give it to me straight or gay idc. how bad is oled burn in really? trying to decide between the gigabyte M27UP and the Asus XG32UCWMG. Coming from a asus asus vq248qe. want a dual mode for comp fps games. I would have no problem with paying the premium for the asus but I generally use my stuff for a long time and also do some static content work.

>>107249952Just buy LCD or wait until 32" 4K Tandem WOLEDs are out.

Do cases with tempered glass really crack and explode randomly often or is it just online forums?
>>107250099>randomly no, but you will hit it and it will explode and you will have to shake out glass bits from your heatsinks.
I had a good friend who was a serious dog trainer. He had a 2 year old lab that was coming into his own as a competition-tier bird dog thanks to a very strict regimen in all aspects of his life. When he was riding in the truck he wasn't allowed to have AC in the southern heat to keep him alert in the field. One day he was riding home with the ol boy, and my buddy took great pity on his panting, dog-tired pal and decided to treat him to a little cool air. From that moment onward whether it was a cool fall day or sweltering summer burner that dog would get in the car with you and immediately start clawing at the vents like a mad man, as if he was starving and there were delicious bits of rotting muskrat waiting to be dug up if only he could scratch through the dash. I am content in my ignorance of how good a $600 monitor with a short lifespan could look while gaming. My 1440p 180hz IPS is a shockingly good upgrade from my old 60hz 900p and I love it.
>>107249952It's not bad at all, it's poorfag cope. Just get an OLED and don't worry about it.

>>107250219Yeah I don't do any of that, it's been a bit over 2 years of the same static background and taskbar always showing. I leave it on all the time and use it for 4-12 hours per day.

If OLED burn in was real you would see more of it outside of the rtings torture tests.
you can't buy a new gpu because they cost $2000 because drumpf and his billionaire friends need to make hundreds of billions on his cripto scamyou can't buy ram because drumpf and jensen need to keep getting richer by pretending AI is not a bubble and will eventually pay itself so every fab has to turn to HBM to keep the lie going onand soon you won't be able to buy a cpu because drumpf will takeover intel (already at 10%) and switch the entire production to bitcoin miners and AI slop machines (unironically lip bu tan is already doing this)are you happy now?

my galaxy s9 phone i'm still using has burn-in. granted we're many generations removed from that type of panel but after hearing people say every new gen of oled has finally solved burn-in for a decade now i'd rather avoid it
>>107250252It's real, 10 years for TVs & 5 years for laptop/monitors is TCL CSOT's expected OLED refresh cycle.Obviously depends on the panel & usage patterns.

>>107250615Steam Machine's pricing might be inflated due to the memory shortages.RTX 5060 is objectively better than any RX 7600 variant.Valve made the Steam Machine because they want impressionable normies to buy newer (higher revenue source) games on Steam. They're in this for themselves. Is it worth it to spend time to create your own build or is it better to copy some prebuild? Personally I know nothing about computer hardware and I see that it's a complicated topic with no clear resources. The prebuilds I'm eyeballing are any from ztt (https://zttbuilds.com/collections/gaming-pc-prebuilts). Also some anons here are willing to build you a machine if you give them your budget and a use case for your device. As for prebuilts, their goal is to make money, they will cut corners, sometimes you can find a really good deal but these situations will depend on your local pricing, part availability and luck. If you have some doubts about them you can always post a prebuilt build and ask if it is a good deal and get decent replies.

Well my Aliexpress 7800x3d arrived today, it took one week to deliver from eu warehouse. Its in unsealed tray plastic and top side with lettering has some tiny smudge, leading me to believe it might have been used and resold. Checked serial number on AMD site and its legit. Will have to wait two weeks for rest of my components to arrive and then I can actually test wheter it works or not. Will update.

Just got my LG ultragear 27″ 27g610a‑b. Running on a 1060 6GB and will be upgrading whenever ram prices come down. I can't run this monitor at 200hz with HDR on, is that normal? It flickers everything including the task bar I'm guessing it is a bandwidth issue with the old cable I'm using (10+ years old no idea what DP standard) or my old GPU. I'd use the one that came with the monitor but it laughable short. I can run 200hz with no HDR and I think it works OK at 144hz with all the other crap enabled. I noticed that If I move my mouse cursor really fast on certain solid colors (white, pink, orange, yellow) the mouse cursor disappears even at 144hz/200hz (haven't tried 60). Some colors like black just do what my old IPS did and leave behind an after image. Anything else I should test for like banding or whatnot? I don't see any dead pixels... hopefully.TL;drDo I roll 144hz with HDR and adaptive sync on or 200hz with HDR OFF and adaptive sync on?

>>107252946Orca in general, more interested in small/medium organic system with a few heavy halogen atoms and an occasional nickel/zinc atom that i can plop landz on. I know that orca scales well up to like 16 cores, no point in going with a threadripper (mobos are expensive as entire high end systems what the fuck are they smoking) because at that point I would request a cluster anyway. The ram situation is pissing me off, cause i cant fully use up the 192 gb ram now, since that would essentially double the cost and some double hybrids or dplno-ccsd(t) can consume up to 16 gb of ram per core. Hence why im also kind of considering the 12 core chip with a bit of a higher frequency if i decide to lowball to 64 gb
>>107252826Do you have an NVMe drive? if you don't just buy the cheapest 1tb NVMe m.2 available for you, Crucial P310 for example, 1tb is good enough for your system and some gayms, 2tb is better but it will depend on your budget. Going from no NVMe to NVMe is massive quality of life upgrade for a pretty low price so it is the only thing I would conciser on a really tight budget. If you just bought a GPU then you have a working PC it went in, right? so you already have some RAM, be content with it. If you are poor there are some things you just can't afford and honestly, building PC in 2027 will be one of them.
>>107252914(((ccoincidence)))falling for the gookjew
>>107252950it depends on what you want and how you will use it. Will you build a raid server stack? will you just fill every sata port on your motherboard? or maybe an external drive case solution? What is your budget? Do you need NVMe speed? Do you need excess reliability? Do you need stupid huge storage space? Which one is a priority? All of these questions will guide you to the right drive or at least nail it down significantly.
>>107252965>The 5-pack arctic P12 is ridiculously cheap, so I'll think about the fans a little more. Though trying to install 5 extra fans sounds daunting. Would more fans make it more quiet or more noisy overall?if you set the fans with a low curve to just add a bit of fresh air and exahust should be quieter as they wont add much noise themselves and keep the system a bit cooler preventing it to reach the higher points of noise, that said it might be overkillIm a big fan of just adding 2 at the top on this setup and forgetting about the worldI mean most cases are pretty similar and im not gonna pretend to know better than noctuaThat said you could also put the rest above the psu shroud if needed.Again installing fans is very simple, decide if you want them as exhaust or intake, daisy chain them then screw them to the top of your case (or top of the psu as i mentioned) and plug them onto a random fan header, you mobo will have several open
>>107253035Yeah I have 2tb and a 1tb nvme (gen 4 and gen 3 respectively). I was talking about for a future am5 zen 6 build. Just trying to figure if prices are going to be that much worse by then.
>>107253092they will be, much worse. 2026 & 2027 are shaping up to be the dead years for RAM & NVMe consumer market, which in turn will hit any hardware that uses these chips.
>>107253116Moving to the new thread I guess
>>107252915If you have to ask, probably.
>>107252115I have 20k cash on hand (30 actually) should i unironically do this and double my money?
>>107252407Id put 2 front intake1 bottom intake 1 up top the cpu exhaust1 rear exhaust

>>107252924B770 is never coming, Celestial desktop has already been cancelled and only getting IGP implementations, Intel is effectively already out of the dGPU market. You vill pay $799 for an insufficient VRAM Nvidia card and you vill like it.
