Stop trolling and lying. You constantly post fake flame war instigating images in the OP. OP has been ruining SPG for months by hijacking it and constantly posting fake misinformation. Every spg OP image is a fake nitpicked image trying to start arguments. Literally breaks the rule of not instigating flamewars for months without any intervention. You are just lying and making things up and ruining the thread.

Was the poco x3 pro the last truly based phone?
Picked mine up again after like 3 years, plastic back, 3.5mm jack, SD card, massive ROM support.
Updated it to lineage 22 and honestly it feels barely any different than a phone being sold today.
Shame about that soc bga issue, Qualcomms fault funnily enough.

It's so funny all the big "issues" that this thread claims is plaguing iPhones is never mentioned by any of the tremendously foaming at the mouth Android bloggers waiting for the chance to make any attention grabbing post talking about these "issues" because it's FAKE. IT'S NOT HAPPENING TO EVERYONE.

What I did notice was how Versus and Android Authority were the only ones to mention how the OnePlus 15 units they have were failing benchmarking tests due to overheating and throttling issues. After the updates were released by OnePlus AA were the only people that uploaded another video with the OnePlus 15 running the new update showing that it's still was getting beaten by the OnePlus 13.
Flossycarter, mkbhd, techspurt all acted like it never happened. These are fake tech bloggers paid by OnePlus. Even TechNick mentioned the issues with the OnePlus 15. Same applies for people posting in here, they're acting just like the fake tech bloggers. Before any anons get mad I still bought a OnePlus 15 as well and got a iPhone 17 pro max and a red magic 11 pro.

I recommend getting a wireless charger. I don't even really think about charging, I just set my phone down on the charging pad when I'm at my computer. I use "fast wireless charging", which even then is pretty slow. It takes like 2-3 hours to charge it from <15%, but it's just so convenient.

I think phones really only lose charge if you use them with the screen on. Most of the time, I use my phone as a glorified music/podcast player and it lasts forever.
>>
>>107814319
That shit gets the battery hot as fuck
Ruins your battery over time and its a genuine fire hazard
>>
>>107814345
After a couple of experts proved that wireless charging degrades your battery and damages your device from the heat (iFixit) I stopped using all wireless charging devices and actually plug them in to battery packs now like I would when I'm plugging them into the charging brick. Though to be honest I don't even directly plug the charging bricks into the wall either and I always make sure they're going through a anker surge protector.

I got an Iphone 4 laying in my drawer doing nothing.
And also a cowon Z2.

The first is fundamentally useless as a phone, the second while it's a decent player got bricked with and official update and never quite worked right anymore, the wifi specifically doesn't work.

I'm looking for ideas to repurpose them.
They both have decent screens but quite small, the iphone as a decent enough camera.

Kino! I'm all for anything that makes the poverty stricken in SPG sperg.

First of all the videos are way bigger on the inner screen than on my s25 ultra so the myth about videos being the same size only goes for extremely wide videos which is like less than 1% of those you normally watch. I never drop my phone and if I do it would be closed when doing so. So durability is literally not an issue. Seeing people still rock the fold 2 makes me believe the newer ones will hold up for years easily. If not I have insurance. The inner screen won't get damaged under normal adult use so I don't have any fears. I remember Mrmobile showing clips of a guy who would smack the inside of his folding phone against things without it breaking. So they are more durable than you would believe
>>
>>107825195

Around 9 hours SOT on the inner display with regular use. I'm amazed at how good it is on the fold7. Beats all the other foldables who has 6000mah by far. But this won't be the case if you use shit ton of crappy apps all running in the background like most people do. I'm at 58% with 4 hours SOT and even played some wild rift for 40 minutes at 120hz. Also only charged it to 97%

>run out of space for your numerous kusoges on XCover 6 Pro
>you already cut down on some stuff so you're down to games you don't really want to remove because reading/playing them in comfy bed beats doing it on PC + you often play them during breaks and downtime at work
I guess it's time to buy new phone. And here I thought I was buying phone to last me for decade or more with just replacing battery when old one shits itself, not 3-4 years. Makes me wonder if it's even worth spending a lot on phone over getting something half or less the price with expectation of changing it in 3-5 years.

Seeing how most games now reach like 10-15GB, and big ones like 30-50GB, if not more, 128GB internal space is no longer enough, especially that no one seems to be making phones capable of moving/installing apps onto SD card. I know it runs slower, but smaller games would still work fine.
After searching for past 2 days I see that I can forget about getting phone with good specs with removable battery. I bet even EU passing battery law won't change shit because it mentions replacing it with commercially available tools, and heat guns etc are easily available. Most phones with removable battery are either low specs or armored bricks weighting a ton, and after moving from Oukitel brick to XCover I was amazed how much less hand tire there is in comparison after holding phone in the air for like 2 hours when reading.
Initially I looked for either 1TB storage cardless or 512GB + card, as right now I have everything set to save on card and it's like 50GB, not counting anime seasons if I'd like to watch in travel, so with how games grow in size I think 256GB will not be enough in like 2-4 years, especially if I decide to come back to genchink and do quick dailies on phone as well. Turns out it's hard to find 512GB + card that doesn't cost fortune like Sony phones.
Only if I compromise down to 512 cardless I can find bunch of options to choose from. And some of them are China only.

killing jack and removable battery made it slimmer
>>
>>107827814
correct, I merely posted why there are no technical limitations.
you obviously include it because phones were supposed to be this all in one versatile tool, so you only have to carry 1 device. but I guess thats no longer true, its just a doomscroll device now

I've done some research and with prioritizing
>storage, ideal would be 1TB or 512 + card but it seems 512TB without might be necessary compromise
>performance better than Snapdragon 778G in my current phone, SD8 level at least
>battery life, sadly only XCover and Fairphone have replaceable battery, besides that there are heavy bricks that have too shitty specs for games
>price up to around 500€ with 750€ being pushing it if phone will last for actual decade or something which I doubt about with OLEDs and batteries which aren't as easily removable/cost to remove
so far I've found:
>XCover 7 Pro - would be great but it's just 256GB (at least has card slot) and SD 7s gen3 seems like too little performance jump
>Fairphone 6 - basically more expensive XCover 7 Pro with less durability
>POCO F6 Pro - 1TB storage with SD 8 gen2 at nice price through outlet but not as resistant and USB-C 2.0
>POCO X7 Pro / F7 Pro - 512 GB, Dimensity 8400 ultra or SD 8 gen3 with bigger battery and resistance than F6, found F7 on sale cheaper than F6
>POCO F8 Pro - best processor with SD 8 Elite, 512 GB, same price as 1TB F6, sadly still USB-C 2.0 instead of 3.2 like ultra version
>Infinix GT 30 Pro - 512GB with Dimensity 8350 Ultimate and bunch of gaming stuff at similar price as POCO F8, though I don't know shit about Infinix phones and it has USB 2.0
>iQOO 13/15 - looks like best specs with 1TB and SD 8 Elite, but I'd need to import them from China which raises question about system on board or what can I do with it and price is really pushing it as it's around 750€
>Xiaomi 14/15 - also best specs with 1TB available and SD 8 Elite or high-end Dimensity, but they are also pushing my price bracket and question whether these 512GB storage is worth 250€ compared to POCO F8
Any recommendations? Any experiences with those phones or importing chinese phones to Europe and maybe replacing their system?
>>
>>107827199
>>107827921
that new EU law isnt gonna do shit because its not required if you make the phone water resistant. the only option with an easy battery swap, including having an official battery for purchase for a long time is the Fairphone
>>
>>107827994
The waterproof phone = no replacement battery has another requirement, which is retaining 80% charge after 3 years of extreme usage.
So far none of the phones are capable to do that.
>>
>>107809419
Japs love minimalistic expensive shit so macbook and iPhone do really well there
>>
>>107827921
Also for more context prices:
>X6 Pro 512GB ~230€
>X7 Pro 512GB ~300€
>F7 Pro 512GB ~430€
>XCover 256GB + card and removable battery ~440€
>GT 30 Pro 512GB ~480€
>F6 Pro 1TB ~500€
>F8 Pro 512GB ~560€
>iQOO 13 / 15 / Xiaomi 15T - 750-830€, possible more because those iQOOs aren't available and would need to be imported from China so it's possibly without tax.
As you can see, price variance is quite a lot so I'm not even sure if it's worth going for those high-end phones with cheaper ones not being that much far behind while being half the price. If those high-end ones had removable battery and SD card slot then sure, but without it and just 512GB I'm not sure if it's even worth paying this much just for power when this excess power is just in case I'd like to go back to launching Genchink or WuWa on phone, which I doubt because those games play better on PC or with controller, or some new game I like releases. So I'm leaning towards either Infinix or some POCO, or another newer XCover just for the sake of battery and card slot. I wish Fairphones had better specs and were slightly cheaper but I guess Europe can't compete anymore.

>>107827994
As I've said, I tend to care about my stuff. I've never spilled anything on phone or something. I just need it to survive potential drop into puddle or being kept in wet pocket during heavy rain. XCover has easily removable backplate with no glue and just uses rubber seal around battery. That's enough. I see no reason to take a phone to fucking pool or sea for a swim. I value being able to just buy battery and replace it easily at home, or have a spare for longer travel for quick swap, more than ultimate resistance for conditions phone is unlikely to be in. Though it's more about keeping device alive after battery dies than quickswapping because powerbanks exist, they are just more time consuming when it comes to charging and take more space than spare battery, but that isn't that big issue.

pixel 9 pro fold or pixel 10 base? I know pixel 10 has a bigger battery but if I installed grapheneos would it help with it at all? only reason I want a fold is for gaming other than that the 10 is nice with the snap magnetic case unless the 9 does that just as well
>>

Which is why I'm unsure about importing phones. Does this also include Xiaomi sub-brands like POCO?
I guess Redmagic series also have 512GB - 1TB phones with some extras for gaming, but they are also pushing my pricing limits. And I guess Nord 5 also fits that list since it's around X7/F7 level in both price and specs.
I guess there is no easy answer and I'll have to make table with all the features I'm interested in, try to look up performance and batery drain differences between processors, prices and simply count which option has most "points".
I wish there was full list with all the processors with their battery drain, heating and performance stats, that would make it so much easier because all that would be left to check would be shit like bypass charging, infrared, USB and UFS standards etc.

What's the deal with people on here bitching custom Roms and banking apps?
Its 3-4 root modules to install and you never have to deal with that shit again.
PIF, shamiko, zygisk next, tricky store.
You faggots really sit through ads and shit because of this?

I love my S24 Ultra. I hate to say it, but I do. I always wonder what my life would have been like if I went with a Sony I. I will wait for Graphene to announce their new OEM before even comsidering a new phone, and I will probably not buy the first version that GOS works on and let them improve it.
