As for what is the best DDR3 supported platform it's murky.....There's one rare Maxsun LGA 1151 V2 H310 motherboard that is really just a H110 motherboard that accepts 8th and 9th gen CPU's and this motherboard has DDR3 support. If you don't count that then LGA 1151 V1 is the best. So 6th or 7th gen intel. Oh and also LGA 1150 if you can get the i7 5775C since some times that thing outperforms 6th or 7th gen intel since it has L4 cache which was kind of intel's version of X3D back in 2015.
