They were obviously caught and just went "oh it was an accident and they weren't meant to be that price ;)", but they eventually gave discounts to those people to get the same prices or something like that. I wasn't buying from them but still.Let this be a lesson learned when shit like this happens. When prices are rocky, never try to contact about what was ordered, just be patient. >>108045060What a terrible lack of foresight. What if the prices rise 50% more the next month? Will you come to /pcbg/ and make amend for today's brooding? Of course not. Will you reflect on everyone's times and yours that you wasted then? Neither . Admit that you're nothing special, a feather on the waves of rising and crashing hardware price. You don't have control. But it's okay because no one has and that's who you are: no one.You can not optimize this decision, you have no reason to languish over what you have no control, apart for being a fool. Now will you continue to be a fool or take some time to reflect and admit your deal wasn't better than some; but also better than some of us got here and you having the audacity to complain is extremely goofy to them?
>>108045060>>108047459If you can buy the hardware tou want today them buy it. If you can't buy the hardware then you should probably consider not buying any hardware even if the price goes back down to msrp.If you could afford the hardware before the price increases and you can't afford it now that says something about your ability to spend any amount of money on the tech to begin with. This shit is expensive for a reason. Most people are willing to buy these cards because they have the ability to make that money back just using the hardware they buy. You have to remember who exactly your competing with in the "consumer" space when buying a top end gpu. Even a 16gb 5060 ti is marketed as professional hardware now.

Devs know it's going to be a stalemate until 2028. NOTHING will be "obsolete" by this year. You'd really have to corner yourself in a specific way of mind to argue so.
>>108047914Honestly I wish they would keep things a stalemate until technology actually improves in a meaningful way.Devs are just getting so lazy with optimization and shit, and abusing hardware as an excuse not to. And the games don't even look good enough to justify the hardware spike. Games in 2015 like TW3 looked 100x better than half the slop today. There's no reason devs can't make shit that good looking with more modern hardware. Or just revert to using lower hardware requirements if its going to look like shit anyways.I miss the days when hardware increases were actually big. PS1 to PS2. PS2 to PS3. Slowed down with PS3 to PS4. And after that it just kind of stopped looking better but the hardware and price kept rising.

>>108048689It's pure ragebait, because they dont realize that overall dimension is a useless metric compared to Transistor density (MTr/mm2) and SRAM bit-cell size (μm2), modern litography is not about building faster chips on biggger dies but stacking transistors on top of each other to archive faster compute on a smaller die area, you are still paying for 5070s level of density/top tier transistor on your chips just a lot more power efficient and enjoying lower latency as smaller area means more eficiency

I was always a poor fag using cheap full HD monitors, but now I actually can afford something good, altho I have no idea what "good" means in terms of monitors...All I know is that the image gets better with resolution, there is IPS, there is OLED, and there is refresh rate (Hz). OLED looks good, but requires some schizo rituals to make sure it doesn't die in 1 year after purchase.IPS looks like shit, but you can just plug it in and forget about it for the next few years.Budget is 650-1k USD.

>>108050768A Strix 5070TI? Strix? For a 5070TI? Not Prime? Not even TUF? You went STRIX? FOR A 5070 TI
Kinda want to get rid of my second monitor so I can put my pc up on my desk and I rarely ever use the second monitor, but I know the second I do I'm gonna find a need for it
>>108051186have the motherboard vertical so gravity is on your side and use a needle to extract the paste
>>108051235>primeWas my first choice, but I saw the way that components were rising and how there is hub-bub about ti specs not being produced and well, I can afford it so why not get the best TI spec there is?
fuck fuck fuck>>108051222apparently I had too much mx4 the whole time and it made its way down to the socket
I'm based in the UK and the cheapest 2TB NVMe I can get is ~£150Right now my rig has a 1TB NVMe (for OS and vidya) and 4TB HDD(for mass storage)I also have a 1TB SATA SSD laying around doing nothingShould I take the plunge and get the 2TB NVMe or just cope with the SATA drive for now?
>>108051301this should not be an issue. thermal paste is a silicon type grease, and the knife contacts of the socket makes contact regardles, they simply push the grease to a micrometer thick layer which is conductive
>>108051305why do i get the feeling that's a kingston nvme you're looking at...surprised it hasn't gone any higher whatever brand that may be, buy it
>>108051272luckily I had a blue soft fiber toothbrush in my drawer and I think I managed to scrape off enough of it vertically for it to not be a problemI guess PTM for CPU sockets would be pretty convenient right now
>>108051339>KingstonNo, but funnily enough I did order a Kingston NVMe for £100 on Amazon back in JanuaryWaited for two weeks for the delivery and then they cancelled it at the last minute, now it's £230Cheap bastards
>>108051230Anon, don't take the joke about the product as a personal attack. If it works good, it works good. All hardware is ultimately e-waste that will scar some child's lungs during reclamation.
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-board-partners-said-to-plan-5-10-radeon-price-rise-while-prioritizing-8gb-models So whats the plan here?
>>108051426You literally don't need any more than 8GB.
>>108051426>>108051446>8GB models cause performance hitches>"Let's prioritize them."
>>108051446gaben is that you?
Here, graphics card companies. Here's your road to success. Kill all other products other than the 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti 16gb. Only make those. Fuck everything else.
>>108051426>>108051446>>108051474Ummm.. I think the issue is the increase in pricing here.. at that point you might as well get a 5070 which has been free from scalping and price increases so far…
>>108051565And if you fail to grasp the logic here, those are the "good" cards of this generation. If you focus everything on those and can make them better than your peers or offer them in sufficient volume to allow them to remain at or below MSRP, you profit where your diversified peers will lose out.
>>108044928is the ATTACK SHARK R11 Ultra 8K a good mouse? I am wanting to get away from razer and my current basilisk v3 35k.
>>108051633Hell, focus on optimizing the design, and then sell custom faceplates for it. Make one thing really, really good, and put it out there where people who might buy the model under it will see the value you offer and leap to give you more of their money rather than buying from someone else.
>>108051660And I know, if you shake things up you'll get a visit from gangsters. Train your workers in small arms, and melt the gangsters in a series of concealed barrels in your warehouse. And as for their bosses, that's why God made mortar launchers.
is $370 for a used 6800 xt a fair price?
>>108051050with pulsar that would be effective 480hz which would be 2ms persistence blur240hz would be 1000hz so 1ms persistence blur (near perfect)so ideally 240 + strobing is allyouneed(tm)>>108051070less lowered contrast in bright room due to the QD layer getting hit by light so it lowers contrastand the new coating might reduce reflections with better reflection handlingplus it has higher hardness so harder to scratch than the old plastic qd monitor coating
>Founders 5090 for MSRP dropped in my eu web shop from nvidia for old MSRP>Might be the last MSRP drop before we enter the nightmare realm now>Missed it>Even if I fomo'ed and bought it I would need to build rest of system>but It would have been a MSPR FE 5090
>>108051416Anon, one of my dreams is to build some kind of mega recycling plant, that strips all wasted electronics down to atomic bare metal constituents and repurposes them.Imagine if you could extract every molecule of plastic, metal, glass, whatever from an apple watch insetad of seeing it fall into the ocean.
>>108051050pulsar basically killed the idea of high refresh rates. high refresh was just a cope for how badly LCD technology handled motion. none of that shit matters anymore. all you need with a pulsar monitor is 60fps and it will look clear enough that you won't care. even framegen is basically pointless now.
X Pattern or 3 dots for multi-CCD Ryzen CPUs?
>>108051474They don't give a shit about the end user's experience. It's about profit per unit sold.AMD was hoping NVIDIA would raise the overall cost of RTX 50 cards, so they could release a $800 9070 XT from the start. That's why the $750 5070 Ti caused a shitshow @ Radeon.
I just used a kryosheet on my 9850x3d and i have an average idle of 60°C

In fact I actually recommend it.Installing on AMD was a fiddly bitch. The mounting solution for AMD was clearly designed during the last week of August while everyone was dreaming about going to the biergardens and had no time for further meetings. >>108044928>>CASE FANS>Meta: Case with good stock PWM fans>Midrange: Arctic P12 Pro, P14 Pro (5-pack, loud @ higher RPM)>High-end: Fractal Momentum, Noctua G2 (140mm or 120mm)guys. any recommendation for pin3? they are all for pin4
>>108052249I'm rather ignorant, but isn't 3pin just the same but without the tach readout? You could very easily make your own adapter.
>>108052249You can use pin4 fans on pin 3 headers just fine; you just won't have access to PWM fan control.
>>108049481why? You can get a 2080super for $200. Unless you really need the 12gigs of vram.
>>108052349thanks. also I just read you can connect several arctic p12 pro between them. does that mean I can connect 3 and only use a single pin 4 to connect on motherboard? also control the speed through the PWM?
>>108052407Yes, but the tach signal has to come from only one of the fans. Then they'll all spin at the same speed.
>>108052445got it, so they will be forced to be synchronized. is there a limit on how many fans can be connected to each other?
>>108052407>thanks. also I just read you can connect several arctic p12 pro between them. does that mean I can connect 3 and only use a single pin 4 to connect on motherboard?Yes, but there's only so much current a single board's fan header can safely handle.I wouldn't daisy chain more than 3 case fans to one motherboard fan header unless you know the exact specs. The official product spec sheets are your friend. Each P12 Pro requires 0.33A per the official specs.https://www.arctic.de/us/P12-Pro/ACFAN00305APic is an example of what the ASUS B850 TUF motherboard says about the current specs for their fan headers.
>>108052466>is there a limit.Yes, but you're going to have to check your motherboard's manual for a maximum current on the header you're using.
>>108049555>>108049846Hey anon I was really happy to help. I learnt about all of this myself when I nearly pulled the trigger on a green matcha The Tower 300 from Thermaltek like a week ago and fell down an airflowed rabbit hole. You had a Deepcool and now you have a Deepcooler for yourself! Godspeed anon.
>>108052482>>108052488thanks anons. I will go with p12 in this case. I think p14 is a bit overboard, and it will be too noisy.
>>1080506965070 is peak product for beaten wives and cucks. Nvidia very knowingly releases xx60 Ti 16Gb but then xx70 12Gb only just so they can nudge you into spending a tiny bit more again and go for the xx70 Ti 16Gb uncompromised experience. Then you have peak midwits on the Internet encouraging people to go from 60 Ti to 70 and then others stating 70 to 70 Ti is better for not much less. It's a very well oiled machine by a cynical company.
what can I do with a bunch of optiplex psu's?I'm thinking at least one I can use to power an e-gpu for a minipc I'm using as an htpc, but I've also got two others. On that topic, would it be better to upgrade an existing 1660s to a 2080super and the use the displaced card, or to just buy an rx6600 along with the egpu dock?
>>108052651I should've mentioned:basement pc has a 5600x with a 1660s.htpc is a minipc with a 7640HS, no occulink out but it does support thunderbolt 4 and has a spare nvme bay that could be used for an occulink adapter.I'll have to buy a dock anyways(~200) and bodge on one of these psus+3d printed shroud. The question is whether I should upgrade pc 1 and use the displaced gpu, or just get a gpu for the minipc.
>>108051426Kek. AMD trying to create FOMO on their products. Absolutely delusional.
>>108052482>>108052407the real world current draw is a bit differentyou still want to spec for max draw because thats what will happen at boot
>>108050741Every review I saw says the issue is with the Pro series while P12/14 either PWM or "base" work fine. I have 1 P12 PWM for 3 years and it's fine and I'm one to notice any noises. Granted, it's set to auto on the motherboard so it's probably not at max speeds ever.
>>108051723No, the 6800 xt are in maintenance mode and no longer on the main branch driver and with dlss 4.5 even a 5060 is better value unless you need to do AI slop in which case get an used 4060 ti 16gb or a 3060
>>108050741FUCK.really? I've yet to make use of these, guess it's why they've been so discounted lately.
