Apparently mineral oil is not inert enough, can seep into with components and make them swell or react with them.

Raytracing doesn't even look better than well pre-baked lighting. It just lowers the bar for more jeets and vibecoding broccoli hairs to make shitty unoptimized games that look and play like shit.
In fact raytracing often looks retarded due to not being able to completely compensate for devs doing nothing and expecting it to do everything for them. Like perfect mirror reflections off of wet concrete or everything just looking more dark for some reason.
Man raytracing was a mistake.

probably, worst thing that happens is they hold onto my 500 dollars for two weeks and I send back whatever they send me

best thing is that they send me a desktop with a 5070ti
>>
Seeing that the 5080 Noctua edition was selling for $1299, I went ahead and bought one for myself. Then last night I picked up an Asus Tuf 5070 TI 16GB to have since I heard that there may be price increases. I paid $829 for it, and the store had more than 25 available. Today I checked, and they said they are out of them and only have 3 or 4 of the PNY models left. I did a quick search online, and the 5080 is still selling for around $1399, but the 5070 TIs are selling for around $1100. I cannot believe that they are so high when the 5080s haven't gone up.

That and I heard the 5080 Noctua is heavier than every card that isn't a 5090 and definitely requires an anti sag prop or bracket

Recently built a 5070 Ti +9800x3d, now I need to upgrade my monitor.
Leaning towards the monitor in pic related, but I'm also open to 1440p 300hz IPS.

I do a wide variety of things on my monitor: internet browsing, youtube, single player games, overwatch, LoL, shooters, etc.

Basically, is 4k 160hz better than 1440p 300hz?

>Basically, is 4k 160hz better than 1440p 300hz?
4k is better than 1440p. Better as in you can see the difference, but you cannot see the difference between a 240hz screen and a 300hz screen. 240hz is enough, going more than it would be stupidity.
>>
>>107898211
I'll take any opnion, schizo or sane.

>>107898227
I plan to keep this monitor for 5-6 years along with the PC which means burn in is inevitable.
OLED looks great but that Alienware monitor is $700 which is almost as much as my GPU lmao
Maybe I just get a $500 mini led as a middle ground?

Also, once you learn more about the ones you want, keep price alert on best buy, Costco, and woot

This retard have never used OLED in his life.
IMO, once you try OLED you don't want to go back. It is worth paying premium for a good OLED monitor.
>>
>>107898343
Also iirc you want glossy on OLED bc matte finish on OLED gets it way too fuzzy and affects the contrast in rooms that are lit / lights on
>>
>>107898310
>I have spent all of my money on a PC and am too poor for a good 4k oled monitor and a TV
Weird flex but OK
>>
>>107898343
i have an OLED tv and it looks great. My IPS looks fine too though, and I don't have to worry about burn-in from the many static elements i always have on my screens. I've been enjoying my ips for 6 years and it's identical to the day i got it and ill probably get another 10 years out of it.

Ultimately, OLED novelty wears off eventually and all you end up with is less money in your wallet and a monitor that requires more care and has a lower lifespan than an ips. I don't really watch things on my computer though, i do things with it so ymmv. If watching shit is a big use case for your pc monitor, maybe oled is worth the scratch.

every day I dream of the 5850X3D using 7800X3D TSMC 5NM 5GHz CCD with ZEN 3 GLOBAL FOUNDRIES 12NM IOD, it can't come soon enough, this one is already great, now ofc if you ask me if I would want a custom 7800X3D with 3D-VCACHE layer under the cores layers + a revamped IOD in a more advanced therefore more performant lithography, I can't say no to that, but I find hard to believe AMD will be doing this much R&D for an AM4 product launch in 2026.

>>107898141
it's called having finished high school, kid
>>
>there's 3 options for the new X3D chips on am4 and 100% one of the will happen:
1) 70% chance they restart 5800X3D, which is a bad strategy because people on 5700X3D and 5800X3D have no reason to upgrade.
2) 20% chance of zen 4 cpu with zen 3 iod frankenstein, because the R&D is just figuring how to how pin that zen 4 cpu on the AM4 socket.
3) 10% chance of an entire new product that would be even better but cost far more to research and produce, this option would only make sense if AMD thinks the RAM shortages would last so long that investing heavily on AM4 would make sense.

>R5 3600 (non-X version) - 40 euro
>6700XT FE - 240 euro
>2x8 ddr4 3200 CL16 - Honestly no clue, secondhand prices seem to vary , probably somewhere between 70-100?
Or am I over/undervalueing something here?

Why does no one talk about this monitor? Seems like insane value.
>>
Is it even worth buying a PC with the RAM prices as they are?

I was looking into a GTX 5070 build with AMD Ryzen 7800X3D. 20% of the price is the RAM alone if I go for a 32GB kit. SSD storage prices are also going through the roof. If I remove those from my build the price becomes bearable.

Only reason I've been looking into this is cause of all the talk of shortages and Nvidia discontinuing their gaming GPUs. Though I've been waiting it out for decades now, it would probably be stupid to bite the bullet when the prices are worst they've ever been.

it's just funny to me because my raptor lake "housefire" stays at the all-core max in cinebench, still a bit under 253 watts, yet still doesn't get hotter than 76c. Who is really the housefire if even a relatively moderate load like cinebench brings your clocks down by thermals... now obviously with that power limit i lose some clock speeds to as low as 5.3-5.4ghz running actually intensive tests like linpack or p95, but still. I didn't know Ryzen was brought to its knees that easily.

too bad you have input delay that can make games insufferable. Sub 10 or even 20ms isn't a given yet anywhere. people will just return to consoles or use their phones instead

They had to get their SDK shit from AMD since Graces didnt come out until 2009.

5070ti is a repackaged 4080 super with 4x frame gen and for a cheaper MSRP (749.99) soo yeah congrats I guess

I can't believe I got shilled by fucking niggers in this thread that told me AM5 tax wasn't worth it and Raptor Lake "was such great value" I fucking hate my 14700k this thing is garbage in escape from tarkov. Now it's too late to swap to AM5 and 9800x3d because of ddr5 ram prices. I hope all the intel shills ITT get ebola and shit blood out their asshole until they die

Even if thats fixed i doubt cloud will ever do the same as it did on the server space, mainly because unlike the case of hosting there is nothing stopping the people or playing 20 year+ of modern games or watching movies ,etc on most low end pc's and nothing that is coming out will justify it,at best some people will rent a few months to play some FOMO new release like GTA6 if they realyl are priced out but the gaming space is completely dead, they would need to invent the equivalent of virtual reallity but not gay and without controls and be stupidly expensive to truly get people to rent pcs in the form of virtual reallity pods rather than desktop computers which to be fair may happen in the next 50 years lmao

Getting a 5070ti in this week (got it for MSRP), should I upgrade my PSU? It's currently running a 4070 super just fine.

>New GPU:
MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7

EVGA 850 G5, 80 Plus Gold 850W, Fully Modular, 220-G5-0850-X1

Sounds like a skill issue. I own both AMD and Intel and only the latest AMD X3D can outperform my 14900K. 3D cache simply could not overcome the latency from glued together dies until they finally got the frequencies well up past 5.2Ghz. Now the technology has matured. But at the time you bought, it was not

nah you'll be good. i have a 5070ti and it never goes above 300 watts of power. Very power efficient compared to my old 3080ti. 850w will be fine even with a power hog CPU. undervolting it gives you same performance for less power and heat as well. good choice anon enjoy your new GPU be sure to have some games to test out dlss 4.5 and the new 3x and 4x frame gen

>>
>>107900999
The only games that require top tier hardware are the unoptimized AAA ones and those need a lot of sales to cover the dev cost. I doubt they would make good money with cloud gaming. Before cloud gaming takes off it's more likely that the devs have to adjust to the market situation.

When and how did the 16GB 4060 Ti bcome unobtanium for anything less than $470 used? Been checking for like 2 months now and they are impossible to find here. They barely outperform my 3060 Ti which can be had for $200 (down from $750) now for fucks sake.

Do they still make all-steel tank like cases like the old Antec cases from the mid 00s, or is everything glass/aluminium mesh garbage now?

They are used for local AI, same as the 3060 12gb. dont even look at the 4090 used prices, 3090 also really hold well but now days the fact that the 40 series has fp8 acceleration and most fp8 quants fit on 16gb of vram means the 4060 ti 16gb is unobtainble, at that price point you may as well get a 5060 ti 16gb so you get nfp4 for the even better quants, this is what really sets nvidia apart, if you know what card to buy and know how to sell them they rarely lose value

or Hardwore unboxed once again lied like they did when they claimed rdna4 on it first week outsold blackwell total sales (2 months)

several 5070 TI's SKU's got announced on CES, even asus rog division announced selling GB203 dies on their ROG mini -pc division, sure bigger AIB'S like Asus, Gigabyte and MSI may want to focus on products with better margins like the 5080, 5060 ti over the cheaper 16gb models but the smaller AIB'S that cant compete with them will 100% continue to sell the most popular SKU'S even if they get lower margins to get marketshare

As long as NVIDIA continues to order GB203 GPU production from TSMC, there will be defective dies to make 5070 Tis with.
I doubt workstation demand for NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell is enough to use all those cut-down chips.

if you want 12GB or higher you should have boughted already
it will NEVER be MSRP or lower ever again and the entire series is EOL except for the 5060

tsmc yields are pretty high. id bet that many 5070tis could have been labelled and sold as low-binned 5080s instead but there wasnt even demand previously

You are hearing the news right

Despite Nvidia's lies they are killing all of it

5080, 5070, 5060 Ti all dead

This includes laptops too they are not releasing GPUs or VRAM for new laptops either except 5060 and 5050

Blackwell is finished Nvidia already sold all they needed to anyway they had record breaking sales last year best sales ever in gaming
>>
>>107901239
>sold as low-binned 5080s
There's no segment for it, with around 15% stock performance gap between the existing 5070 Ti and the 5080.
Higher-end 5070 Ti cards are also priced above $800~900 already.

Nvidia have made inferior binned silicon before, e.g. 2080 non-A vs 2080 A-bin. And by bin, I mean voltage-frequency binning, not harvesting ""binning""
>>
>>107901333
>And by bin, I mean voltage-frequency binning,
Not worth their time, NVIDIA has no trouble selling these GPUs.
>>
>>107901350
Already done by tsmc to find defects and program the die specific vf curve
All Nvidia has to do is choose which dies get marked and sold as which SKU
>>
>>107901389
>All Nvidia has to do
They don't have to; these chips are selling just fine, and AIBs are overcharging 5080 GPUs just fine.
>>
>>107901425
5080s are still selling a good $300-500 more than the 5070ti so its still free money for nvidia/aibs
anyway, time will tell whether the 5070ti lives on as a real product or ghost sku
