Radeon is developing better GPUs, and AMD is killing it with their CPUs.
People who expected some miracle out of Redstone are just retarded.

I'll be happy to see better alternatives in the future.
No point cheering for NVIDIA or wishing for the demise of AMD.
Just buy what makes sense for you within your budget.
>>
>>107518376
Nobody cares if they're developing better GPUs in the future, outside of enterprise clients. Consumers can watch in real time as AMD abandons its previous reputation for long term driver support, at the same time that leaked files let you drop in a dll to circumvent artificial software feature restrictions. AMD CPUs are still the only x86 platform worth buying, but they lost their only competitive advantage in GPUs to their own stubbornness. You'd have to be an idiot to buy AMD GPUs now that they've started dropping feature support even faster than njudea

The point is that things would be even worse without these Radeon cards.
And AMD had to choose its development priorities between CPU and GPUs, given the limited funding.
You get the features that were guaranteed at the time of purchase; that's what you're entitled to; everything else is a bonus.

AMD didn't commit to AI/ML as hard as NVIDIA, so they thought stuff like ML upscalers wouldn't be as impactful as they turned out during RDNA2 & 3's development.
Many people who bought these cards said they don't care about FSR/DLSS, so they get to live with that choice.
>>

I don't expect them to lower the prices again, but maybe there's a christmas deal, idk

AMD didn't invest much into AI-accelerated rendering features because Radeon's largest customer (Sony) didn't need them yet.
It's not a coincidence FSR 1 was designed to run on PS4 and other last-gen consoles.
Radeon didn't prioritize image quality; they wanted Sony to sample it to get feedback on future GPU development.
AMD & Sony are in a pals for life business relationship because the PS4 SoC orders funded Ryzen & Epyc CPU development.

I'd get an RTX card if you don't want to deal with Optiscaler to enable FSR Upscaling.
You need to run an upscaler to claw back some of the performance lost from enabling RT/PT in most games.
Path tracing performance is also not fully optimized for RX 9000 cards yet.

2. PSU - I'm torn between Corsair HX1200i (2025) and Seasonic PRIME TX-1300 --- I want the best and to have it last 10 years with no coil whine. I lucked out with my past Seasonic. My head hurts when trying to find a multi rail that isn't a coin flip.
3. A case that can fit a 210mm PSU + my Noctuua + holds 2 SSDs and 2 3.5" HDD.

250 nits qdoled is really not equal to 250 nits lcd though
also the color saturation helps
it's way brighter than it seems
plus you have 400-1000 nits hdr
asus models also have unlockable unform brightness in sdr so you can get up to 400 nits in smaller windows if you can cope with brightness flactuations
but really it's more than enough

>why?
because samsung limited the panels from factory

samsung oled monitors on sale are by far the best value though but damn they have shit qc and shit like the fucking powerbutton knob can break like goly fuck
plus the matte coating
and lacking features like usb-c

but for a good price and a non shitty pixel refresh thing it would be worth it
it's 50€ higher than what they dipped to on black friday though, they are still not selling
I feel they might even be cheaper later

but question remains 27" or 32"
but 27" tend to be more expensive
27" has not been as low as 499€ since back then either.....

Get the HX1200i over the Prime TX-1300.
SeaSonic is going to release a safer version of that PSU in the future; no point paying the Prime TX premium when you know a better unit will be out in 1~2 years.
Both of these PSUs are way overkill for a frikkin Ventus 5070 Ti.
I'd even go down to an RM1000x and spend the savings on a better 5070 Ti model (or even a 5080).

5060 Ti 16GB should age better as it gets support for newer DLSS models. The 2060 from 2018 supports DLSS4 Transformer Model for better upscaling than FSR4 on the 9060 XT, which is only about as good as the old DLSS3.

No, even for 1000 € I wouldn't switch now, still its more than 50 % weaker than a 4090 because you can OC that too. My plan was to get a cheap waterblock and the Alphacool Eiswolf, I got one for effectively 25 € that is now laying around. Sadly the only block for 9070 XT costs 200 € so its not worth to pay 1/3 of the cards value for a shit card.

The gap to 5090 is just immense, used 4090 go for 2 K again now. There is ZERO hope until 2027. But I intend to save 3 K to be able to scalp a 6090 ideally so I can get a free upgrade again and finally buy UDNA+waterblock, if I could ripp some rich person off enough I would even consider a full custom loop (hardline). But that would be minimum 500 € even if I bought some parts used from forums.

Then you are probably rich and careless. Although some people also bought a 5090 because they sold their used 4090 for 2 K and it was just a few hundreds when it was on stock for about 2.2 K. In that situation its reasonable, its probably 30 % improvement over 4090 but also high power draw. Watercooling is practically mandationary on that card.

Nope. Pretty poor just saved my cash. When the 6090 is 3k with a street price of 4k for a 15 percent uplift, the 5090 will look like a deal. That said I waited for a 4090, but that got stupid. If I had one i'd still be using it instead of buying a 5090.

In this case I would skip it to wait for the 7090 but since we know that it will be based on a new architecture we may expect a jump like we saw with the 4090 and this jump from the level of the 5090 means that I can finally justify to upgrade my 4090.

VAs are not gaming tvs at all

I'm a dumb pay pig who uses Amazon too much because of their lenient customer support.
However, due to stock and timing, I had to buy my GPU from Newegg.

games have regressed and look worse now. It's all a muddy overload of overtextured grainy sludge now. Game environments these days don't have any good contrast against actual gameplay elements thus there's a huge loss of clarity. You can't actually tell what anything looks like at first glance now which is ironic considering how "realistic" things look in new games
>>
>>107522006
thankfully the handful of non-ue5 games still look great
>>
>>107522006
also wanna add, just look up screenshots of MHGU vs MHwilds (or even rise or worlds) to see what I mean.
MHGU is clean and sharp, and you can instantly tell what and where everything is on screen.
MHwilds/rise/worlds are really muddy (even with post processing turned off) and it takes a second to process what's going on on the screen and where everything is.

I use one as my main and its fine, the depth compared to IPS is really nice and 180 hz is enough for most shit these days considering how unoptimized everything is.
The ghosting isn't so obvious it annoys me, the big gripe I have is the low number of zones so you see blooming if its a pretty minimal scene and I would say its the biggest drawback by far.
I would have bought OLED if I didn't have static content most of the time but this feels like a good middle ground, especially for the price.

Uhhb bros I just installed my 5070ti and windows isn't detecting it. I'm starting to get a bit worried. Lights turn on, I don't think I see any warning lights but I'm not sure where those would be. I can use windows with the igpu and see that no other gpu is detected. Never used a gpu with this motherboard, there is no other pci slot to try. Tried removing and placing the card once to no avail. Tried dp and hdmi but the gpu should show up Un windows even if there was something was wrong with the display connection, right? Tried changing bios from auto to pci 4. I'm starting to get a bit worried.

Nah, definitely not. You can get the ASRock challenger for $599 and it is a better form factor and about the same build quality as the lower end Gigabyte stuff.

You can get the Powercolor Hellhound and Red Devil for cheaper than that, both of which are better build quality.

Bro, you probably spend more time thinking about that shit than like 99% of Radeon owners. What is the point of the childish brand loyalty nonsense? I literally have PC's with all three of the brands, and they are all good at what they do. My work PC has my 3080 (soon to be 5080 if Amazon actually fulfills my fucking order), my HTPC in the living room has an arc b580, and my wifes PC has an RX 9060 XT 16gb. They all are just fine and do their jobs well enough.

Gigabyte literally has had a ton of QC issues on their lower end cards for this generation (both AMD and Nvidia). Yes, Gigabyte has fumbled that badly that the ASRock challenger cards are literally better build quality than their Windforce cards.

Power Color Hellhound and Red Devil cards have always been better than the entry level from Gigabyte/MSI/etc. They are on the same level of production quality as the Asus TUF gaming stuff and have a really good reputation.
