I have always on resource, network and FPS display, because even though everything might seem to be working fine, there might be something going on in the background.
Something might be hogging resources, be it network, CPU, GPU, etc. Be it accidental, malicious or just unnecessary. With a fast PC it might be hard to even notice, but it's still uselessly wasting power / heating your room, slowing your internet or loosing out on FPS.

It's just badly designed since the connector relies on passive current balancing where in-spec resistances are 0.005Ohms to 0.006Ohms at the terminals and any small fluctuation in resistances across it's 6 contacts can overload the contacts and cause overheating and melting.

On Nvidia with games that support DX11 and DX12 (lots of later UE4 slop, just have to use -dx12 or -d3d12) I get better results with DX12, with DXVK not improving on DX11 (but does improve frame times on DX9 and DX10 a lot).

This is what I found when I was building a cart in a Polish store, but I probably will replace some things once I actually am ready to pull the trigger. RAM prices + a 5090 + a second SSD + Poland probably being jewed on the prices is what I suspect bumped it up so much. VR ready + top specs + should last a good few years + workstation as well (probably will several VMs running at once).

I can do some tax deduction shit to get about 25% off the entire thing but yeah, if there's a way to lower the price without compromising quality then I would like to do it.

I have the 9800X3D, my brother has a 9700X.

Our GPUs are also pretty similar (RTX 4070Ti and RTX 5070).

they're GENERALLY pretty equal at 1440p. There are a few games where his 50 series GPU with 3x and 4x framegen can solidly beat my 4070Ti with only 2x framegen, but it's rare.

I just built my upgraded PC before Christmas.

Is undervolting recommended for this CPU? I previously had a 5900X that was VERY unstable on Auto and caused a lot of issues (black screens, freezing, lockup all on idle and under load).
Currently running the 9800X3D on Auto settings with EXPO enabled.
I haven't had any issues so far, but I don't want to experience another set of headaches with a new CPU.
