Is there a specific benchmark to test if everything's working properly? I recently cleaned my PC in and out, but in a moment of idiocy my CPU got damaged (part of the corner looks "wet" and 4 pins fell off), and technically everything SEEMS to be working properly (besides two of my RAM cards not being detected) but I want to be sure about the actual performance damage.

I'm interested in building/buying a HTPC. I've got some limited building knowledge from knocking together a couple of full tower PCs in the past, but I've never dabbled in smaller form factors like micro/mini. Essentially I just don't have access to a computer room/office like I used to, so the living room is all I've got for vidya.
