Strategy of returning a new PSU until you find that one your GPU is okay to bread with is 100% better, so give me hope anon

Just lack ambition on Sundays to get started. It'll happen at some point, but I work 6 days, do stuff after work 4-5 days a week, and on Sunday it's a split between family events and just relaxing. PC building is relaxing, but cable management seems more like mowing the lawn.

How do you use this setup? Like do you sit behind one of these things and burn your retinas into charcoal with screens? or do you snatch the keyboard and jump in some comfy chair 2 meters away?
if its the former get yourself an L shaped curved office/custom desk with a lot of space, like at least 2 times what you have on that image, you can even make one yourself as a side project if you are into that or at least use wall mounts for the monitors. it would immediately and dramatically improve your QOL

Ultrawide on the left is for photography work. I need as much display real estate as possible when there's before/after work being done. Also wonderful for right now when I have this window open on the right and the game on the left. The 43" monitor on the right is great when I want to watch something from the PC from the couch. That BTF supplementary power connection makes the 12V-2x6 connector safer in daily gaming loads by splitting the total power delivery.
The 5090 didn't draw the full 575/600W in most games.
If a 5090's 12V-2x6 connector needed to supply 400~500W of power, the one on the Matrix's only needs to send 300~400W.

What's the issue with 4 sticks? Something related with power, I assume? Or other problems as well?
On a sidenote, I looked up some extra stuff, and apparently my CPU (Ryzen 5 5600) supposedly has a slight performance boost when using 4 sticks. My motherboard's a B550M AORUS Pro-P, not sure if that has an influence as well.
Just trying to know what's what and actually get at least some slight understanding of how the hell this works before actually committing. The price bump for 2 x 16GB is a bit rough since I also recently upgraded my GPU, and now there's also Xmas stuff to deal with kek

I am thinking of buying a new GPU, my budget is very low, 200€, and it seems like the best card I can find for that price is the RTX 3050 6GB, I keep hearing this is a horrible card for the price, both here and on other sites, but I genuinely cannot find anything better for this budget. To give you more info, I mostly use my PC for gaming, but I play always at the lowest settings on 1080p/900p(depends if fullscreen or windowed), and I don't mind playing at these settings even after upgrading, and I'm basically just upgrading because there are some interesting games that my 750 Ti just cannot run at this point. People often recommend cards over it, like the RX6600 but I checked the stores and that think is +300€ where I live.

Considering what I am going to use it for, is the 3050 6GB really that bad?
>>
>>107550367
Consider used. Consider buying a 1-2 year old gaming PC and harvesting the parts. Use the GPU, sell the ram for profit, the rest for what you can, and you might end up getting the card for free after all is said and done.

Should I buy AIO or Air Cooler?

Why are AIOs so expensive. It's like 75 vs 30 for an air cooler
>>
>tfw couldn't buy the 5070 Ti in my town for $833 because I was sick and nobody else in my family can drive
Fuck... I hate being Polish sometimes...
>>
>>107550436
Lower power CPUs can run on air. Higher power CPUs require liquid. It's really that simple. Running a 5600x? The included air cooler is fine. Running an overclocked 9800x3d? You need more.
>>
>>107550446
Don't beat yourself up. Being Polish has its upsides. Like exchanging underwear to reproduce. Much simpler than complex relationships.
>>
>>107550367
you can flip burgers for 1 day, get yourself another 100$ and buy something 8 times better
>>
>>107550389
I've thought about getting used, I could get an RX6600 for less than 200(shipping cost included) bucks if I bought a used/refurbished one, but with my luck I fear I might get a dead card or one that breaks after a few months. Still, a good option to consider now that you mention it. The whole harvesting parts from a PC seems like a hassle though, I doubt I'll do that.
>>107550390
Can't seem to find it anywhere near that price, cheapest is like 280, even the B570 starts at around 240.

DRAM on SSDs? It's pointless.

DRAM is a cheat-sy way to give SSDs super high speeds on benchmarks for short periods of time.

When SATA SSDs first came out they were slower. DRAM allowed it to push 500-550 megabytes per second. Today almost every SATA SSD pushes 500-550 megabytes per second with or without DRAM.

When NVMe SSDs came out - DRAM allowed them to push 2,500-3,500 megabytes per second. Today DRAM-less drives like the SN550, Crucial P1, and Samsung 980 have no issues pushing these speeds.

Now that Gen4 NVMe SSDs are out - DRAM allows them push 5,000 - 7,000 megabytes per second.

DRAM itself is good for 10,000 - 20,000 megabytes per second. DRAM-less is now good for about 3,500. SATA is good for 550.

Here's a secret- no matter whether you want the job for 6 days or 6 years, ALWAYS ask about advancement, like if the company likes to promote from within, what would a long term career path look like, etc. Companies LOVE to hire people who appear to want to stay a long time.

How should you set up fan speeds on an AIO?
Before it was just setting up a fan curve for the CPU cooler, but now there's these two variables. I guess I have to treat the pump like a CPU cooler and the radiator fans like just extra case fans?
>>
>>107550631
>delivery boy for amazon, night warden for some toilets in walmart.
Not him but like that anon said, literal boomer fantasy, since you mentioned walmart it might just be that the job market in the US is much more healthy, but in my EU country even getting a job like that is hard.
>>
Is an RTX 3090 a good GPU for the RAM apocalypse instead of a 5070 Ti?
>>
>>107550764
Set the pump at 80-100%. Don't make a fan curve, make it constant.
Set your radiator fans around 10-15% faster than your regular exhaust fans because it has to push air through the radiator so it needs to spin a bit faster.
>>
>>107550745
>>107550787
Very much depends on the aera and the jobs
But yes in general, if you don't care about doing anything specific, jobs are everywhere.

Even moderately skilled jobs are more open than ever. Datacenters hiring people with no tech experience. Skilled manufacturing are willing to "take people in" so to speak. I even rejected a place that does wiring harnesses.

Normies are weird tho and think there are no jobs between walmart and office work.

I started playing this game called Nier: Automata recently and it runs at a locked 60 fps, it never drops, but it doesn't feel "smooth", I don’t know how to explain but despite being 60 fps it looks like 30 or so sometimes. My GPU and my CPU are strong enough to run this game flawlessly at 1080p (9060XT+5700X3D), anyone knows what might be causing this? Could it be a GPU/CPU/Drivers issue? Or maybe I just got too used to playing at 100 fps and now that I'm playing a game that runs at 60 it doesn’t feel as smooth?

with 500 euro budget you are not in a position to argue about it. if you can somehow get a decent CPU and 6 whole gigaboos of ddr5? holy shit deal of the century. Short answer - not all 8gb GPUs are made equal so the easiest way is just to check benchmarks in each case. You can get a non shit card with 8gb, it won't be future proof it won't run shit at high but it will do, you can also get dogshit that will make your anus bleed untill the end of the decade, the funny here is that both will cost about the same.

If the walls aren't concrete, literally get 3 quotes from local electricians on fishing wire. It's piss easy but a hassle depending on your drywall. Unless you got brick and cinder, then still, besides having to pay a bit more to have them buy coring drill bits for the job, you can have them sleeve through and then just foam/caulk to future proof.
That's probably $1500-3000 depending on where you live and local wages.

Yes you draw it on the plate. Just draw a thin X shape, or place several evenly spaced dots all over the surface (not too much, it won't hurt anything but make a huge mess that will be a pain to clean next time). Once that's done just place the cooler on top and tighten it down.

they know they won't sell and they are already saying they aren't going to make more ram anyway so even when it comes to the ram they do make why would they make big kits? its additional, it can be ~40% of the cost of the figurine, depending on the choice, you wont pay for shipping until its finished and ready TO ship however. Air Small Packet registered, or unregistered is generally the best choice depending on the value and size of the figurine.

>Since when being poor is a bad thing?
Since not being able to afford housing, food or some technology you want just to play videogames more comfortably
Being broke sucks, I'm broke af myself, and I think this might be the worst thread to discuss being poor because literally everything about building a PC is expensive unless you live in second-hand market paradise

Bros. I think I heard a beeping kind of alarm sound and it came from my right just where my PC is. Or maybe some really whiny grinding sound or something. And I'm quite sure it wasn't from the game I was playing.

Should I be worried my 3090 is on it's way out?

I don't have a single cent in my bank account and yet I have a PC that can run everything. Don't accumulate wealth, don't get attached to material things, use them for your needs but don't assign value to them like the other anon was doing.
>>
>>107554138
You're always poor to someone else. If you prefer working with your hands or being a craftsman, you will always be poor. At least relatively.
>>
>>107554138
True, I'm poor and also in deep debt
Actually how much money do you have to own a bank to be considered deep debt? I guess it doesn't really matter if you don't make enough money to pay monthly
>>
>>107554150
Some motherboards have a beeping for error warning.
>>
>>107554151
Build the cheapest 5090 rig possible. It will perform within 10 percent of the best, if you use reasonable parts.

>>107554161
The best way to deal with deep deep debt is to spend only the bare minimum to survive and put all your money toward your debt. Interest on debt is always higher than any kind of savings instrument. Even considering selling whatever shit you don't need and pay that down. Before it drowns you.
>>
>>107554175
How much is your 'rainy day fund'?
I already spent 5k of my 10k this year. I always give myself 10k a year for whatever I want but I don't go over that. And if I have leftovers I invest it.

In 25 years I've never seen one nor heard of even a third the hourly rate. Not at a dealership anyways. Best rate I've ever got was $17 out of $60 at a private shop. That was the early 2000's. Porsche was horrid $27/180 and $20/150. Hyundai was $17/120.
>>
>>107554439
Totally depends on the success of the shop in question. And, yes, dealerships are notoriously stingy. Or, at least were. Local dealer group is claiming $35/hr starting and more for experienced techs... and a $30k signing bonus. They're desperate. But, a good private shop can earn a tech a lot more.

I hope so. The problem is they are greedy. They don't want to pay for quality they want cheap. The last Porsche dealership hired two kids of the street because the GM saw them working on cars in their driveway. All they did was fuck shit up and had no business touching any car let alone a high end car. But bumping my pay was out of the question so I left. It's short term greed and there is no end to that. Anyone smart walked off long ago and you mostly have retards that deservingly only get shit pay. It's like outsourcing to India and the tech sphere. If you have $50 in Harbor Freight tools you must be a tech. Shit is fucked.
