There's times I'll have no work for a few hours so I'll play some isaac or minecraft sometimes. I mainly like to read or watch youtube when waiting and discord is my only "social media" thing I have so it's just to get messages. The thing next to discord is what I use for work to remote into my work computer. Which, all I use that for is to remote into another computer for our contractors which then requires me to remote into other computers half the time. So I end up remoting in 3 times most of the day.

Well, the Xfce panel is a little trick. Its background is transparent (rgba 0,0,0,0) and that visible panel background is made with Inkscape and baked into a wallpaper.
Gtk theme is Greybird with a lot of modifications, simple gtk.css edits. WM theme is based on preinstalled 'default-4.6' theme. I just made it grey for active/inactive windows.

I love that you can customize your Linux system exactly how you want. Only problem I found is that the icons sometimes don't match panel/window and network-manager ignores icon themes. This happen only in Xfce 4.20, 4.18 didn't had this problem.

So my desktop (lol it's a laptop) runs Debian 13 with Xfce, fonts used are Roboto Flex and Input Mono Narrow for terminal, music player is QuodLX and image viewer qView.

It's like the mother of some of the other subgenres of rap, Outkast in that Debut era had a particular rap genre called Southern Rap, which as you may assume by the name it comes mainly from the south of USA and has different meanings in it's message, It also served as some kind of pre-alpha (I say it this way so you can all folks understand) for subgenres Memphis rap and other sub genres. Linux mint is the only reason I'll use linux.

It has the best software store
It has the best update manager
It has the best tools for image/video viewing like xviewer and celluloid
It has the best utilities like bulk rename and usb formatter as well as many others like transmission installed out the box
It has the best installer and printer support configured out of the box

Honestly is it dangerous to allow mint this much consolidated power? There's no other linux distro that comes even close to the polish besides maybe steamOS but that can't run on all PC's, mint XFCE can run on most.

i'll tell you as an arch user that pacman and yay (or ANY AUR helper for that matter) are absolutely abysmal, given that they are terminal-only and a terminal-only package manager pretty much goes against mint's easy to use premise, which the likes of apt (used in mint, other debian/ubuntu forks) and dnf (fedora and derivatives) easily fill up across various desktop environments, but also pacman while it does have simpler commands (thus faster to type), it's not as easy to guess what does what (compare pacman -S to apt-get install or dnf install).

El Furro here again: I tried a few Linux distros (all Ubuntu-based since that seems to be the recommended "base" distro for reviving older hardware that isn't ancient-tier), but external video doesn't work, at least not out of the box. And the Retina display is far too fucked to feasibly open and navigate options (I tried).

Stayed up late trying to recreate the Greatest of All Time in Wayland on my M2 Macbook
Still a few things I need to figure out (like getting dynamic icons in the status bar and switching the audio format)
Might end up dropping slstatus, might even end up switching bar providers idk.
If anyone has experience ricing dwl, which bar do you use? My dwm build I have a bunch of simple scripts that update temp files and are called at different intervals by a master bar refresh script that just prints info from those files and if it's been X seconds it refreshes, say the empty disk space or current time. The audio commands also auto-update themselves.
Another annoying thing I dont know how to solve is f6 keeps causing the computer to go into sleep. I've tried different methods of suppressing that functionality to no avail.
Anyways still pretty happy with the results so far. Asahi Linux is very usable and I don't think I'll be booting MacOS on this machine again any time soon.
