Why does paste pump out matter if the entire idea is that its only supposed to fill in the gaps between the natural almost-flatness of the heat spreader and cooler contact plate? Surely if its stuck inside a gap it will stay inside that gap? What's pushing it out? Expansion due to heat alone?

I don't know what those anons are so mad about, but I only rebuilt the system in this cramped-ass case as a reality check against the PB600 both with and without the side panel. I was very much aware of the clearance/airflow issue deshrouding this card would cause from the moment I first put it together, but figured the noise profile was worth it.

Besides, I'm selling off my old cases anyway precisely because they are cramped. Something like a HAF would have solved both noise and thermals (acoustic foam, filters, and rubber can be modded in later) but I'd need to find a good printing place first.

there is 2cm space between the gpu and cooler for hot air to escape to the back, and 2cm from the gpu to the side panel.

Pump out matters way more on GPUS because they don't have a heatspreader. It's a just a bare die thats extremely slippery & not flat. Look at 7900XTX for example its a nightmare to have even coverage with paste with 7 dies so you must use PTM.

My 5070 Ti has two stands holding up the far end and yet unless my eyeballs are failing me the PCB actually looks like its still very subtly bent in convex towards the far end. I just had the worst week ever of owning a pc. My 5070 ti finally arrived that I back ordered on best buy a month ago and it was nothing but hell once I installed that piece of shit. Weird artifacts even just on the windows desktop, microstutters everytime I opened any ui menu in the OS, etc. I reinstalled windows and these issues persisted. Coming from a 5700xt I was not expecting the nvidia drivers to be even worse than my old card was at launch. Thankfully due to the shortage I've been able to sell it on Facebook marketplace for all my money back and I got a 9070 XT instead now, everything works great again

Report all flamewarring, trolling, spamming posts. Long live /pcbg/!

Post your /pcbg/ anyway but know that we have enraged the amdshitposter to the degree that he has vowed to shit up this thread with trash with the goal of killing it.

Spotting the shitposters: the shitposters may be working at gunpoint in a bot farm, paid shill/bot farm, lone schizo, etc. the shitposters rarely ever just tags the OP and asks for it to be updated or changed as asked for in the second part of the sticky. they also resort to things like ad hominem, racism, cherry picked benchmarks, false information, etc. and one of my favorite things is the lone post tagging no one but responding to some previous reply to whatever argument it felt it was losing or with a one-liner just to flood the vapid minds of the unwashed masses with <specific vendors products>. the shitposters necropost old tropes to flood the threads and bump post counts e.g. random garbage questions that any /noob/ would just google or disingenuous descriptions of problems that are copypasta with a few words changed in them. Single line, low-quality posts are often the copypasta. Most recently the OP appears to be trying a super stealth approach - creating the OP with only "subtle" alterations like "-Avoid Nvidia Due To Possible Melting Connectors & Driver Problems", and griefing /g/ by creating and self deleting the thread after a short while.

remain vigilant, /pcbg/, report in silence, and above all - have fun.

hey pcbg, wanted your opinions on this. i have the antec flux pro and a 420mm lf3 and i wanted to mount it on the front with tubes down, but saw that there is no space, so instead of mounting it with tubes up i decided to put it on top. the configuration that i think is best is pic related, with the rad fans in pull config and case fans in front and rear as exhaust; the gpu has its on intake on the bottom.
cant do any tests because im still missing the cpu from the build, but do you think putting the rad in front or configuring the top rad fans as exhaust instead of pull might be better?

Lol, lmao even. Looks like ASUS had the right idea to reinforce their GPUs with metal frames in key areas, so there's one reason why you would want to avoid other brands when modding especially with 3 regular fans, the fan to heatsink weight becomes skewed. I'm not happy with my monitor having an annoyingly angular gaymer look to it, I want to repaint it white but also want to replace the stand since it supposedly is VESA compatible.

Any suggestions on what the cheapest VESA 100x100 mounts are these days?

Hey anon, you won't believe the odds of what I got here; had the same thoughts a few months ago and bought this Eizo stand from some IT firm second hand. It will be a little wobbly at times but otherwise it's a perfect match for this particular screen size and tilts/rotates great too on top of being well balanced.

I'm only asking precisely because it isn't going according to keikaku, it seems like the heatsink despite being free to swivel around a bit is still stuck on those brass standoffs and I'd hate to pull too hard lest I rip some pads underneath the memory or the core unlike on the Ventus 2X.

If you want ray tracing going forward, 16GB of VRAM should be the minimum spec which is why the 5060 Ti and 4060 Ti will have an edge over the 4070 and 5070. Paying 600 dollars for 12GB of VRAM is a cruel joke when the card is more than powerful enough to run it.

They won't. Amd won't even release a new chip with 3dvcache until 2028.

Intel has no intentions of ever putting vcache on their chips ever again. They did it a decade ago and now that amd is pulling the same trick they want nothing to do with it.

Honestly I feel like intel has no desire to enter into the gaming market. I feel like it's more likely that nvidia releases an x86 processor with vcache than Intel now.

>Is this reviewer legit?
that Igor is pretty well known in tech

seems it has bad osd in other areas too, that's what I said, the worst thing you get when you go for budget monitors is a worse osd/firmware apparently and in oleds this is even more painful since you now have to deal with the dreaded aids of the pixel refresh algo cycle and AOC has the vintage 16 hour one, which as you know people sperged out on MSI on because they sell more monitors and were cheap, also no monitor should ever have a forced refresh ever, this is retarded as hell, but they put it in anyway, literally makes monitors unsuable for me it's that painful, on top of it all, it's completely a meme, 4 hour 16 hour, all made up recommendations from the panel manufacturers LG / Samsung, both which by the way don't have any forced pixel refresh behaviors, but the the gaymer brands do have it?
the absolute state!

trying other lesser known "budget" alternatives in oled you realize how fucking horrendous the monitor firmware is too, features not working and looking like complete shit, gaming features that is, other firmware quirks, all that shit, yet people glaze this?

but honestly the most egregious fucking thing is the forced pixel refresh which dictates when you can use your monitor for some random arbitrary reason because a timer went off, that does not work or track correctly by the way since the firmware is shit, like holy fuck, just patch the monitor turn that garbage off and let me burn in the monitor, I don't care, just let me use the fucking monitor?
>>
>>108104678

refer to that above
>>
>>108104622
so what I'm saying is if you gonna get oledtaxxed, just spend a bit more and get a better osd/monitor/firmware and does not make you suicidal, about it

I'm a techlet that's been gaming at 1080p 60fps for most of my PC life. When I upgrade it should open the door to 1440p, which will at the very least require a 1440p monitor.
My current setup has two 1080p monitors that are older and have a low refresh rate to the point where (if I'm understanding it right) I'm capped at 60fps by my monitor even if my PC could put out more fps on a game.

Even after I upgrade I'm sure there will be some games where I will not be able to get a stable lets say 120fps at 1440p on highest settings. So I'm trying to understand what alternatives are best. And since I've never experienced above 60fps or 1080p I don't personally know which of the following are shit and unplayable, or are not that bad and playable.
>run the game at 1440p and get a fluctuating framerate between 60 and 120 (or just cap it to a 60 fps in 1440p if fluctuation makes it unplayable)
>use settings/gpu to run the game at 1080p and upscale it to 1440p on my 1440p monitor, hopefully ensuring a stable 120 fps
>just run the game at 1080p and just keep a native 1080p monitor as my second display for games like this, all but guaranteeing even the most demanding game will have a stable 60fps 1080p option available

So after an upgrade my hardware will be one of the following
>two new 1440p 120+ fps monitors
>one new 1440p 120+ fps monitor, one new 1080p 120+ fps monitor
>one new 1440p 120+ fps monitor, my current old 1080p 60 fps monitor

Which is the best so that I always have an option available for at least 60fps (and as much as 120 or whatever the kids are using these days) whether its 1080p or 1440p. A stable framerate is a must I fucking hate laggy gameplay.
I might be completely misunderstanding the whole fps/resolution landscape too so if I'm wrong or these options are shit please tell me. I have no personal experience with how anything above 1080p 60fps looks or interacts.

>>>use settings/gpu to run the game at 1080p and upscale it to 1440p on my 1440p monitor, hopefully ensuring a stable 120 fps
whatever you do don't do that

>two new 1440p 120+ fps monitors
would be the most ideal

>run the game at 1440p and get a fluctuating framerate between 60 and 120 (or just cap it to a 60 fps in 1440p if fluctuation makes it unplayable)
That is fine you'd use VRR which syncs fps to monitor refresh rate

You will not return to 1080p60fps after using it, ever

If you are unsure just buy 1 1440p monitor now and use one of the 1080p ones as a 2nd display only

I had muitple bad experiences with generations of products that culminated at the end of GCN with me swearing to never buy another Radeon GPU because their drivers are fucking atrocious. their software support even more so, and their existing tools being wildly inferior to the competition (encoding for example, to this day its not even close). but go on king, keep shilling like that's going to change my mind. the only platform that Radeon is OK on is Linux because AMD themselves doesn't write those drivers. On Apple its also not written by them, the Radeon India driver team is a literal shitshow.

I bought a warrantless tray cpu from aliexpress which saved money and you def want am5 x3d cpu for your build to have longevity and better perf. Im not sure whats the best option for you tho, maybe you too have options to buy tray cpus from somewhere,

I don't see an issue
500 hours on
30 times power cycled
12tb written/read

Due it still being in hexadecimal I think it says 10 errors near the bottom? But it may be due to hard power off
Sorry I'm most familiar with Samsung and WD/SanDisk
But it looks like a good deal
I do recall it might get hot so use it under a heatsink or fan
Also Google AI says it may have poor random writes (but not really an issue if used for daily use or gaming -- only maybe installs may be affected, barely)

How is the 265k?
It's kind of annoying to read discussions about the core ultras because they get flooded with comments talking about how the 7000/9000 series from amd is better for gaming and there's always some bit about socket longevity. I don't give a shit about socket longevity. I have used the same cpu for the last six years and I'll probably use the next upgrade for longer than that.

I digress. Seems like the 245k is just as good outside of multicore workloads where the 265k gets +%33 or so. I don't do video encoding, but it is nice to have the flexibility of a capable chip. Might consider the 9900x as well

It's similar to the 9600 vs 9700 question. You wan mo' coahs for da workloads? Then bigger number CPU fasterer. 6 vs 8 P-cores. You could say that if you value 8 main cores for "optimal" gaming performance and have the budget then you should spring for the 265K.

eBay is full of the lowest of the low. I had someone try to Jew me out of a DDR3 kit of ECC I was buying for a really old server. It was like $45. They approved the sale, hten refused to send it, I complained to eBay, they reached out in messages to offer me the RAM kit for $60 now but private sale only, not through eBay.
>against eBay rules and they actively go through their internal messaging system to see if that shit is getting done
>guy wanted MORE money to go private and risk my eBay account instead of less
>report him, all his listings get taken down
It's a nightmare.

reminds me of selling and buying items in runescape

once upon a time, Craigslist wasn't a bad place honestly. I used to buy old computer hardware from aging tech gurus looking to clean out their collection and closet. Half of them just seemed happy to talk tech with someone.
>meet up at approved location, usually a parking lot of a McDick's
>see the hardware
>half the time these tech uncles would have a small portable camping battery and/or tiny generator to actually power on the components you were buying to show they work
>cash in hand, no bullshit
>have actually had guys reach out like 2 weeks later to ask if I was satisfied with the item
>confess the item died on me but it was only $35, no big deal
>they send me $45 as a refund via PayPal for the item and $5 extra for the gas I and time I wasted
These days you couldn't pay me to go to a Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace deal without at least 2 of my friends, all of us armed, wearing soft armor under a jacket. Not even exaggerating at that either. Individuals of a certain urban ethnic persuasion ruined any trust these platforms once had

Dumbest thing is you actually can set "reserve bids" so if you end up selling and item way lower than what you really want, it doesn't complete.

This guy not only doesn't know how to use the website but is a piece of shit scamming people out of auctions.

sorry to hear about niggers, must be awful

tbf reserve bids are a necessary evil. I tried selling some stuff on eBay more than once. Whenever I upgrade I usually sell my old gaming hardware and honestly, I always try to keep it a fair deal because I yearn for a world of before. No scalpers and bots selling shit for 2x markup of their MSRP. I.e. Recently sold an Asus X370 Crosshair motherboard with Ryzen 1800X and Cooler Master single tower cooler for $100. I was getting BOMBARDED by bots on accounts literally made a week ago with no purchase or selling history "buying my auction out". I'd wait 3 days, get no communication or payment. Then I'd be forced to relist it. So I basically had to set my reserve price at the asking buy it now price so a non bot doesn't get lucky and snag my shit for $5.
>>108106759
Truly a blight on modern society. I wish we could go back in time. To what point I don't know, but something has to be done so I don't have to deal with these literal animals.

When the 12GB Vram start to choke, 5060ti's weaker core would choke likewise, making it unplayable anyway.
>>
>>108106789
if you don't use the reserve bid feature and somebody wins your item on a $5 bid then yes you can say "well this item is worth $200 so obviously i am not selling it for $5" however this wasn't what happened at all, I got a good deal on a computer case and this faggot wanted more money.

Shit like this is why I hate online dog shit sites in current year.
I usually don't mind selling my shit to a real person at a bit of a loss for what I might be able to get if I know its going to a good home that will make use of it. But all these dicks just want to get it for dirt and relist to flip it like fuck off.
>>
>>108106815
yeah scummy sellers being scummy is the eBay special. this is also why I don't like buying GPU's used from anywhere really. No one will tell you the GPUs are former mining cards. I would just feel guilty if I sold a card like that to someone. Same as I would feel shitty doing what that guy did to you.
>>
>>108106848
I always hunt around my family, friends, their family and friends, even cousins or something because I'd much rather sell my older tech to someone for like $50 to $100 as opposed to fighting online to make $170.

That thingy in the bottom Why isn't it normal like the top part?
>>
Anons, it's almost a few months into I built my PC, is there any good guide into maintaining my PC? I mean on the cleaning part and reapplying thermal paste, etc, etc? I want to give it maintenance but I dunno where to start
>>
>>108107023
vacuum internals it once a year, depending on how dusty your apartment is, external filters couple times a year
change gpu/cpu paste once in 5 years for a phase change material upgrade

I didn't add a hole, I vastrated that pink dildo. You're the one who wants to love it long time.
>>
>>108107023
there's really nothing to maintain besides de-dusting. changing the thermal paste is kinda an overkill unless you're noticing a huge fan noise spike
