Same link, select Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal

does anyone know if mpc-hc can play youtube playlists?
it seems to only play the first video
>>
>>107120699
I know that VLC and mpv can, no idea about mpc-hc.
>>
>>107120814
Nta, but I've never gotten VLC to play youtube videos. MPV works fine though. Does VLC need an extra plugin or extension?
>>
>>107120842
IIRC you just put the youtube link in the network file dialog? Though youtube's probably done some kind of stupid shit to the backend that VLC haven't combated yet.
>>
>>107120943
I was just about to say I only just checked the VLC pages, it's the .lua scripts. The VLC github only just removed the youtube lua like two weeks ago so it only stopped working recently (Although I remember trying to play youtube video in VLC from months ago and it still didn't work so who knows).
>>
>>107120973 (me)
Btw they removed the youtube.lua script because it stopped working. VLC support's solution is "just use yt-dlp".
>>
>>107120699
Yes but its super slow for long playlists because yt-dlp is super slow and it loads the details for all the videos before starting
>>
>>107120699
>>107121025
MPC-BE handles yt playlists much better if you enable its own support
>>
>>107121025
mpv also uses yt-dlp so i guess i will also be slow

DisableNotificationCenter in the registry keep resetting itself to 1 on my work laptop (W11)
Is this a company policy thingy? I'm can change it but it's annoying having to do that every x days
>>
>>107121028
Really if you want to continue using mpc-hc in the modern day you should be using BE because it's actually continually worked on still.

>External fans just aren't very effective.
That's true, it wasn't that ideal and the temperature drop wasn't as significant as I hoped, but it was at least less risky/dangerous. In the end, I just mostly decided to avoid playing anything too taxing and stuck to mid-spec stuff.
>No, your laptop is designed for sudden losses of power since it's expected to run out of power due to being battery powered. What would actually damage it would be a power SURGE, which surge protectors are for.
To be specific, I sincerely believe it was more of a surge than a blackout, it wasn't random and I knew what caused it (although I wasn't related to the cause).
>And some multi outlet devices LOOK like surge protectors but aren't.
Gonna have to buy one then, I just had a regular power-strip which is what the laptop was attached to.
Also worth noting I was unaware about battery thresholds needing to be a thing until recently, so that may have contributed to any potential damage done to the battery since I kept it 100% charged.
I kinda fucked things up royally with my ignorance, but it's a learning experience I suppose.
>You could build yourself a good miniITX system
I am considering it, and honestly I wish I had known about it years ago, but unfortunately now I have budget issues, but maybe during Christmas I may have the chance.

Out of curiosity, do you have any tips I mentioned for trying to recover the files from and/or for knowing what was going on with my External HDD that I mentioned in the original post (>>107112952)? I won't get around to it until after I solve the crashing problem, but the most odd thing was Recuva crashing rather than the computer once the computer actually stopped crashing.
Either way, thanks for all the tips and everyone else that gave me advice. I'll try all these suggestions today and see what ends up happening. Fingers crossed it goes well.

>>107121452
Do the laptops use Pro? I think only Enterprise/Education actually lets you permanently change DWORDs like that.
>>
Is there any good Photoshop version that works, more or less recent?

I'm not paying for adobe and I don't really care about whatever AI updates they have on their last versions.
>>
>>107122397
If you want the very latest Photoshop you can use either m0nkrus's releases or crack modern CC versions of Photoshop using GenP, while also blocking Adobe telemetry addresses via a-dove-is-dumb.
You can also get Photoshop CS6 from 1337x which works totally fine still.
>>
>>107122385
Just checked and it's Enterprise
Oh well I can live with this, takes 2 seconds to change...
>>
>>107122724
Weird, then it might be something that your IT set to return back?

I just installed W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021 and have 2 issues (or they might be the same issue, not sure)
First of all, I have to unblock every single file manually that I download. I've never had that on a windows install. Is there any way I can just nuke the setting to never ask/always unblock everything by default?
Second, after installation, some programs will simply not open. I assume it's somehow tied to the first issue, but could be separate. This only affects certain programs, others work fine. In my case it's ImageGlass. I've tried installing it to different drives and issue persists.
I open it, admin or no, lil loading circle next to my mouse for a bit, then nothing happens.
I've tried Checkdisk and SFC /SCANNOW and neither fixed the problem
I'm thinking it's some security issue interrupting me? But I've disabled most of windows defender and tried starting it with still no progress
>>
>>107122771
This is definitely not normal.
>>
>>107122771
>I just installed W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021
Did you install it over a previous installation or is it a new drive?
>>
>>107122883
I formatted the SSD that had the previous windows installation and installed it to that
>>
>>107122892
I would instead use diskpart within the install USB to clean the drive completely before installing instead of just re-formatting the already existing partitions
>>
>>107122892
Are you using a local account or did you get tricked into making a Microsoft account?
>>
Can I dda a nic with regular iot enterprise ltsc 10 or do I need server? My guests freeze the entirety of hyper-v when they load drivers for the nic(s): i211, i226-v, x540-at2. Don't know if its an hardware issue or windows issue. I'd use hyper's virtual switch manager to make an external network adapter bound to those nics, but if I put them in a bridge inside the vm, traffic doesn't cross.

>>107122908
I don't know what that is
Is that just the default view that pops up when you're asked what drive to install to? I've formatted the drive, deleted all the partitions, then manually assigned new ones before installing

>>107122917
I wasn't connected to the internet so it's local
>>
>>107122951
It's a command line utility you access via pressing shift+f10 in the install USB environment to access a command line. It's the most clean way to remove all partitioning data from a drive making it seem completely brand new to the Windows installer leading to a fully functional normal install.
>>
>>107122451
I've seen m0nkrus mentioned a lot, is him that good?
>>
>>107122735
I guess yeah they changed something
>>
>>107122771
Read this and see if this helps with the first issue
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/85418-how-disable-downloaded-files-being-blocked-windows.html

And the second Issue might be related to DEP (Data Execution Prevention)
>>
>>107123033
That does fix the first issue, but even after fully disabled DEP and restarting I still can't start this fucking software
>>
Still haven't put my system together because I cannot decide whether I should still get W10 LTSC or straight go for W11 LTSC.

It's only for gayming, companies already tell the commoners to migrate to W11, and maybe even by the end of next year they will stop supporting W10.
>>
>>107122771
Well I reinstalled windows but this time went with LTSC (no IoT)
The shit being blocked by default issue is gone, but I still can't open ImageGlass specifically after installing it
>>
>>107123416
After some tweaking W11 iot ltsc was a better experience than w10.
New flip model alone is essential if you are a gaymer.
W11 is snappier. Sure, the initial experience is bad but it'll take 15 minutes to revert if you know what to do.

Could someone please recommend an actually good file browser for Windows 10? I have no issue with the looks of the default one, and with QTTabBar it's even somewhat usable, but I'm looking for something better if such a thing exists. I don't really need any power user features in general, but I just want something more responsive and which tab support.

Is there any way to enroll W10 Education in the ESU program or am I screwed?
I tried looking around but none of the methods I found work for me, and from what I gather the education version is the problem.
>>
i unknowingly bought a wifi 7 card that only has win 11 drivers on the website, win 10 refuses to install them
is there a way to force the install? lets not pretend w11 changed something meaningful
>>
>>107124462
Total Commander, no contest. The only file manager that even comes close to TC is Krusader on Linux.
>>
>>107124462
what this guy said >
>>107125041
>>
>>107125041
i find midnight commander to be decent for when i dont want to install the whole KDE suite just to run Krusader.
distros used to force you into installing the whole of kde just to use one program from it, dunno if its still the case.

How can I disable automatic restarts (but not automatic updates) in Windows 11 home?
>>
>>107124462
>>107125041
>>107125289
are there any that allow you to natively search, view, and edit metadata fields?

Like, right click a file, hit view/edit metadata, and then every possible field is there?
