Recently got my iPod fixed. Got back here years later to look through the recommendations in OP. By chance one of the IEMs in the list that I can get my hands on is Cadenza. How do you like it?

I've been using my XM5 in wired mode and I'm not sure how I can cope without the ANC but I really want something that's less bulky, especially when it's raining since the XM5 shits the bed as soon as your rain coat gets a bit damp.

Well most importantly it's great aesthetically and you got multiple color options to choose from. There's a risk of getting a shitty float but that's where the excitement is. It's like gambling. Mine turned out well as you can see, so I cooked. The cable isn't that great, but it's pretty good for the price still. I like that it's angled. The shape is ok. It's comfortable enough. Can't imagine you can get much better for this price. I like the sound. I'd say it's Harman based. It's not a treble monster and it doesn't have basketball American bass. It's just right for vocals.

I really don't know what would be better for the money all things considered.

I actually thought about buying those because I don't have any TWS with good ANC and passive isolation of regular IEMs only gets you so far, but this is a disaster
and I'm not sure but the built in EQ seems to have fixed frequencies so it wouldn't even be easy to fix without external apps

I'm hoping that I'm wrong and you can change the EQ bands or that one of the built-in EQ presets fixes the sound beyond what the user can do since they sometimes do that

i have the cheapo version wf-c510 and they're great. sound quality is about as good as every other bluetooth bud ive tried and the battery life is insane.
only complaint is the case is the cheapest plastic ive ever felt. the buds themselves are fine though.

Because your hearing is less sensitive to bass and highs at lower volumes. If you crank up the volume, it'll sound the same, assuming there's no compression involved. Pretty easy to record a loopback, normalize in Audacity, and run a null test to confirm it.
