Got mine
It's hard to justify the jump from 5070ti to 5080 vs price increase. It's like either you get the 5070ti or you forget about budgeting and get the 5090
sisters…
>>107724119just a bad rumor, the bubble will pop in two weeks
>>107724116I went with 5070ti specifically to avoid housefires for 10% more performance at 20% higher power draw. Price difference between mid tier 5080 and MSI or ASUS 5070ti is negligible.
>>107724116>>107724158both those gpus suck they have massive QC issues and software problems with drivers
$1650 with no tax, yea or nay? For gaming at 1440p/ultra. I don’t think i could build this cheaper.
>>107724226Its really good. Go for it
>>107724226geddit
>>107724226>9070XT Wouldn't even take that housefire generator for free, desu.
>>107724116The 5070 Ti is more of a 5080 Lite than a 5070 Ti.

>>107724226i have basically this set-up with a 7600x and a 1 tb driveit's cost me a little under 1400 to build since i startedlast time you're gonna see prices this good, i would jump on it
>>107724195Yes but I'm still not buying AMD and 4080 is impossible to find here

>>107724226component bundles from retailers even here have been cheaper than buying things separateshit there was even a whole 9800x3d build for the cost of a 5090 that included a 5090 that got buyed up quick before I even had time to check it would unironically have buyed tooit was close to me too but over before I chekd
I think this amazon advertising might be slightly misleading.
well bros, i went and bought the 9070 xtmy credit card won't be happy, but i'm getting a full time job this year anyway. plus i won't get interest on that purchase for 6 months
>>107724341what nigga? some folks put anime figs in their buildssome of us put anvils in ours
Fuck Nvidia but i dont have a fucking choice anymore
>>107724354mine gets here on friday :>
I need a 240Hz monitor with very low minimum brightness and low input lag for purposes of being a good fit for my drawing tablet.
I've got 48GB RAM that I want me to last until hopefully ~2030.
>>107724226How much is it after tax? This looks basically perfect for most people. I'm surprised iBuyPower shot straight for once as opposed to throwing.
>>107724116OC'd 5070 Ti can be roughly equal to a stock 5080. The OC headroom is pretty decent unlike with the 9070 XT that comes almost maxed from factory. Get an ASUS model or something else decent and you're set. Or it should be according to my research, I just ordered mine, take with a grain of salt.Of course if you buy above MSRP the value goes down the shitter. 5080 is just bad value in comparison even at MSRP.>>107724158>Price difference between mid tier 5080 and MSI or ASUS 5070ti is negligible. The cheapest 5080 goes for $1200 USD, meanwhile you still can get the 5070 Ti for $750-810. I don't think we have the same definition of negligible.
>>107724403There is no tax, $1650 out the door. I just bought it.
>>107724423based
>>107724226>9800X3D $450>9070 XT $650>SSD $230>random mobo $150Those components alone are $1480 without even factoring in RAM. Seems good from that standpoint.
>>107724420Damn I bought a 9070xtWhy everyday is there more and more info that makes me heavily regret my purchase of this thing.
>>107724436>9070 XT $650whatwhere
What pre built should I get, I've been browsing for awhile and with the price jumps going on I'm think of finally picking something up. I've checked some sites like new egg and I'm not too sure what them, I'll probably avoid them. Mostly gaming a small handful of modern games, the new RoboCop at max settings would be the jumping off point
Watch this, when im gonna buy RTX 5070 ti 16gb tomorrow, next week the fat fuck Jensen Huang gonna announce RTX 6070 ti 32gb with same price
>>107724466>with same price
>>107724277cannot larp business with TKL
>>107724437I would buy that if I didn't care about CUDA and only cared about games, you save $50-150 and just werks. I also hear AMD has better Linux support in general and you will want to migrate there if you haven't yet. Some say the power consumption of the AMD GPUs is bad and there is almost no room for OC unlike with the 5070Ti though. You can get 9070XT without the 12VHP connector unlike with NVIDIA so that can be a plus if you're concerned about it.>>107724455Amazon had the ASUS Prime OC for sale still last night when I saw. But most models are now at $700 or above indeed.
>>107724466CES is next week and Nvidia don't give a shit manthey're going to take a shitton of Blackwell racks and maybe start hyping up Rubin Nvidia just >bought Groq (not Grok), their main concern is killing any company hoping to make their own AI ASICsAs for Geforce, well they are trying to buy the same AI shit so they can train DLSS 5 There will be no 6090 until DLSS 5 is ready
>>107724420In EU it's 1000 euro for 5080 or 850-900 for 5070ti. Shit tier pny does for 760 ish.
is 5060ti 16gb a massive upgrade over GTX 1080 ? 128bit memory bus is what turned me off

>>107724570>that he had to pay for
>>107724064>PNYPoorfag
>>107724513non TI, yes.if it's TI, ehhh it's like a 3060 vs a 5060 TI (like 1.5x better, but it's probably 2-3x more FPS because you got the ancient GPU debuff on new games).I would egg you to buy the framework 32gb AMD AI max 385 for $800 (it did not get a price increase).BUT... the 8050s it's 30% worse than the 5060 TI 16gb. But it's worth it if you have a shit CPU that needs an upgrade (BUT not worth it if you have money for a 5070 or 9070). And I think the amd AI max is cooler if it was in a handheld or laptop (but the price is starting like $2000).But soldered ram, no FSR 4, shitty pcie port (if you plug a GPU into it, you could add a GPU, but it)And the $800 price does not include a PSU, case, nvme, and 120mm fan.But it's 100 watts which is neat so it's probably one of the most quiet PCs out there, and 32gb of fast quad channel ram is good (a 9800x3d is better though).
>>107724423Hell yeah, I'm very jealous right now.
>>107724526>closest micro center to me is a 3 hour drivefuck
>>107724116I bought the 5080 before the 5070 ti released so that's my excuse
>>107724608Mines 50 minutes but I have to drive through the worst parts of Denver on my wayI'd rather give Amazon my money and not get shanked
>>107724608I'm pretty lucky, it's ~12-15 minutes for me.Though I still ended up buying this 5070 last night instead.
>>107724604>but it)But the PCIE port needs a sketchy adapter since it's 8x and does not have a cut out edge on it.I dont know how you would put the GPU into the case if you used an adapter, maybe it's really cheap and simple, I have not looked into it.also forgot the link:https://frame.work/products/framework-desktop-mainboard-amd-ryzen-ai-max-300-series?v=FRAFMK0002
>>107724633to be fair mine's 2 hoursand you knowa 1 hour border queue and a border hopbut still, i'd be spending what i save on gas and stopping at in n out
>>107724568This but with the xx60
>>107724647>8x*4xit's still good enough for a 4090/5090 if you look at occulink / m.2 egpu setups. the 16x lanes is important if you had like an AI training server and you had a ConnectX 80GB fiber optic cable or something and you wanted to load AI models faster than a nvme SSD.
>3,5 5070 Ti's or ONE (1) singular 509056gb vram vs 32gb vram
>>107724640>5070Roughly same performance as the 3090 but with half the memory and 2/3 the bandwidth. Not bad if you're happy with it. The 9070XT is still a nobrainer for gaming at that price though (just $60 more).
>>107724608better than a $1000 flight
>>107724693DLSS is going to be more relevant than ever going forward, and I personally swore off AMD after bad experiences with their drivers in the back in the 4000-7000 series timeframe. Also I enjoy ray tracing in a few games (cyberpunk/GTAO).
>>107724693God just imagine if the gtx 970 was on par with a 2 gens old flagship gtx 480, it would be a tragedy, now that's just normal.Buy one gpu every 10 years.
Would you recommend a 9060 XT coming from a 3060?
How big of a problem is it to have two GPUs in one case with no space between them? Kinda worried about putting my 5090 in the top spot and can't find a good riser solution
>>107724775Yes but only if 16GB
>>107724604non TI is like 8gb
>>107724755>Buy one gpu every 10 years.you think the new connector not gonna FRY before that..
I currently have a 3070, with all the news about the new cards being terrible. Should I pull the trigger and get a 5070 Ti? or just wait for the 60 series and see how that goes
>>107724715But I thought AMD finally attained feature parity with Redstone and had less issues than RTX 5000 series?
>>107724715Not anon, but I am a terminal waitfag that won't buy new hardware until my shit stops working or I find a amazing GPU like a 3080 for less than $100 on facebook marketplace. But I switched from leaning nvidia to AMD because I always thought that Nvidia is better on both windows and linux, but it turns out that nvidia is lacking on linux VR, and it seems like there is attention being made for gamer extensions / features on linux (mostly the bare minimum for server GPU stuff), both AMD and Nvidia neglect linux, you won't see Adrenalin or full NVCP on linux, but I see more progress on amd honestly, I don't see a good future for linux on nvidia.I ain't buying VR yet, my 1660 ti can't handle it. But I am leaning towards linux (former win 7 refugee till 2019, used linux mint for a year or 2, then back to windows 11 because firefox was more buggier than win7) and I have not updated windows 11 for like 2 years (it's very comfy as it is), but if windows somehow forces an update / I need to reinstall, I might switch back to linux. It's actually crazy, after a decade I have never seen AMD do anything better than nvidia except maybe undercutting nvidia by 10-20%, but linux VR? that's the first time I've actually seen amd not being absolutely worthless.
>>107724800amazing how nvidia became the highest market cap corporation on earth and the result was worse products than when they were an irrelevant midcap tech company.capitalism is a liehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn02Me-ytCM
>>107724466Relax. There won't be any new consumer gpu till Q2 or Q3 2026. They are too occupied with supplying gpus to GAY I DATACENTERS
>>107724816>ayymd does not have a full bandwidth true dp2.1brutal
>>107724800>or just wait for the 60 series and see how that goesIf you can wait 2 more years. They still can't get the Super refresh out the door if ever. And if the current situation continues or worsens by late 2028/early 2029 when the next generation comes out then I'd expect much higher MSRP and scalped prices than today.I pulled the trigger since if I will buy it anyway by then next year the prices will be at least $100 more and for the shittiest model. If you're happy with what you got I would wait, but what I have is a 3060 and I'm not happy with it.
>>107724568Get a used rtx 3060 12 gig at that point. 5050 is literally 8 gig gddr6. Starting from 5060 it is gddr7.
i've had a RTX 2080S for a long time nowcan I HODL or is it time to panic upgrade?
>>107724816AMD is always a step behind, since they started later. Redstone still isn't as good as DLSS4 and is fully utilized in a singular game. If you want features AMD isn't for you. NVIDIA driver started shaky but is mostly fixed. While AMD stabilized somewhat making them pretty equal at this point.
>>107724775I think you'll notice the pretty big downgrade in quality of life going from Nvidia to AMD's drivers and software.
>>107724920Nvidia is always a step behind, since they started later. New Driver Branch still isn't as good as RADV or AMDs Windows Driver and Nvidia isnt fully utilized in a singular game. If you want a working GPU Nvidia isn't for you. NVIDIA driver started shaky but is still not fixed. While AMD stabilized somewhat making them pretty equal at this point.

Stop recommending broken as fuck RTX gpus.
>>107724938I dont get why they are still so afraid of DP 2.1a. I thought they fixed the cable length issues?
>>107724921How so? Sorry, I'm a techlet, I just want to play videogayms...
>>107724949>if it isn't supported on Linux it's broken!FOSS life
>>107724921I don't know I just went from a 2080 super to a 9070xt. The little settings preloading thing isn't there and the AMD version of Nvidia broadcast isn't as nice, but that's about it. I do primarily use Linux, and only use Windows for the games that require it though. AMD support is miles ahead of Nvidia on Linux, if you're willing to take the penguin pill. I assume you're talking Windows drivers though.>>107724904It's a big upgrade if you're running higher resolutions, but I don't think it's 100% necessary.
