There used to be 15-20 more letters in cyrillic than there are now. I see a lot of people with smaller screens using Firefox with the normal tab size... It ain't much, but if you enable browser.compactmode.show in about:config, you can squeeze in a few extra pixels of content on your browser. Right click the toolbar and press "Customize toolbar". On the bottom you'll see density. Click it and select compact. Also, if you can see the title bar option on the left, uncheck it (if you'd like.).
