Reposting since last thread didn't last long when I posted and didn't yield results.

Any anons got experiences with a good robot vacuum __that does mopping well__ (so no passive mop where it's just some fabric on the back of the robot that barely works)?
I have a cheap vacuum and it's increased my quality of life a bunch, so I'm willing to pay more for an upgrade that keeps kitchen and bathroom freshly mopped, would appreciate any reviews in that direction by fellow anons.

I'm tempted by the foreskin lamp.
Not because I am American, but because I want to know how it works.

I want to know what mechanism can measure the position of cloth/cloth insert accurately and be manufactured for like $0.50.

just buy an used one, many people try it out and get rid of them, after all you do need to remove anything that may trip the robot like certain types of carpets, cables, shoes that have their laces out, etc or at least close the door where the floor has those things

i got one that looks like your pic (except the charging station looks way simpler) and it costed me like 100€, works great, etc

That's good advice for the cheap entry model ones (sub 200€ new), which is how I got my current one actually. Used tesvor S6 that I got for 100€. Works just fine for vacuuming.

The issue is what I want is a better model that can handle mopping. And I don't mean those "mops" where it's just a piece of fabric stuck to the back of the robot with a container that keeps it moist, but a motorized, rotating mop that actually cleans shit. Those don't seem to appear on used market places so far or the owner wants essentially the same as they cost new (which because they buy premium brands means it'll cost more than a top line xiaomi one).

>>
>>107081834
I'm a different anon, but I'd say yes. You can get a decent one for cheap and place it on your desk (no mic arm or you'll give "i wanna be a streamer" vibes).
It'll be good enough to pick up your voice better than a gamer mic, if it breaks you don't have to buy a whole new headset (and if the headphones break you don't need to buy a mic), and frankly a mic on a headset that you clip down looks gamer/unprofessional too. (Unless you go for the callcenter aesthetic in which case you need to use a uncomfortable shit headset that's thin).
The only downside of this desk mic approach is that it will pick up your keyboard more, but with the noise cancellation that discord, teams, zoom and co have these days, it doesn't really matter, the others in the call won't hear any of it.

chink dashcams are absolute dogshit afaik, i got a supposed "HD" one and the chip was too slow to even process the video so it would be like 2 fps recordings at 1080p or 720p at the most

just get an used gopro imo or some reputable brand like that, even the older models will look mostly fine

What you can and should get from aliexpress is the "gopro accesories" kits, those are handy

I would also recommend you get picrel if you want to ride your motorbike through winter, get the thin ones so you can pass them through your helmet to cover the gap between your jacket and helmet properly, but stack 2 or 3 thin ones still rather than getting a thick one
You could also get a full-on balaclava but that could scare people when you remove your helmet idk

if you want very high quality you can get an SM57 studio mic and a Behringer UM2 audio interface. Get a small table mic and people will be astounded at how good your audio is. It's a bit complicated, the characters name is indeed mitu, but the keywords it gets posted under vary. In that software are just the files I downloaded myself and tagged as "mitu".
Usually some combination of these keywords: "xiaomi, mitu, mijia, mascot, miui" should give results.
A lot of it is also community drawn, so you just have to search on google, yandex and whatever else comes to mind.

The audiophile queermos (God bless them) say the Openheart cables are fine. They're exclusively on Aliexpress. I could get a Tripowin one off of Amazon for like $10-20 more, from what I'm seeing. Just curious to see what the sentiment is in here, if there's something I'm missing. Might be worth it to me to just spend the extra few bucks to not have to wait, unless there is some sort of deal I'm just not seeing

in general, the short-lived meme that amazon is just temu but you trade time for money (for shipping) is true. amazon is mostly the same brands and OEM goods, you just pay a little more because of faster shipping and amazon's return policy

but for your specific use case you can get a 3.5mm male-male cable at a dollar store and it should be fine
>>
>>107085796
They have some really cheap shit (microchips mostly) and are generally trustworthy.
But you do pay for that trustworthiness, so while cheaper than mouser or digikey on many things, they can't beat good ol' alibaba bulk orders. In exchange you actually get what you paid for, so that's that.

As always, the advice is to co on scarbir, look at their rating list and find the first 2-3 that match the price you're willing to pay.
Keep in mind that scarbir lists prices at the time of the review, e.g. qcy melobuds pro are listed as 50$ but can be had for 25$.

Didn't you ask the same question a few days ago?
You want the right size for your ears, if it's too small you won't get a seal, if it's too big it will be painful.
>>
>>107092114
Deep + proper seal foremost. Go a size down if it still seals while letting you shove it in deeper. Tips with more material (foam, multi flange, any sort of filling behind the silicone) should help reduce sound further, but that's secondary to the quality of the seal.
>>

Thoughts on the REDRAGON METEOR S wrist rest? I saw it recommended the other day, thinking about getting either it or the desk pad from TOHAKATA store to go with my carpet mousepad. The former might be better profiled though.

cant find it sold anywhere, weird. Also i have a decent wrist-rest that came with my corsair k100, which while a bit overpriced, has lasted a few years with no trouble so far.

That being said, the wrist rest fake leather does eventually wear away and makes a bit of a mess, but the underlay cushion is just as durable and has lasted. Good mention though, in a few years i may need another wrist-rest to replace this one.

>but do people just buy 2m or whatever and then cut off however much they don't need
Most modern LED strips (I can't remember the last time I had one where this wasn't the case) come with sections every few centimeters that you can cut the strip off at to change the length. This doesn't damage them and in fact the cut off part still works, so if you want it you can solder them together again.
So if you have, say, 2 sections of 1m you want to light, you can buy a 2m one with a single power supply, lay the first meter, cut off the end, solder on wires and then use the other 1m somewhere else where those wires reach.
>>

For cheap, I mean literally bottom of the barrel basic tier just to see how it looks. I've never used these strip lights despite their popularity so idk how they reall work. I just want to put them around the case to light up my figures inside but also have it be inobtrusive which is one part I haven't figured out yet in a transparent case

>>107094736
>solder on wires and then use the other 1m somewhere else where those wires reach
Ah interesting, so instead of having the whole light strip travel round you'd just have the 1 wire you've soldered conecting them? That seems handy, I don't think I need that but I sort of wondered what people did with those massive ass string lights because there must be so much waste if people just cut what they don't need and bin it
>>
>>107096180
>Ah interesting, so instead of having the whole light strip travel round you'd just have the 1 wire you've soldered conecting them?
Depends on what wire.
If it's a single colored wire, it'll be two wires (a positive and a negative pole).
If it's RGB, it'll usually be 4 (R,G,B and Ground).
Often for the RGB versions there'll be clip-on cables provided with 4 cables already oriented right.
>but I sort of wondered what people did with those massive ass string lights because there must be so much waste if people just cut what they don't need and bin it
There is some waste, but yeah the cut off section isn't broken or anything, you can still use it. Get a power supply for the same type and you basically get a second LED light with the offcuts (or solder them onto something)

Thoughts on the chink batteries that come bundled with gadgets? Would they be more reliable (against leaking) than retail batteries, or less?
On the one hand, >chinkshit. On the other hand, device manufacturers surely know that having batteries leak inside the box (even worse, inside the unused product) isn't a good look, hence would be more careful about including good batteries? vs retail battery manufacturers like Duracell who don't give a fuck, they know normies won't chase up, and even if they did, whatever, just send em some replacements.

>>
>>107100424

lmao
Yes, they are 'digital' files. But the fidelity is different. You can RIP a CD and get the flac files in it's 100% lossless quality. However these files are big, a 4 minute song can reach 400-500MB.
Now, if I was a streaming platform like spotify or Amazon Music I am NOT going to stream that much data to all my users, I will have to compress them. Compressing music is the same as compressing images. PNG to JPG. FLAC to MP4. Some streaming sites are more egregious than others.
Now downloaders exists for these sites. If you download a song from Spotify it can say .flac, but it really isn't anymore. It's just and MP4 converted back to FLAC, like saving a JPG to PNG.
There is not a SINGLE website that offers true lossless quality music like CDs. Even when they digital music, it's always compressed down.

Again, casual listeners don't fucking care and eat that shit all the time, audiophiles don't.

you are not wrong but in most cases you'd be hard pressed to hear any difference between a track streamed from something like Qobuz and the same played straight from a CD, unless you put crystals on your cables the main reason to buy CDs nowadays is to have a physical collection or to rip them and store the files on your server
>>
>>107100519
I went to Spotify since I found buying CDs expensive. It was the worst decision I made. Quality was so bad, and yeah I was able to notice it. I tried looking for other streaming sites with better quality and settled on Qobuz, it's higher quality than Spotify, and I can barely hear the difference in sound quality compared to my CDs. There are some I still notice but those are for songs I've listened to on CDs for years so I know how they sound like. The people saying they can't hear the difference between Qobuz and a CD probably never heard it from the CD in the first place. And even if you did you'd be hard pressed to hear the difference.

>>107100572

Recommend a budget phone. I only want it for texting and calling. If it has a QWERTY keyboard, with which you can write mathematical notation and code with (so I can relay SCA stuff), the better.

They are actually really comfortable. I have both an old car that got one of these and a pickup truck with android auto (cause I wanted a back camera). Controling the radio with buttons is much more comfortable with a screen, I'd much rather have one of these BT to radio thingies

My (not exactly cheap, but not luxury either) leather wallet is dying, after barely 10 years of use.
I got pic related, and while uncomfortably close to tacticool and edc faggotry, it’s actually quite nice, so I’m wondering if any anons can recommend a large wallet in a similar style?
I’m talking 8 cards minimum (ID, CC, drivers license, health insurance and a bunch more) coins and bills, some space for random receipts and a bunch of business cards. But must still be small enough to fit into my jeans back pocket.

I haven't looked into this but my gut tells me your brother is right. Specially if you want to change the OS

Vacuum robot. Actually life changing, wouldn't want to live without ever again. Not having to clean your home every few days, and instead just having to do so occasionally is a miracle.
Other than that maybe outdoor equipment for a outdoor hobby if you're living that hermit life. Not so much because the gear is amazing, but because if it gets you to leave the house it's a net positive.

Personally I think for a sleek wallet you should just get those 2-4$ aluminum ones that support a bunch of cards and some change.
If you want a big wallet for receipts, business cards and co. I can't see a way around the inevitable dad-core leather trifold.

I decided to buy a Redmi Note 14. I wanted to have enough money left over to buy a mech keyboard for my PC, but I already got one so maybe let's buy it with my first pay.

I won't allow shitting on the chinks. I love my chinks, they are the closest thing to Santa's elves

Don't have anything against trannies but I've only ever seen them and cosplayers wear those kinds of exaggerated lolita clothes
>>

Nice, looking forward to it then. Anon recommended me to look for something like it in the last thread, I feel like I'm gonna need it to correctly make some indian dishes and adjust from last time.

I was gonna get a chink n100/n150 laptop since no one in the west seems to be making decent ones, but even the bigger brands like Chuwi still have quality and durability issues from the sounds of it.
I ended up buying an amd T14s gen1 off ebay for about £220.

ok but cds dont have that much space normally
only like 500mb or some thing how can they fit the high quality music
>>
I've qualified for the prize draw in the watering tree game after collecting 15 cards. It's my first time, what do I need to do and what prizes are up for grabs?
>>
>>107103333
Anon either pulled the 400-500MB figure out of his ass or is talking about files with higher sample rate and/or bit depth than CD standards. Commercial CDs store about 80 minutes of uncompressed stereo audio within 700MB and converting to flac saves space since it involves (lossless) compression.

Do I ask for refund or will they sort it out automatically?

i think you have to wait 75 days before initating the refund
that's what happened to my watch a few years back. lost in customs forever and had to wait 2.5 months

It depends which delivery company you're dealing with, in my country it's usually automatic. If a package is stuck for a week or so, the status is changed to "lost" and Aliexpress refunds you with a single click.

This might be more along the lines of /spg/ but does anyone in here have any experience with Cubot phones? I am tempted by the models with 10k mAh batteries (e.g. kingkong max 5, kingkong x) and there's not many reviews besides generic useless shit like "phone good" or "phone shit screen broke after drop on concrete from 69ft"
