I ordered all my parts. Got everything delivered but the RAM, which they are now saying will be delivered in January and is coming from Amazon Germany. I am terrified Amazon will cancel the order between now and then. Where the fuck am I buying 2x16gb DDR5 6000MHz RAM from in the UK for a fair price?

But they aren't using stacked cache meaning that their large L3 will come with a latency or peformance hit compared to x3d
>>
>>107365758
96mb of stacked cache vs 144mb of flat cache, I guess that will be the test. But Intel is giving you 52 cores, while AMD is giving you 8 or 16. I think Intel will win and AMD needs to step their game up again, finally.

I bought a used RTX 3060 TI a week ago for $190 (not including taxes), and it just arrived in the mail today, but when I *POPPED* it into my PC it cameup as a normal 3060 12GB Card, so I am kind of starting to stressout right now like I've got to drink to this bros.

Is this THAT big of a deal or nah? I'm considering asking for a refund or something, but at the same time I don't want to go through the hassle of all of that...Would a normal 3060 do good for vidya even to 2030? I was kind of trying to futureproof my PC, so idk what to think right now.

Already have a good enough motherboard, so I'll be selling the 870E, should probably get around $300 after fees for it. Also already have RAM, admittedly worse than the included RAM, but the included RAM is selling for about $180 after fees so not too worried.

Can the gesture/haptic button on the MX Master 4 be rebound to regular keypresses? You are playing the wrong games. There are a plethora of genres out there with masterpieces in each one. You aren't tired of gaming you are just tired of fpsslop. Branch out, try a jrpg, try some indie just like Noita, I promise you'll find something that reignites that passion. You are far too young to be over games. Unless you are playing cs2 at the professional level you don't need more than 60hz. You can't tell the difference and modern games can't push beyond that without billions of fake frames. You aren't even playing the game anymore just a concept of an idea of what the ai thinks the game is at that point.
>>
>>107366700
I have a total of 6 thermalright 120 fans in my PC and collectively they make less noise than my 3 dual bearing GPU fans. Spending an extra 150 bucks isn't going to cure your autistic noise obsession, hawktuas aren't that great performance wise, they're for aesthetics (flexing), build quality, long term compatibility, and customer service mostly.
>>
>>107366687
4090 doesn't come close to the upper limit of the cable. It usually pulls 410W at most which is only 6.2A out of the 9.2A that the cable is rated for, and the cable still melts

Average power is what matters most for heating up copper. Power spikes don't last long enough to matter in this case
>>

You can, it's some powershell command, just google it. Only problem I've had with it is windows asking me to set up an account every 3 days, which I haven't bothered to try to fix yet.
>>
>>107365395
1) Is the AMDip real or a meme? What causes the stutters and how do you fix them (in general)?
2) Does the cas latency for ram matter that much assuming its 6000mhz? And do the other timings matter that much as well?
3) Does the 9950x3d still have issues with scheduling on windows (and is core parking still an issue for any amd cpus)?
4) Are the 9800x3d and 5080 not worth it since they are not listed here?

Sorry for askfagging.
>>
>>107366646
Are you talking about the two 6 (or was it 8) pin things that plug in above and a little to the left of the cpu? All the guides I watched and I'm pretty sure even the motherboard manual said it was ok and good to plug in both of them. If you didn't you couldn't oc or anything.
And you are saying that was somehow causing your frametime spikes and you figured it out how? Just randomly unplugging things?

>>
>>107366878
The difference between oled and miniled isn't big enough to justify that. If you are going oled go big and at least get 32 or 42 inches.
>>
>>107366885
I haven't even tested mine in a real game yet I'm too scared. After fixing those spikes I did run it through the black myth wukong benchmark though and it did good. There was only one single spike so I hope that means it's ok. Going to pop it's cherry next month on the new path of exile 2 patch. Crossing my dick that everything goes well. I can't dig into the guts of my pc again, those cables were so difficult to plug in I'll never get them out. They will have to outlive me.
>>
>>107366793
The cable is pretty tight so it's more likely for people to not push it in all the way. And even if you seemingly install it correctly, the fit of the connector in the socket will greatly affect the current distribution since the resistance in an inspec cable is like 16 milliohms and having the pins slightly misaligned (while the connector is fully plugged) dictates whether some of the pins will carry 2-3x more current than other pins
>>

>Now, DigiTimes is reporting that storage is taking a hit, too, with delivery times for enterprise-grade HDDs delayed by two years.
Spinning rustbuddies might be in for a rougher time than the RAMbros. That said, the article seems to imply that rather than waiting, companies needing that level of storage are instead switching to enterprise-sized QLC SSDs. So perhaps enterprise HDDs won't be as affected, though I can't imagine people won't start charging more for current-circulation enterprise drives in light of the 2-year delay.

Is this good enough for RDR2? That's honestly all I really care about. Maybe I'll buy a better GPU if I can find a good deal, but right now I don't want to spend more than $400 upgrading my rig so I think a current gen CPU is out of the question.

This is not a pc ~building~ question but maybe you'll be nice to me. I'm looking for some sort of very cheap (ideally less than $500 USD) pc/minipc/laptop prebuilt, preferably something I can just fuck around on with Linux or something. I don't really need a powerful GPU since I'm not looking for a full fledged gaming machine but these ancient ass Intel iGPUs all over the place are a little too shit even for me, I want to do a little bit of non-performance heavy graphics programming and the Intel iGPUs seem to struggle running even simple 2d games.

I've seen some minipcs and laptops with AMD APUs, and the specs are decent as is the price, but the systems all seem to have reliability issues. Basically every option kind of seems shit. Any ideas or advice? Reliable brands? Anything else outside the box? (Also no need to factor in anything aside from the PC itself, I have monitors and peripherals)

one weird thing that I noticed from upgrading from the gtx 1070 to the rx 9070 xt is that the mouse feels much smoother in this 240hz screen, I think maybe the 1070 struggled with such high refresh rate, it's so much more precise now
>>
>>107368841
Sure, those competitors are just going to pop out of the ground and start making advanced technology from scratch with suppliers and transportation all ready to go. It just doesn't work that way. It would also most likely be China focused first so even if there are new players in the market it will take a long time for their production to start spilling over to international markets. At least with RAM there isn't as much of a problem with bleeding edge tech being the only kind of tech that anyone wants; as long as they pump out DDR5 it will eventually spill over. Eventually.

their supply will lower the prices of the other nand factories, they'll be doing good even if we don't buy it, but nand and dram is not particularly super high tech compared to cpus and gpus, they'll be making good stuff I'm sure
>>
>>107369200
That depends on whether they think it's okay to cut corners in reliability testing and QC which chinks tend to do. Though I haven't had any cxmt made products before so I'd wait and see if they're reliable enough to use before buying one of their ram sticks at all.

well, looks like most of my parts came in
I have a 5700x3d build that I upgraded from a 5700xt to an rx 6800 I snagged for $280 and upgraded the ram from 16gb to 48gb (bought a $90 32gb kit and slapped it in there)
I have a 6x pcie SATA adapter coming in so I can mount some used enterprise SSDs I picked up (3x 1tb SSDs for $45 each) and use my board's NVME slot without hurting from losing two sata ports.

I also finally upgraded my decade old EVGA 750G2 to a Super Flower 750 Combat PSU for $60.

Did some testing and Ultra RT settings in cyberpunk is actually perfectly fine on this build at 1080p I was averaging 100-120 FPS with XESS quality and frame gen on.

Is there much reason to go for a 3 fan model for the 5060ti? I'll most probably be undervolting it a bit, since I've read in these threads that that's a good idea for the blackwell gpu's.

You probably should, there will be a lot less people using LLMs next year so you’ll be able to get hardware at a significant discount. Like you people think that the AI/LLM bubble isn’t going to burst before 2027? We can all tell by now that LLMs are not the path to AGI.

"AI" is a repeat of the Chinese construction scam, but at a global level. Build build build. Spend spend spend. Invest invest invest. It's crypto bullshit all over again. Magic beans. And it's been packaged in various ways, like as the ultimate surveillance tool. So authoritarian governments are all gung-ho and on-board with pissing away their last pennies on it. It's a perfect scam with no actual tangible real-world applications.

You can check the pins on the cable on both ends. If it seems like one(or more) of the pins is deeper set in the plastic get a replacement. Of course that won't guarantee no melt. Power limiting can help as well but there's no guarantee. Basically you have to rely on luck unless you start using tools to monitor the wires.
