FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
Usage: paste this into Powershell, run.

>and Office?
Same link, select Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

most people are on small laptop screens, or on displays with 4k or 1440p rez nowadays, at least ones buying new devices for w11, and its considered modern not to overwhelm the user with choice and make stuff larger, easier to see, and offer less options. tbf i have good eyesight and still on a 27" 1440p screen i prefer w11 ui over w10, file explorer is so small and cluttered on w10 nowadays, same with context menu.

taskbar is larger, start menu (newest one) also, even some of the file explorer elements are larger, and every app has gotten updated with same enlargening and engoodening like calc/notepad/paint/photos/media player etc. I like it personally, it's easier to see and get shit done, especially in simple apps, like if I'm using any of these apps I want them to be simple and easy to spot what I need, and if I'm using a power tool I couldn't care less how complicated or pretty it is, but the base OS shouldn't look cluttereted and overwhelming or have tiny UI

Who wrote this?

Does anyone have any good recommendation for image viewers?
I used to use ime.exe for a long time (or w/e it was called) because it was very simple with no UI but some files broke so I moved to windows photos, now on a new install I want to break away from that.
I might have to resort to using mpv as an image viewer.

Having trouble with an xbox 360 controller receiver.

It gets tagged as a controller instead. Installing different drivers from device management doesn't work, still shows up as a controller.

If I uninstall the drivers it disappears and if I unplug and plug it back in, it shows up as a controller again.

Any help regarding this?

Basically, defender is bad because they don't disclose shit to public. which makes it worse than those that do admit to collecting your data.

>>107466493
There is no promise that those checkboxes do anything.

>>107466598
the idea behind cloud protection is that they would send the file metadata like hash, path, size etc. to check against the central database for known bad files.
If the file was never seen before by the AV company and you didn't disable file submission (assuming it does what it says it does), it will send the whole file to be analyzed.
And this can be any file. exe, docx, pdf etc.
>>
>>107467516
seems like there's barely any difference across the AVs tbqh
>>

reddit spacing is the most retarded meme in 4chan, spacing just makes paragraphs more readable and organized, it's been used everywhere since forever, I genuinely think that anyone who believes that it's a reddit-only thing is an illiterate monkey

>>
>>107475005
it may have worked for a brief moment, but it's literally just bullshit now, I can't fathom a person that has read at least one book in his life that believes that an empty line between paragraphs is something that comes from a single website
>>
>>107474957
>>107475005
>>107475050
It's because of how new lines work in reddit vs 4chin. In reddit, you need a double return to form paragraphs while 4chan only one return is needed. So a double spaced paragraph in 4chin is a telltale sign that they tried to start a new paragraph without them knowing that a single return is enough.

i bought a powerspec from microcenter and im having a few issues. so when i set it up it asked me to name it and i gave it, then during step 1 it was on each percent for like 30 minutes each percent. when it finally went to 26 percent i went out outside for a cigarette and when i came back it crashed with the error message "OOBEDEVICENAMECOMMIT" and there was no option to skip or restart so i opened command prompt and and it wouldn't type despite my keyboard being plugged in and the capslock light turning on/off, so i held down the power button to restart it. when i turned it back on it was on 98% percent. it went good after that but when i was working with it, some things were named the name i chose and others were named Desktop(random numbers). i started installing things and realised onedrive was still active even though i disabled it during setup and when i loaded in. now half of my computers stuff is named Desktop+(some numbers) and the name i chose.
now for some reason some stuff is in /Desktop(some numbers)/Documents, /(name i chose)/Documents, /(name)/Onedrive/Documents
this is fucking annoying
googling says to my rename my pc again to fix it. then disable onedrive somewhere and move all of my files to where i want them

I don't post on reddit but I don't believe this is true. It makes no sense that their text entry would operate much differently from anywhere else on the internet. NTA but the steam client is fucking atrocious.

They expect you to write your chat response, on TWO fucking lines. You CANNOT resize the box manually, the "only" way to do so is by copy/pasting a large amount of text into the box and HOPING it auto-resizes itself. Otherwise, you gotta type that shit out in notepad if you wanna read it...

>>
>>107484065
care to extrapolate?

if you expected to boot a desktop from the USB then that's not possible, the ISO is just a installer, Rufus can actually do that through Windows To Go iirc

If you wanted to change the key of your current Windows install to upgrade to LTSC then that's normally not allowed because you can't go from 22H2 to 21H2, you need a small trick from the Massgrave page to be able to change it without a reinstall

Months ago I entered "Dism /Online /Disable-Feature /Featurename:Recall" in the command line to turn off windows recall. I'm wondering, should it still be off or have any updates changed anything? When I enter the Featureinfo command it doesn't detect anything, when I attempt to re-enable it, it detects nothing.

Did they change how this works? I just want it off, I want all forced AI crap off my windows. I saw another thing about turning it off through registry editor, and there is no directory for WindowsAI in it, as I was informed there would be.

wanna do a clean reinstall of windows without touching e:
do I have to worry about those two drive 0 partitions or just tell the windows installer to just reinstall on c: and it'll deal with those?

You can use diskpart within the setup USB to take your data partition offline and clean the C:\ drive partition, which you can then install Windows fresh on again.

What is Anna's archive?

>clean the C:\ drive partition
AFAIK the "clean" command is only for the entire disk as it's for deleting the partition table
Never deleted specific partitions with diskpart but I think he'd have to use the "delete" command instead

libgen alternative https://annas-archive.org/

IMO it's the best site for that

It's great except my downloads keep on being stalled even though I set max simult. downloads to 1
>>
>>107499232
IIRC if you donate to the site you get faster downloads?

It also adds a bunch of fixes to make Explorer's dark mode look better.

You do, and also more than one simult downloads. Even though I set jdownloader to download one at a time, all 3 would stall due to hitting rate limit

Do you guys know anything about AMD driver corruption on windows 10 LTSC? Somehow the drivers get messed up and windows installs some basic driver in its place that doesn't have 3D capabilities obviously. Is this a windows 10 issue in general? A fault in the driver software? An LTSC issue?

Hey there. What music player do you guys recommend for W10 IoT LTSC? I'm not seeing it in the pastebins in the OP.

foobar2k or MusicBee
>>
>>107501683
Which one is more lightweight and which one is better?
>>
>>107501692
foobar2k is pure Win32 while MusicBee is a bit more fancy. Just look at both of them and see what you think.

Just go to https://www.monkrus.ws/ which is going to redirect you to w17.

When you have no driver it uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter which has no 3d acceleration.
It should never revert back to this unless you DDU. What you probably mean is Windows Update updating the drivers automatically and replacing it with a older one. You can disable that.

Any help?

Since rufus is windows only, whats the non retarded way to flash the iso on linux? Is it just a dd command. I'm just installing ventoy but there's probably a better way
>>
>>107503269
Best options on Linux for Windows ISO flashing is Ventoy or WoeUSB-ng.

I guess they already included the security update in the repair versions? I might be retarded

These post fascinate me because I've never had problems with installing monthly updates, like ever since I started using 10 like three years ago.

I don't know the specific details why, but for some reason this doesn't work with Windows ISOs. You have to use something like this:
https://github.com/WoeUSB/WoeUSB-ng

I haven't had issues with updates since like Windows XP, today's Security Update is the first time in like decades it threw a shitfit. Tried the usual file checkers, DISM, even cleared update cache, continued to error.
Then I reinstalled 25H2 and now it acts like there wasn't a security update at all which I assume means it was included with the reinstall. It was weird.

Fuck that

Get the driver from the LOQ15 support page on your phone or something and put it on the laptop
