but it would suck to not have a good monitor, although I am also using a secondary monitor (1080p 75hz) right now, so I'll obviously manage if everything goes fine. You have to be either extremely unlucky with a flawed batch or pretty retarded to cause the power connector to melt on that 5080 (360W Stock, 390W maximum). It has enough safety margin.

Even the RTX 6000 Pro Blackwell Server PCIe card is spec'd to draw 600W from that connector.

Samsung needed to supply cheaper 1440p HDR TrueBlack 500 QD-OLED panels this year, and sell some 4K TB500 panels.

I believe they tested three different Liquid Freezers (one they owned, one they newly bought, and one sent by Arctic).
It's not a disaster given the price, build quality, and overall customer service.
It could be the shape of the cold plate that may have prioritized Intel IHS.

Ryzen being this popular among gamers is a relatively new thing; most of the CPU cooling R&D went into optimizing Intel CPUs.
That's also why it took so long to get an Apex motherboard for an AMD platform.

Watch a youtube video to familiarize yourself with the steps. Have it ready on your phone to refer to.

Some stupid problems people are not removing cooler protection plastic.
Installing cpu wrong way.
Bending pins from mishandling or dropping am4 cpu. Spreading thermal paste on the wrong side of cpu.

Failing to plug everything in correctly, using force to plug something in incorrectly which either ruins the component or the mobo socket.
>>
the answer is simple, radeon is incapable of achieving competitive framerates in counter strike due to a catastrophic lack of GPU horsepower
>>
>>106980414
Radeon managed to make a GPU that loses to the 3080 while chugging more power with a 2 generation process node advantage, the incompetence of the Radeon engineering team is only eclipsed by the incompetence of radeons software development team with 5 second long macrostutters, driver timeouts and blackscreens plaguing users
it makes perfect sense why their market share has plummeted to a horrendous 6%, gamers are smart enough to only be fooled into purchasing a Radeon product once

None of my stuff uses liquid. I might upgrade to a 5090/6090 next year, though, so maybe then.

>Are you saying I should just install three fans there anyways?
You put one at the rear top so that it assists the air cooler. If you must, one facing inwards at the front top to minmax. Otherwise leave the top middle and front empty or put a plastic bag there (held by some top cover or magnetic mesh) to force the front fan air to never escape early.

>Any where I can learn more about this?
It's called your brain
If using an AIO you want as much as possible to go up into the radiator, instead of passign through to the back and doing nothing.
>>

>If using an AIO you want as much as possible to go up into the radiator, instead of passign through to the back and doing nothing.
Maybe I'm stupid, but my brain is telling me the opposite, isn't it?
Why do I want the air to linger inside the case? Don't parts heat up proportionally to ambient temperatures? So I'd want to replace that air as fast as possible. It's not like I'm filling a bucket and need to wait for it to reach the brim, and it's not like I have a limited supply of air, right?

When an AIO is stuck to the top it IS the exhaust fan array. Three of them pulling upwards is quite a lot of evacuation, the one at the back is only capable of helping with getting the waste heat from the GPU instead.

>Why do I want the air to linger inside the case?
Air is being taken in from the front, it can not be lingering unless you have zero RPM on every case fan. It will find its way out on its own; this is known as positive case air pressure, which helps to reduce dust buildup as the air will blow out of every hole and crevice it can escape from. A higher pressure behind the AIO fans will also help it push through the radiator fins, which are a source of air resistance.
>>
>>106980880
Right, but how does all of that add up to me needing to limit my exhaust fan? If anything, wouldn't I want it working as hard as it can while maintaining positive pressure (and it's currently 5-to-1 so that shouldn't ever happen)?

have internet access, the bigger the screen the better
watch a bunch of videos of people building pcs on the same case you bought, unless its some obscure chinkshit there will be
understand why shit is done, understand why that cable goes there and that other one goes to the other part of the motherboard
familiarize yourself with the psu cables so you know before hand which cable is for what pieces
dont sweat cable management (too much)

Reducing the pressure around the final AIO fan, taking away perfectly cold fresh air that just entered and has done nothing from being used by the AIO. Again, the AIO fans when mounted on the top is the primary exhaust. Any "ambient heat" from other components goes out that way just fine. If a hot GPU and SSD causes the CPU to heat up a bit because the radiator is now getting warm air passing over it, that will just trigger all the fans to ramp up and solve the issue. It causes the AIO radiator to function as a general temp sensor for the whole system.

But it's being replaced with more perfectly cold fresh air.

Is everyone and their mother a video editor nowadays? Why is every build question online asking for a build for "video editing and gaming"?
Bonus points if they also ask for a good build for "coding", yeah right, as if you can't write and compile code just fine on any old toaster. You're probably doing React anyways and that shit's meant to run on the lowest common denominator's Android 4.3 smartphone with half a gig of RAM and a chrome version from a decade ago.

every year is retarded, I'd give it about 3 years
thermal pads last even longer, potentially even forever (in terms of useful hardware)

Re-pasting your stuff so often isn't a good idea unless you are using some strange TIM.
For GPUs you would also had to worry about thermal pads, fuck that.
>>
>>106981665
I've no idea where you live where you get a heavy dust buildup within a year
even then, it's not like the dust is between the chip and the heatsink, and disassembling everything instead of just blowing at it seems rather excessive

dust isnt same in every place
I have very little dust in my apartment and filters do good enough job that theres very little build up in the fins

I open the side door and use a clean brush to get the dust out of the parts while keeping the vaccum cleaner pointed towards where im dusting? to vaccum the dust particles as i coax them out with the brush?

dont brush stuff thats how you'll break it
dont force air through fans so they spin at high speed
get a duster fan and never buy canned air again
>>
>>106981757
This is why the desire to move all the cables to the rear of the case is a good and moral thing. A smaller amount of cables in the way of air means less surfaces to stick to, and the higher velocity makes it easier for dust to get blown off and not adhere to the remaining open surfaces. The only concern for the future is if cables get hot enough that cooling them becomes a genuine consideration.
>>
>>106981770
I read somewhere that these fans can bleed static electricity into the dust particles that pass through as it blows, anecdotally my PC behaved strangely for a while the day after blowing it once.

I once had my real old gpu stop working from dust, it had 1 fan

I think the 3 fan designs where the air moves sideways immediately will have less dust build up
Theres more intake and surface area for the limited amount of dust flowing in the case, and higher pressure so theres less build up
>>
>>106981777
anecdotally that sounds like bullshit and I've used it several times with no issues
again, dont force the fans to spin at high speed or it pushes voltage back into the motherboard

toothbrush for fans
tissues and blow from your mouth is for PCBs
>>

I'm not dumb enough to blow on components without holding the fans. It still behaved funny afterwards. Maybe if its some kind of really dodgy Chinesium minimum-cost design.

Is the price premium for a chipset that supports PCIe 5.0 over 4.0 really worth it in terms of gaming performance?
>>
>>106981851
It is for future proofing. Nvidia recently seems to like to use x8 PCIe cards if it is an entry-mid tier card, which can choke on a 4.0. If any manufacturer makes a card in such a segment that happens to be the value king then you might get hurt by a 4.0. Meanwhile a 5.0 has double the bandwidth of 4.0, so this safety margin extends for many generations ahead.
>>
>>106981851
Only if you have PCI-E gen5 GPU and you care about 1% lower performance.

Well that confirms what principle you're working with. The choice between B650 and B850 nowdays is whether you are trying to scrimp on every last penny or not buy something with more features than you need. Personally I err on the side of getting the most advanced tech available. For you I guess it will depend on how big the price difference the B850 has over the B650 in your area. Also consider that if you're buying a class _800x3d Ryzen then is a little bit more to get a modern chipset really that much?

You mainly want higher end chipsets for better IO like more m.2.
If you look around you can find cheaper X670E or B650E boards if you care about more about just PCI-E 5.0 over Wi-Fi 7 or USB4.0.
Also remember AMD did AyyMD thing and re-released the older chipsets under the new names but they also changed their tiers.

>>

Your graphics card probably sucks air onto the card and out of the back, so the bottom two fans should pump air into the case. Similarly, your cpu fan is probably blowing right-to-left in your image so the fan in the back should suck air out.
You can also just experiment, flipping the fans isn't so much work.

Hey bros, my PC of 13 years recently died and I've been ordering parts for a new build and they're almost here but I'm not at the point of deciding what to do with my OS.

It seems like W11 on a new build just makes sense even though I'm very much not a fan but the idea of paying another $140 for an os I don't even want to use doesn't sit right with me. What is the cheapest legitimate way to get windows 11 and do people still use loaders? I have a bunch of old w7 keys lying around but I guess they don't let you upgrade from there anymore. Anyway thanks.

Perfectly fine
Consider a 7800x3d as the current consensus of the council of anons is that the bump in price doesn't match the bump on performance on the 9800x3d
You probably dont need 64gb ram but it wont hurt and since prices are going up maybe you are saving yourself money there in the end
If you are keeping some old storage you could also downsize to 1tb nvme and use it for system and programs while the older storage is used for well... storage but 2tb doesn't really seem overkill
And lastly i dont know how old is your case but cases has seen a massive improvement in the last... 5-6 years.
Anyhow the build is perfectly fine, i just wanted to help you reconsider those points just in case
>>
>>106982379

you can get it for free on /fwt/ or buy a key on any gray market key site, i remember there also was a subreddit that sold w10 keys for like a dollar but it got banned
