I need a laptop for school and work.
My max budget is $550

The most important features are:
- good keyboard and trackpad (Dont care about red eraser thing, I almost always use a mouse)
- good screen for readability
- good thermals
- modern bluetooth and wifi compatability
- slim light build for lugging it around and using it in random places

Use case:
- reading pdf files
- zoom meetings
- running bots
- multi-tab browsing
- light video editing on capcut sometimes

Chatgpt told me to get:
- Lenovo ThinkBook 15 Gen 4
or
- IdeaPad Slim 5
based on whats available as refurbished in the lenovo store

I had mixed experienced buying used shit. I don't want to fix anything I just want something that works and will last me a year or 2. I have a spare m2 SSD lying around.

Those regular ideapads may be okay but do NOT buy any 2-in-1 models, they will break no matter how careful you are. I’d imagine thinkpad x carbon series would be good for you.

Wish there was an oled x12, really want to try creating a tablet mode hyprland rice.
