How can anons have decision "paralysis"?
When I built my first PC well over 10 years ago I rarely fussed over every single component.
I was just happy to have a modern PC at the time.

Are anons that afraid of being "suboptimal" in every tiny detail? If they don't get the exact RAM, motherboard, etc the PC is just worthless?

What's the rational for waiting? Don't anons want a PC?

Guys

Buy the stuff you actually want. Not the stuff that is cheaper or affordable.

You'll save yourselves a lot of time money and buyer's remorse.

The monitor you actually want. The keyboard you actually want. the GPU you actually want. Just buy it. It's your money. There will be more money. Ignore any family or friends saying you shouldn't have bought it if you actually wanted it. I'm not saying overspend, underspend or not take advice but I am 100% saying buy what YOU want.

amd cards always age well because devs all use and prioritize nvidia so when games launch the drivers are already mature so you never see much improvement for the next months on any given game, meanwhile amd drivers are at their infancy when a game launches (except for cod for whatever reason) so fps and frametimes improve a lot over the development cycle of the game

Already has. Only (you) can make it better.

Report all flamewarring, trolling, spamming posts. Long live /pcbg/!

Post your /pcbg/ anyway but know that we have enraged the amdshitposter to the degree that he has vowed to shit up this thread with trash with the goal of killing it.

remain vigilant, /pcbg/, report in silence, and above all - have fun.

Spotting the shitposters: the shitposters may be working at gunpoint in a bot farm, paid shill/bot farm, lone schizo, etc. the shitposters rarely ever just tags the OP and asks for it to be updated or changed as asked for in the second part of the sticky. they also resort to things like ad hominem, racism, cherry picked benchmarks, false information, etc. and one of my favorite things is the lone post tagging no one but responding to some previous reply to whatever argument it felt it was losing or with a one-liner just to flood the vapid minds of the unwashed masses with <specific vendors products>. the shitposters necropost old tropes to flood the threads and bump post counts e.g. random garbage questions that any /noob/ would just google or disingenuous descriptions of problems that are copypasta with a few words changed in them. Single line, low-quality posts are often the copypasta. Most recently the OP appears to be trying a super stealth approach - creating the OP with only "subtle" alterations like "-Avoid Nvidia Due To Possible Melting Connectors & Driver Problems", griefing /g/ by creating and self deleting the thread after a short while, deleting the OP img, shilling native vs upscaling, etc.

old thread died, so repostan:
id love to upgrade my 2019 poverty rig (ryzen 2700, rx590) for a more up to date poverty rig.
im looking at ryzen 5600 and keep the same mobo (B450 tomahawk max) and i can't decide on a good poverty GPU to go along with it. Intel Arc B580 12gb seems poverty enough, but i'd love to balance it well with the cpu. im open to any suggestions, bros.
Even the suggestion to WAIT until the CPU/GPU prices are back to where they were 3 fucking months ago...
Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

>>
>>108182065
Shillanon, you have to stop being such a tryhard. The one-trick-pony approach e.g. your 9700 XT vs. everything is utterly stupid.

History shows us that AMD abandons their hardware long before Nvidia does.

No argument you give will change the fact that Nvidia has the better technology in the GPU arena. It's literally winning the real world marketplace.

If an anon is doing a /midrange/ build or better they would be a fool to choose anything other than a DLSS 4.5 capable card in the current market if they want to have a long-term stable build.

I feel you on the gpus. Theres a lot that can go wrong there. Just sucks that even the most midrange gpus like the 9060xt or 5070 are so fucking expensive now. Intel might be your best bet, but I also have no idea how it preforms compared to similarly priced cards.

I was like that too. I was checking bestvaluegpu.com daily trying to find whatever was the best value, was gonna buy a 1080 off ebay for 80 bucks because that was the best value, second in line was the 2080ti and then the 3060, I think.
Because the smarter thing to do would have been to buy those at those price and then upgrade a year or two later when newer GPUs at better value than the 5000 series came out.
HOWEVER in the end I ended up getting 9070XT, and it's a good thing with the rise in prices.
I still feel like I made a mistake buying the 9070xt because it was better value than the 5070ti at the time, but the difference was like $100, but not that the 5070ti has gone up in price but the 9070xt hasn't gone up as much, buying the 5070ti actually would have been the best value card to buy by far.

Been out of the loop for 5+ years in the monitor space, and now that the old monitor I used as second screen died the other day, I need a new one to use as primary screen. How far are 4k OLEDs from being actually affordable? I don't want to spend 1k USD on the monitor, but 500 USD sounds reasonable. From what I can see the MSI 274URDFW E16M is the best option around that price point, and I do need the KVM with USB-C power delivery, but sort of disappointing how I've been buying IPS screens for the past 10 years.

Eh, like 3 dollars less. I'm just wondering whether Akyga's or Noctua's design would be better or not at a glance.
>I needed 4, ended up with a pack of 20, now 16 sitting in a box somewhere.
I'm probably gonna be pruning my two old cases which were the main source of bore-through screws soon, I'll probably get 2 packs 20 to offset the shipping cost which should cover any and all fans I might be needing to mount in the future.
>>
>>108182605
Less notches than the SAV3/4 for less complex situations. Looks like a longer version of SAV2. Noctua autist here.
Depending on dimensions might be less flared so may be easier for smaller screw holes. You have to cut the end flare on Noctua for small ass holes in OEM situations like HP prebuilts, tried just using leftover plugs for a 90mm OEM fan which worked on the fan but the small hole + sharp sheet metal just completely raped the plug. I'll try again when I just order a 3 pin Noctua after I debloat the HP to use as an HTPC. I fitted it with 2x16 DDR5 3200 - one Samsung and one Sk Hynix, same timings -- and it passed two passes of memtest.
>>
>>108182520
>especially for text
Right.
Thankfully the distance where I sit from the monitor makes it so that text for me is not janky, but I sure as hell can see why people shit on reading text on oled if I get a bit closer to the screen.

>>108182533
>Do you have a local store where you can go have a look?
Sadly I live in a non-capital city in a balkan shithole (sovl or something) so even though I can go to stores to look at monitors, they are either all turned off or they only show a shitty 1080p ad of the store itself regardless of their resoltuion, and the staff can't change the source to show a 4k demo vid from youtube. Eh.
I will for sure get a 4k monitor, I just can't really decide if I should get a 27 or a 32 inch one. I feel like a 32 inch qd-oled would probably be the best option. Gigabyte fo32u2p seems to have similar (almost identical even) scores as the Asus pg27ucdm on rtings, which apparently is the best monitor right now.
So I'll either choose one of those two or the xg32ucwmg which even though is a W-OLED, seems like is recommended by a lot of reviewers.

continuing with IPS is the only real guaranteed bang for buck. MiniLED gives you a cheaper foot in the door towards OLEDs without the slew of issues, but there's far fewer miniLED monitors and much older
OLEDs are still in the R&D phase of new technology, anything you buy now is going to be outclassed in a couple years even if you pay over $1k. CES literally just announced a bunch of RGB OLED panels so that's going to take time to roll out to wider models and sizes

The latter
I can take pics later if you want
But 3 is literally 2 with notches
4 is just 3 without the head cone if you need a flat side (i.e. flush next to a dust filter or additional case piece)

Pic related is SAV4 bc there's a faceplate with filter that goes in front of this so I couldn't use #3 unless I wanted to cut the damn things and even then it was a tight clearance
and I couldn't use #2 (which comes with the fans) bc it didn't have additional notches
Disclosure #3 comes with the IS1-12/14 inlet spacers so you don't have to buy them extra unless you need extra
