according to studies, 122% of tech workers would rather not work in tech
I don't see how any of you can say being a Sterile Processing Tech isn't a tech job. Anyways I'm loving my job security right now, it's great to be working a job that's ai in demand and knowing anywhere I go is hiring. How about you other fellow tech workers?
today my whole workflow changes. no more IDE. terminal, AI agents, and github
i saw my supervisor use a LLM today for the first time. it was baffling. the malaise i feel still lingers even now.
>>108193353scalpel busboy/diswasher is not a technology job
>>108193454Neither is sitting in your mom's basement hoping you'll get a response from one of your applications
>>108193477This is /twg/, the jobless losers would be in >>>/g/utwg/. I, for one, welcome our Sanitation Architects.
>>108193501So any person who's been given a drive-by informing on any topic they've decided they should care about and assumed that the one piece of information on the topic that managed to stay in their head was everything anyone needs to know about the topic and must be true?
>>108193504Yes, because in this thread we #BelieveWomen
>>108193344i absolutely do not want to work in tech anymore and my whole life was a mistake
>almost done with the interview process for a company>on the last interview they start going more in depth as to what exactly the job will entail>I'm going to be cleaning up a bunch of shit other people did 20 years ago and modernizing the software>codebases are mostly in python or javait's... a lot of money for a zoomer though.
>>10819352698% of software dev is fixing other people's messes. If you stick with it, in a couple years you'll get to make some of your own
Got a promotion today. Tc increase about 30k

The AI can't find the bug in our vibe slopped codebase anymore, so today I will check out a few dozen vibe slopped commits around the time the code was probably still working and see why it broke.I don't even know if the correct code is in git, because people commit at random times now.
i have 20 years of experience and I've been unable to get a job because i look like this
>>108193744Then where did your income go? Where did your savings go?>>108193781Where do you live rn?
>>108193944wow that sucks manon an unrelated note, how many threads have you made on /pol/ crying about looksmaxxing zoomers?
>>108193953no that's not my style
Billionaires pits everyone making 100k a year to 10k a yearHonestly just having a job puts you above 80% of the populationYou have aspirations to do, skill to get you by, money for independence, and time for hobbiesThe fuck those unemployed retards do on the daily? Scroll goon and bicker on social media daily. Can't even enjoy a proper hobby and becoming constant disappointment to their parents.Their parents are in their 30s 40s still making minimum wage and they themselves will never be able to reach their parents level. If you have a job right now and use your entire free time doing jackshit that doesnt improve your identity like studying more, doing hobby projects that accentuates the degree that you have, connecting with other hardworking / talented people around you or above you and only mingle with what the unemployed retards do like scrolling, gooning, bickering on socials maybe you havent learned your lesson yet. Maybe you should just go back being unemployed.
>>108193944you look like one of my company's directors
>>108193997>Their parents are in their 30s 40sstopped reading heretoo much zoomerspeak
Are there still jobs in tech? I keep hearing people say AI is replacing it all and I'm just starting my degree. Is there a certain area I should specialize in to secure a future position or is it mostly a bunch of fearmongering shit again?
>>108193546congrats anon, how did you do it? did you try really hard
AI has unironically made me more depressed than I've ever been in my entire life. I've put down weed and alcohol over the last couple years with no real plan to pick them back up (with the exception of concerts) but I'm thinking of using my new found energy to start a cult now that the castaways of humanity will need a leader. I'm trying to charismamaxx now that software developmaxxing is dead
>>108193944don't even bother trying to diet the wholesome chungus wayhop on tirzepatide immediately. Not joking. There is nothing else that will save you.Use your savings and fly to turkey asap to get a hair transplant. Or invest in a hair system (one of the $1,000 dollar toupees that last 6 months)It's over for you. But if you stop being a retard and commit to it, it will be less over for you in 3 months from now.
>>108193944who cares about a job... how do you live with yourself?
>>108193526Fixing other people's unoptimized, spaghetti code would be the real test of your skills as a programmer. If you can do that well, you would have more worth than the vast majority of people in this industry.
>>108194025Not really, I feel like I'm just efficient. I think I've worked less hours than most of my coworkers for sure, and then my boss says I'm doing great
>>108193546Based, what were you doing and what do you do now?
>>108194194I was an ic3 and now I'm an ic4. It's the same job, I'll just be trusted to lead more multi people efforts.
