Some info for you all - I got made redundant a few months back. Took some personal time etc. A month ago I mail-merged my resume and a short spiel on my situation and what I'm looking for to about 25 recruiters from different companies. Got responses from about 8 of them and started healthy conversations. This time of year sucks for hiring because most companies are forecasting or reforecasting (For Australians) budgets and planning for the next cycle, so the hiring will pick up again in January / February. These recruiters have networks and access to the 'invisible' market and can get things like short term day-rate contracts and other at-need type roles. Get yourself on as many of these peoples lists as possible and keep in touch once a fortnight and you'll increase your chances of finding an opportunity. The double benefit is that they will vouch for you, instead of you being in a digital pile of 300 applicants of jeets and be missed.There's plenty of work out there anons just gotta beat the jeet-volume problem and get to the interview stage.
