Basically i need a ryzen 9 9950x or the 9959x3d version and like 64gb of ram but i dont know ANYTHING about mhz, idk what means CL and why must be 6000mhz at cl30 for an amd chip.

For the motherboard i want one top of the line to upgrade later, like having more and more SSD for personal storage, i store a lot of videos and pics and i currrently building a basic nas with old parts, i was thinking in a Asus 870e proart because no LED and a lot of usb c and ssd ports but idk if there is a better model or brand

Graphics card i was thinking on a 7900 xtx or a 9700 xt i dont want nvidia

powersupply idk like 1200 watts?
cooling i want air, like the noctua dh15
i have a pc case big enough to fit all components

I would definitely go 9070 over 7900, for games there's going to be a massive gap there.

I'd strongly recommend you get a 280 or 360mm AIO for a 9950X or 9950X3D.
You can pick a dual tower air cooler if you want.
Here is my proposed build.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KBpdyW

You may have to learn how to update the board BIOS to make that Creator board work with the 9950X3D.
https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1038568/
Creator is a top-end board with a lot of I/O if you need it.

>idk what means CL and why must be 6000mhz at cl30 for an amd chip
It's not a hard rule. Just a recommendation because these DDR5 AMD CPUs are easy to run at the 6000MT/s speed, and they scale better with tighter memory timings (CL30 or under for this speed).
Pic is a portion of AMD's review guideline for their Zen 5 CPUs. Basically 6000MT/s CL30 is the performance & stability sweet spot.

I meant 5400 sorry. It appeared yesterday in my yt feed. its a new 3 chamber case where the cpu has its own aio radiator chamber.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LNkk2x

There's around $100~200 in potential savings. I don't know whether you're fine with a video card with 8GB VRAM.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bRNJJn
There are cheaper PSUs, but the $20 price difference or so isn't worth it imo.
Keep the 2TB SSD, especially if you're getting an mATX board with limited M.2 slots.

Paying the extra $30 for the Nvidia encoder (Nvenc) on a 5060 is probably worth it if you want to stream. Don't cheap out on MBO too much, you will want something with PCIe 5.0 lanes. youd get more static pressure if you had intake fans, but you might also try using some foam or cardstock to fashion some air funnels between the heatsink fans and the bottom of the case.

Well boys, I did it. I panic bought the RAM and NVMe SSD for my upcoming build to avoid further ""price spikes™"" courtesy of hooked noses.

Hope I wont regret my purchase come black friday deals but I still have to be on the lookout for cpu and gpu.

You want 1:1 so that memory operations are synchronised with controller operations. That way the controller doesn't have to "wait" for the next clock tick when the memory completes an operation. The bus width/channels don't really affect this.

I want to buy another screen but the stands are super fucking shit, the legs stick out way too far and cant be adjusted properly
Arms are the first option but with minimal depth space i dont know how well they will work
Has anyone used the generic vesa replacement stands?
>>
>>106986781
Realistically, how do I choose a cpu fan? Why would I need an AIO for my 9800x3d if it's rated to 120 W when my tower cooler is rated to 240 W? Surely not even OCing will more than double thermal ouput?
>>
>>106991965
you don't need an aio for a 9800x3d, but aios will cool more effectively
excess cooling capacity means quieter and cooler operation
cooler operation means less stress on the component
>>
>>106991948
Arms don't necessarily need a lot of depth
>>
>>106991965
People worry about cooling way too much. CPUs are fine until 90C and GPUs until 80C, with upper throttling limits at 95C and 85C respectively.
If it's running hot just blow the fan harder.
>>
>>106991948
Wall mount. Clean desk space and maximum depth utilisation.
>>
>>106991965
I feel like AIOs can improve general airflow through a case since it removes a large obstruction/turbulence creator in the middle. Then you can just have flow in just one direction.

All that AI investment was used to build up energy and AI farms, but the demand wont go up infinitely for all providers. The ai chip demand will go way down, and what do those tsmc fabs gonna do? gpus for gamers

No, but it seems silly that Ive been out of the PC building game for years and now that I want to slap together cookie cutter gaming machine everything starts to get more expensive by the day because AI. Its not about 30-50 bucks more for ram, its about the principle. Shit fucked up GPU prices exactly like this and now look where we are.

Thoughts on this $750 poverty build? I'm trying to go for 1080p 60 fps high settings on modern slop. Also I'm planning on installing bazzite and treat it like a steam machine, am I on the right path? am I stupid? should I just buy it and stop waiting for everything to go up in prices?
>>
>>106992366
>1080p 60 fps high settings on modern slop
thats like 4090 or 5080 minimum
>>
is an MSI Gaming Trio OC the best bang for my buck as far as 5090s go? everything cheaper than $2500 is out of stock and I really dont know when at MSRP priced cards will return to stock.
>>
>>106992108
Nah, whoever’s still alive will be like Amazon in 2001, stock in the tank but still buying up all the GPUs they can find.
>>
>>106992366
Really depends on local prices. What other video cards are available around that price? Also, how much does Intel 12th gen go for in your country, 12600KF specifically? Finally, it's probably not worth the savings to get unmatched RAM.
>>
>>106992366
seems fine, I don't know much about bazzite but I guess AMD is the way to go at least

Get a second hand GPU. You can get a 6900 XT for this price on Marketplace.
>1080p 60 fps high settings
1080p60 is literally the same as 1440p120, just without upscaling and framegen. Actually it might even be more demanding lmao, DLSS Balanced at 1440p is 825p or so...

Hey, a friend of mine is like that and got an i7-11700k + RTX 3070 build back in 2021 or so, just to play everything at like ~900p windowed and capped to 30 FPS. Allows him to play 2025 games at high settings without worrying about DLSS or FrameGen or even 1080p60.
>>
>>106992706
The difference between 30 and 60 fps is pretty massive, it's like getting to the nyquist frequency for the human eye.

I have currently a very similar build but with a 3060TI (5600x 16gb ram blablabla) and i play most shit at 1080@60fps without much trouble, most games with settings maxed or close to maxed.
The lynchpin is the gpu, do you have any other options at similar prices?
What i mean to say is that if you can scrunge up any extra money it should go towards a better gpu, the rest of the computer you are buying is on a dead platform (am4) so its not like you will ever upgrade it (cause there isn't a lot above what you are getting) so there is no reason to spend more money there, however the gpu you can just remove it and pluck it in the next computer, but again, its all about money.
Picrel shows your 5600 being able to move stuff with better gpus
Also check the 2nd hand market there might have been a lot of people moving to am5 and that might want to sell their older 5600x 5700x3d 5800x3d
Best of luck chile bro, any question let me know

However yes going to a fucking 9070xt will do numbers
>>
>>106992366
Even at poverty tier there's just no point whatsoever going am4 on a new build, something like ryzen 7600 is probably about as expensive as 5600 (or you can get one of those funky ryzen 7400F which have cut down traces but you probably won't need them on a poverty build). You're left with a much better platform. RAM price is largely the same between DDR4 and DDR5, mobo is a bit more expensive but deals can be had now and then.
GPU... idk shit's fucked, I'd probably try to get as good as you can second-hand with what you have (also applies to RAM desu, 2x 16GB should be dirt cheap from somebody upgrading)
