they're pretty much on par but AMD has a quirk where if you want lower latency you have to run the clocks in sync with the cpu controller and the clocks cant go as high. you can decouple the clocks for more memory bandwidth but you get a latency penalty.

It's odd that no one has replicated these results. The only other data I can find is from the Gamers Nexus review of the Meshify 3 where they test the case with the default fans (3x Momentum 14 RGB) and with Noctua fans (2x A14x25 G2). And it wasn't that way at launch the R9 was worse (but cheaper). However thanks to Finewine the R9 290X beats the 780ti in basically every modern game so it's the better card.

You don't even have to use the full 800W to benefit from it. Keeping it at 600W already increases performance because asus made the bios have better throttling behavior than other bioses and it having a much higher base offset mhz also means that the bios clock stretches far less than if you manually OC'd any other bios. Well it depends on what you do, the 9060 XT is much faster so the only time the 12gb will matter is for productivity task and AI, look at some benchmarks before you buy those cards but if you are only gaming on 1080p you'll be much happier with a 9060 xt 8gb specially if the 16gb cards are out of your budget or the price difference between them is stupidly high so do a price comparison between the historic price of the 8gb and 16gb model of the 9060 xt and 5060 ti on your country first

I currently have an i7 13700k and it shit the bed again, 2nd time, to what CPU should I upgrade to keep my system working stable for some time to come?

Asus b760, RX 7800xt and 128gb DDR4 3200, I don't really want to upgrade many components, especially not the memory and GPU, but I am fed up with 13th gen Intel... even if I get it replaced for free again, I don't want to deal with that again in 2 years.

I think I have 2 real options, keep everything and just drop in a 12700k(f)/12900k(f/s) or get a 5000 series Ryzen, 5800xt or 5950x look pretty nice.

These upgrade are between 220€ and 400€, I think with that I should be good to go for 2 more years at least, I only play very few games and if I do I am fine with 1080 and even 60hz is fine for me, I mostly use VMs and have a few dev workloads that use memory like Chrome did back in the day.

But like I said, with that CPU you will not see the leap from a 9060xt compared to the 3060. In basically any modern game the cpu will hold back both gpu's. As long as your customers understand what you are doing and the software feature gap between generations isn't too large, having high ends only once every two generations will fit in with the spending and upgrade habits of people better. Only very fat moneybags can afford to go from 3090-4090-5090-6090 every single generation. The "average" 3090 owner may be holding onto it until the 6090 in the worst case scenario, but those seeking to keep refresh rates high will have good reason to jump from 3090 or 3090 Ti to 5090 right now (about >100% improvement). Those on weaker classes of cards don't change cards every generation either, but there will be a larger pool of customers who will want to upgrade to the next entry or midrange on any given new generation. These entry and midrangers still would have more incentive to upgrade often because of Boots economic theory, so best to provide an option every generation.

However, Radeon has a problem with the "software feature gap isn't too large" as exemplified by their current FSR4 & Redstone shenanigans so they can't leverage this strategy properly.

Sounds about right, I could even jump to the 12900ks as they are 10 bucks cheaper here and my PC can handle cooling with my Noctua D15.

My friend said that some of them use the lanes that the GPU or cou usess which in turn gives worse performance so unless you buy a special mobo that isn't sharing lanes , it's better to stick with the sata ssds despite the slower speeds.

How true is this? Because I have 4 ssds (sata) already and I'm planning on getting a 4tb m.2. But not sure if it will buck up my 5080.

Is it worth grabbing 2TB m.2 drives right now even if I don't need them?
There are a couple mid-tier Gen4 drives going for $124 and a few high-tiers going for $140 in a local store, but not sure if either one is worth it if I don't explicitly need it. For reference, the $124 drives are currently going for $180 and the $140 drives are going for $220 on major retail sites. The $140 drives are actually the cheapest they've been all year for some reason.
