Neutral third party here who occasionally looks at this thread here is my observation
Nvidia Owners ITT
>Greatly outnumber radeon owners
>Constantly shitpost about amd cards and disrespect anyone who owns them calling them retards etc

Overall mods should just delete this general. It's as bad as the smartphone general at this point. Just shilling and brand wars not actually helping anyone build a pc.

Horizon: Forbidden West was reported to force a sharpening filter on any type of upscaler, including XeSS and FSR.
This was noted to be a problem on PlayStation consoles (with Radeon GPU) as well.
Maybe cite people who don't play poorly coded titles.

There's literally ONE Radeon shill who will constantly call Nvidia shit and shit on Nvidia users who don't even use ad hominem against him.
That's literally it.

This is one thread I've noticed that started with Nvidia shilling but that makes sense because DLSS 4.5 hype.
Otherwise it's almost always that Radeon shill randomly starting shilling AMD and shitting on Nvidia, usually 9070 XT vs 5070 Ti.
>>
>>107790360
this is 4chan, we can't "stop" him, just don't heed the op. let it act as a filter for newfags who are too stupid to realize it's blatant shilling so they fuck off and buy an all amd garbage rig instead of bombarding us with their low iq questions. I consider this an absolute win either way.
>>
>>107790339
I don't need to watch his video to know that Preset M & L are too demanding for RTX 20 & 30 series cards.
Those card owners still have Transformer G1 Preset K to use; it's still better than FSR4.
They still have the best upscaler that no equivalent Radeon card has official access to.

The 5060ti is a good card and I’m tired of tards acting like it isn’t
Fact: it’s excellent for 1080p gaming performance
Fact: it’s very capable at 1440p for many titles
Fact: it’s efficient with good thermals
Fact: it’s comparable performance to past “high-end” cards like the RTX 3070/4070 in many games
Fact: it’s much more affordable for poorfags and normies
Fact: it has a lower power draw (lower electricity costs)
Fact: bigger performance-per-dollar
Fact: you DON’T need more that 16gb vram if you’re gayming
Fact: most gaymers are normies
A 5060 Ti will satisfy most gaymers, especially if their goal is smooth, high-quality performance without paying top-tier pricing

It's not random shilling or shitposting. The Nico troon couldn't afford to buy a 5070 Ti and had to settle for a 9070 XT. That's the troon's own word.

AMD doesn't put much effort into laptop iGPUs because not enough people buy laptops with their processors.
You know AMD doesn't give a shit about laptops if they're feeding 6nm RDNA3.x trash to their customers.
It's okay to call RDNA3 trash, considering AMD themselves abandoned new feature support for these abortions of a GPU.

Assuming you aren't that troll that wants people to pay 700+ for a 9070 XT (you are). There is no downclocked 9070 XT's according to AMD's own spec sheets. The cheaper models run the reference clocks. The expensive models are slightly overclocked for 3% more performance at most and you can get more than that just manually tuning even the shittiest 2 slot reaper model yourself.

if you can find a GPU that has three fans and fits your case it will probably be quieter to run day to day, look for one that has a zero-noise profile (e.g., 0 RPM fan speeds at low temperature). I just saw the new "SUVs" from Toyota—what a disaster! These low-test, FWD cuck-boxes are everywhere, and frankly, they’re embarrassing. I call them "Tired Toyotas." They used to build things, now they just borrow. Very weak! They can’t even build a proper car anymore without begging BMW or Subaru for help. "Please, Mr. BMW, give us an engine!" "Please, Mazda, show us how to make a frame!" It’s pathetic. A total surrender of American (and even Japanese) greatness. And don’t even get me started on these "Turbo" engines. Small! They’re tiny, folks. They take a little i4 or a very shaky V6, they slap a turbo on it, and they say, "Sir, it’s just as good as a V8." WRONG! I’ve seen the reports—the "Twin-Turbo V6" in the Tundra is a total failure. Debris everywhere. The bearings are melting, it’s a disaster. They’re "grenading" all over our beautiful highways. It’s a Fake Reliability scam! The drivers? Very low energy. They sit in their little RAV4s, looking very sad, while the engine makes a tiny whistling sound—SAD! We need Big Blocks. We need Power. And then you have these "Whiteoids"—their word, not mine, very nasty—saying we can't build things here. They say American workers aren't smart enough or fast enough. EXCUSE ME? We built the Empire State Building in eleven months. We built the greatest economy in the history of the world. You think we can't put a little piece of silicon on a green board? We have the best engineers. We have the best sand—as I said, Florida sand, very high quality, much better than their sand! If we made the chips here, the price wouldn't be $8,000. It would be lower than ever! We’d have so much RAM you wouldn't know what to do with it. You’d have 128GB just to open a Chrome tab! The Cartel is terrified because they know I’m going to tax their chips until they move their factories to Ohio. We’re going to have American RAM, American GPUs, and we’re going to do it without the "help" of people who want to see us fail. Total Victory! High Speed. Low Latency. ill respond to the trumpgpt post because it's funny
>They say American workers aren't smart enough or fast enough.
The problem is the entitlement, whiteoids want first-world wages but expect everything to be priced like slaves made them, which is the current status quo.
Can't offload making computers to brown people either because they aren't mentally proficient enough to do the work.
So you either get gooks who are proficient enough and also content to be slave labor
whites who are proficient enough but expect to be treated like gods by their employer in terms of pay, liabilities, etc.
and no other options.
yeah im glad we have gooks it's why an rtx 5070 ti cost 750 instead of 6500.

How DOES an Intel chip stay cool if they consume 2x to 3x the amount of power than an AMD chip? My 9800 at full shader compile tilt will hit 80+, depending on the ambient temp can go over 90, that's with a 360 AIO. Shouldn't be anything wrong with my mount because it cools rapidly in 5~6 seconds down to normal operating temps once done. Actually do the chips not suffer any significant stress from heating and cooling that quick?

If an Intel chip is giving off 3x the amount of wattage in heat then how is it even possible for a 420 AIO to tame one? Or is the tall heat spreader of the 7000/9000 Ryzens just that much of a disadvantage?

Look at this! We have a real “Globalist Thinker” here, folks. Very nasty, very confused. He says we need “slaves” to make our computers—can you believe it? He thinks the only way to get a good price on a GPU is to use what he calls “gooks.” His word, not mine! Very disrespectful to our great friends in South Korea and Taiwan, who—by the way—are doing a lot of business because our past leaders were very weak. He says an RTX 5070 Ti would cost $6,500 if an American touched it. WRONG! This is the same old song from the people who sold out Detroit, sold out Pennsylvania, and sold out our great workers. They say, “Sir, Americans are too expensive, they want to be treated like gods!” Well, maybe they SHOULD be treated like gods! We have the best workers in the world. They have the most stamina. They have the most talent. The reason the price is high isn’t the American worker; it’s the Regulations, it’s the Green New Scam, and it’s the Cartel trying to keep us down! We’re going to use Automation, we’re going to use AI (the good kind, the American kind), and we’re going to use our own Cheap Energy. We’re going to drill, baby, drill, and the electricity to run those Fabs will be so cheap you’ll think it’s a mistake! And this person says other people aren't "mentally proficient"—very nasty. We don't talk like that. We like everybody, but we LOVE Americans first! We’re going to make the 5070 Ti in Ohio. It’s going to cost $500, not $750, and certainly not $6,500. We’re going to have the PC AMERICAN RACE and we’re going to win so much you’re going to get tired of winning. You’ll say, "Mr. President, please, my frame rate is too high! I can't see this fast!" And I’ll say, "Keep it going! More RAM! More Speed!"

i swear to moot that I tried. i went with a chinkshit minisforum BD790i ITX board that had a 7945HX3D laptop chip on it and - while it was working - it was cool running and quiet with excellent performance-per-watt. it was, however, complete shit in the quality department as was the identical replacement.

more surface area to spread out the heat
also it's not 3x the power lol, 7950X is ~230W at stock and 9950X3D is ~200W at stock, based on TPUs numbers

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? They want to banish me to a different board! They say, "Sir, your truth is too powerful for this thread, please go to the 'Auto' board." They call it /o/—I call it /O/ for "Out of Luck," because that’s what you are when your Toyota engine explodes on the I-95! They want to segregate the truth! They don’t want the regular people—the great gamers, the builders, the patriots—to know that their "reliable" SUV is actually a German-engineered time bomb with a Japanese badge. They want to keep the "Cuck-Box" conversation in a little corner where the "Experts" can protect their precious small-engine narrative. Look at the facts—I’ve seen the reports, and they are beautiful for me but terrible for Toyota. Over 100,000 Tundras and Lexus SUVs being recalled because they left "debris" inside. Can you imagine? They can't even clean their own engines! It’s called "Swarf," a very nasty word for a very nasty problem. They have to replace the whole engine, folks. A total heart transplant because the first one was defective from day one! And they tell me to go to /o/? I’m not going anywhere! We’re going to talk about the PC American Race AND the American V8 right here. We’re going to have 128GB of RAM and 500 horsepower, and we’re going to do it without asking for permission from a moderator or a German car company! We don't need "Boards." We need RESULTS. We’re making the Internet—and the Highways—Great Again! #NotMoving #V8Truth #SwarfScam

these are always the best AMD deals, the stuff that is too defective to be sold so they rebrand it and sell it way cheaper, those are going to be interesting products to buy, remember that the 5700x3d was far cheaper than the 5800x3d because it was a 5800x3d that couldn't bin to the 4.4ghz

>Actually do the chips not suffer any significant stress
your 9800 will hit a peak and then automagically thermal throttle for self-preservation. the better your cooling, the longer they will run near that peak. i would wager that a high number of non-Asrock fried amd CPUs come from folks who override the thermal limits to overclock and don't do any monitoring of voltages and temps. IDK what the fuck is going on with the Asrocks. the intel chips are just plain old less efficient and engineered (historically sometimes with FAIL) to withstand the heat.

>come from folks who override the thermal limits to overclock
you can't override the thermal limit when using PBO
actually seems to be a very common theme in /pcbg/ that people completely misunderstand how PBO works, almost as if most people are just making shit up instead of speaking from first hand experience
>>
>>107791511

yes you can. you can set the tjmax in the bios. my old board even had an offset for it.

depends on the board, does it not?
>>
>>107791530

you can lower it, but you can't increase it
applies on both AM4 and AM5
try it yourself

>>
>>107791538
my 7800x3d has a tjmax limit of 89°C and i can increase it to 95°C. yeah i can't fully disable it but they made it 89°C for a reason.

>>
>>107791550
have you tried if the option actually works or is your board vendor just lazy and using the same menu for all CPUs? 95 C is the limit for the platform as a whole, so i guess that's plausible

I don't mean overheating I meant the thermal stress of heating and cooling 25-35 degrees within a few seconds. Shader compilation doesn't happen that often but it is not like it is irregular these days, especially whenever a driver update causes it to want to compile again.

>>107791740

Yeah DLSS 4.5 is retarded

The whole point of DLSS is getting better fps because modern gpus can't keep up with modern games
