Alright, no more shitty fans (anything other than Noctua or be quiet! presumably), this better be worth it for $30. I considered getting the NF-A14 but the acoustics seemed bad on video.I'm fresh out of 140mm fans after strapping my P14 Pro and Mistral to my GPU, so if this is the only 140mm fan I'll be using in a case for now it might as well be this. Looking at monitors and see a lot of OLED and VA ones that mention VRR flicker. Is that a big enough downside to make or break a choice?

They move twice the air a 140mm SW4 does at the same air pressure, though they are supposedly 18db vs 13.6 db at 800 rpm which led me to wonder if they could update this fan to get more out of it.>Noctua isn't developing a G2 200mm fan because it's a niche marketMy assumption as well, though these fans with the amount of air they move at full speed for the price seem like a good fit for a roomy, noise dampened full tower if the air pressure is not too weak.
>>108277782First of all, there are several sweeping changes in hierarchy and market share across the survey’s many categories. The most seismic is the apparent rise of Simplified Chinese as the platform’s dominant language, increasing by a whopping 30.74% while English falls by 14.74%. If we take this shift at face value, we’re either staring down a massive influx of Chinese Steam users or Valve is underreporting statistics from other regions.Continuing to examine the red flags, total hard drive space and RAM capacities have similarly ballooned, by 18% and 19%, respectively. Given that RAM and SSD prices haven’t been in a consumer-friendly place for some time, I highly doubt Steam users have so quickly built up their memory and storage to such levels. Then there’s the 10% drop in Windows 11 market share. While Microsoft’s operating system grows increasingly unpopular following several problematic updates, it’s difficult to believe that a massive 12% of the user base has run back to Windows 10. This goes against the steady decline we’ve seen in recent months, with Linux emerging as a big competitor.
>>108278056>>108277931Inlet spacers are crucial for mesh or closed areas for intake. Buy or 3d print. Also, I hope the HAF anon isn't the same guy trying to scrub tar from his tower. >>108278176Why the delay isn't pushing to 2030While things look grim for gamers right now, there are three reasons why 2030 is unlikely:Competitive Pressure: While NVIDIA dominates AI, AMD (with RDNA 5) and Intel (with Battlemage/Celestial) are still targeting 2027-2028. NVIDIA cannot leave the high-end gaming market vacant for five years without losing significant mindshare. The "Feynman" Architecture: NVIDIA has already publicly added a post-Rubin architecture called Feynman to their roadmap for 2028-2029. If they waited until 2030 for the 60-series, their entire multi-year roadmap would have to be scrapped.New Memory Factories: Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are currently building massive new DRAM "fabs" specifically to address the shortage. These are expected to be fully operational by 2027, which should ease the supply issues that are currently strangling GPU production.

Think I'm going to buy this from Costco. They have them at stock at my local store too so I can return it if anything's wrong. You literally cannot build this cheaper. RTX 5080 would be around $1,300+Ryzen 9 9900X would be around $400Motherboard would be around $250+Ram would be $350+ right nowPSU around $150+Case around $150+2TB NVMe SSD ~$200+CPU Cooler ~$90+Building something similar would cost around $2,890+, so $600 more, plus a free keyboard and mouse I could re-sell seems like a great deal. First time I'll ever buy a pre-built, I've been building PCs every few years since I built my first one in 2005 when I was in high school. Last one I build was in 2021, RTX 3080 build. I do want something better though, my 3080 is not as capable at modern games as I'd like it to be.

>>108278509My costco has an entire pallet of them, I've been walking past it almost every week since I got there almost weekly and they had a bunch of them last time I was there, but I agree they will probably sell out pretty fast. >>108278135Tar scrubber here, the day I posted that I went through all 8 panels with Nevo balm washing up liquid before I found the E500 oetker soda and the pack of citric acid, which we use to clean the sink and kettle by combining them into a paste with boiling water. Considering half of the panels didn't get as thorough of a scrub and rinse with steamy hot water, I will try the paste on one just to be sure since it sudded a lot with the dish washing fluid. The paint is stripped anyway. The rest I had intended to pour some acetone or IPA on key spots like the mesh and scrub/wipe just to be sure, if the dropping liquid was clear I'd take it as confirmation it was clean enough for painting. Paint was already chipped or stripped in some spots anyway. Also, I had to use IPA to wick and loosen the motherboard standoffs, couldn't get F out since it would stay loose but could not rotate out left or right, so I kept that one.The more pressing matter will be if I can fix the bend, so tommorow after it vents some I'll give it a smell and see how it screws and nuts together with M3's. The first batch which were scrubbed more with acetone on a toothbrush or dipped followed by the long dish washing seem to bear a very weak smell indistinguishable from the paint or metal, though my CM Force 500 panel as a control indicates it should be odorless so I might risk the acidic soda scrub one more time before sanding off the powder coat, just hoping it wont leave it vulnerable to rust since it may break down the protective zinc layer for all I know.Progress does seem to be happening though. Surface is already noticeably nicer to the touch and smell.

>>108279143Pulsar is interesting because it's VRR+BFI, which to my understanding is the first time this has worked together. they are also not OLED which nobody recommends outside of gaming or TV's because burn-in is definitely still a major concern. so Pulsar provides 600hz 1080 TN Zowie or OLED motion clarity on a 1440 IPS display which can be used on a wide spectrum of refresh rates while most monitors struggle to provide motion clarity away from their maximum refresh rate.
>>108279159Nothing can actually run 4k. There's no real use case for it outside of gaming either, before you try pulling that card. 4k remains the realm of televisions, so there's no reason to care about it over 1440p.

It's always a bad deal if you get something you wouldn't buy anyway! And how do you know the motherboard is worth 250? It's a fucking OEM system! You won't get a MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi from an OEM. What even are the specs of the RAM? What are the specs of the PSU? And that boring case isn't worth 150!
>>108280219!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>108280207the best asus monitor is one that is 20% off or the lg alternative with the same panel for the same price of the 20% off one. the understated design is just the cherry on top.
>>108279947>get a keychron keyboardYep. I'm so glad I get rid of my Razer shit. That software was so buggy and you have to run it to control the homo lights.
>>108280271non spyware aids software is a giant plus and shouldn't be understated. if it is not running in the background and auto starting on boot with a background service and telemetry it's basically perfect. being portable is the non plus ultra. being open source and a standard makes me cum.
>>108278879Why the fuck do you need AI Slop for? What happened to buying pcs for gaming? AI and its consequences have been a disaster for PCs.
>>108280292I also use the Logitech Onboard Memory Manager now. Razer had like 15 background programs running that would freeze up randomly.

>>108280374I already posted my Gentle Typhoons earlier in this thread.Go ahead and spray paint retard. Go ahead.Don't cry when it starts shitting itself in 3 years when it can last 15. There's a nice reason we get to replace furnaces in my industry (HVAC) before the electronics and heat exchangers fail - it's because of the blower motor and wheel going to shit because someone didn't change their filters enough and then eventually dust build up caused enough stress for the bearings to fail.Again, you can spray paint, but don't expect the same performance or quality or lifespan of a normal unmolested fan. Shit ain't rocket science.
>>108280364All of Newegg's combos after this just kept on getting worse. They don't even have anymore and the ones they have now just aren't worth it. We probably won't see another good combo like this anymore.

>>108280476It's not paint, it's the literal polymer base that needs to be tweaked for colors. Different colors or dyes can introduce different mechanical engineering characteristics that influence stability and also plastic longevity. There's a reason why certain plastics break down faster depending on its "color" even though it's the same plastic type.

How many of these random tips and practices when it comes to building PCs is just boomer myths that aren't really the case anymore? It seems like I've already run into a handful of them and when I dig deeper what I find is always something like "oh yeah that was the case 5+ years ago but components are better now"
