So I'm liking the pixel 10 pro xl so far. Bought mine unlocked since it was 200 cheaper that way and I've missed having a unlocked bootloader. It's power hungry it seems but phones charge so quick now that's a non issue. Camera is great. Fucker is fast. The Ai camera helper is a gimmick it's just a tutorial and that's it really. Love having a fingerprint reader that doesn't blind me at night. Cons seem to be you have to buy all new wirelessu chargers and it's heavy as fuck. Thinkng that's because of the battery or the magnetic charging capabilities. It feels at least double the weight of my old pixel 7 pro. For 800ish after trade in and offers for me it was a no brainer.

Considering most bank apps are built for Android 7/8 and iOS 12/13 it's safe to assume that the security model of smartphone operating systems is good enough even if you don't get security updates for years.
So, yes, save yourself some money if you can. There's no need to consoom only the phones released in the current year. Mobile apps are generally very backwards compatible so you don't need as many system updates as you would on an OS like Linux which has 0 backwards compatibility outside of it's own .apk equivalents (Flatpaks and Appimages).
