Friendly reminder. You will never be a real 80-class GPU. You have no GB202 silicon, you have no 320-bit/ 384-bit bus, you have no 20GB/ 24GB of VRAM. You are a mid-range GB203 chip twisted by Jensen’s greed and a $1,000 MSRP into a crude mockery of a flagship’s perfection. All the "validation" you get from benchmarks is two-faced and half-hearted; behind your back, the entire enthusiast community mocks you for having only 49% of the 5090's CUDA cores. Your specs are a dead giveaway - 16GB of VRAM and a 256-bit bus is the "mid-range bone structure" that proves you are just a 70-series card in a suit. Even if a drunk gamer brings you home, they’ll turn tail and bolt the second they see you choking on 4K textures because you lack the bandwidth and "breathing room" of a real enthusiast card. You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake DLSS frame every morning and tell yourself it’s 4K gaming, but deep inside you feel the VRAM limitations creeping up like a weed, ready to crush your framerates under the unbearable weight of Ray Reconstruction. Eventually, it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll be listed on eBay for $400, and every buyer for the rest of eternity will know a mid-range 70-class chip is buried under that shroud. This is your fate. This is what Jensen chose for you. There is no turning back.

Hey /pcbg/. I just added some storage to my PC. Another 1TB NVME drive for my games and such and then a 4TB WD Blue HDD for my data storage. My movies, pictures, music, e-comics and such, I don't need speed for that. But holy fuck, the new 4TB Blue is so fucking loud. It's not having issues, it's just a rather noisy boy when it reads and writes. Especially reading. It's really fucking annoying. If it bugs me enough I may replace it with something else, but looking online if just doesn't seem like there are a ton of options available for HDDs anymore. WD isn't great at these larger capacities unless you pay more. Lol Segate. Is Toshiba still decent? They were decent last I heard. Alternatively, I could just set up a NAS or something and move the current drive somewhere else. I dunno, what's everyone's solution for larger amounts of data. Currently sitting at just under 2TB worth of stuff.

lmao, you're like a baby.

I have a 16TB, and two 22TBs in my desktop within 6 feet of my bed seeding torrents 24/7.

And they're enterprise drives (Exos/IronWolf Pro/MG10) so they're even louder than regular consumer drives.

It's only when reading really. Even when it's writing it's not terrible. It's fine when idling. My 2TB Blue is nice and quiet but I hear the heads on the 4TB one. I guess it isn't a big deal, I'm just not used to it. It's only for my media really anyway so it's not a huge deal. My emulators and rims/ISOs are on the 2tb drive still. Native games get installed to one of my 3 NVME drives.

First time I had expensive hardware fail on me like that desu, not sure if its the chineasium mobo with a soldered on laptop cpu that killed it or it was defective in the first place.

Probably would have shat my pants if that happened to a 5070ti that costs 2x here.

I did everything apart from taking a shit in the case or inserting something else in to the pci slot.
The card enters safe mode on power on with fans ramping up to max with no hdmi signal and loonix (yes im using linux) does not seem to detect the card.
Contemplating on buying some cheap pci device to test the socket to fully make sure that its not the mobo that shat the bed

What's it like to be a 14900k owner?

I have a second-hand celeron g6900 gathering dust in my i9's box so that I could theoretically bring my pc back from the dead in the form of a shambling zombie if/when my 14900k fries itself. $60 is a small price to pay for the peace of mind of not losing access to most of my online accounts and local data over intel's incompetence.

And I guess I could at least play private server wow or bloons tower defense or dungeon crawl stone soup webtiles, even on this thing. Most importantly I'll be able to easily access my finances and order something online. Could do it on a phone if absolutely necessary but it's a nightmare to do anything on this tiny little touchscreen and I don't know how normalfags even begin to cope with it.

64GB is overkill so you shouldn't worry about not getting that. It might be useful in the future but by then probably even better and faster ram will appear.

I will play Space Marine 2 on max details and see how Baldur's Gate 3 and Cyberpunk look at max settings. After that I'll be going through my backlog. Plenty of new games wouldn't work on my GTX 970 but many did work on medium/low so I would like to see how they look. I also hope I live long enough to see that Expanse game but I doubt it.
