same. I used to use one set on my mining rig, but i retired that cuz of the absurd power costs (even though i paid a pile of money for solar panels, although they are angled poorly cuz of a dodgy roof and only give me power from 9:30am to 3pmish) so they all just collect dust.

Maybe i should try to sell the gear, i have enough to justify it, 2 complete pcs, in theory. Not much storage tho lol
>>
>>108316744
It's not noticeable per se but definitely measurable. There are autists out there that benchmark different driver versions and found out for example that 576.88 is the newest driver with good performance across a selection of games with every newer driver losing 10-20% performance in many (but not all) games

Okay, try some testing with balance mode DLSS.

My 1% lows are 35 FPS (on Quality and Pathtracing), which doesn't seem great.

It's annoying, though. My game settings keep resetting every time I open and close the game. Not sure how to fix that.

Tbh I was curious about trying community shaders/modded raytracing implementation in Skyrim, but I don't think I'm gonna add it at the moment to my Lorerim fork.

ddr4 bottlenecks the 13th/14th gen i9 quite a lot so that's not ideal

I think it's more likely that Nvidia Gforce is resetting them.

>>108320377
Really? I seems playable-ish at 70 FPS (at 4k)
I have my CPU and GPU both under volted and over clocked.

I have:
Cascaded Shadows Resolution at Medium.
Screen Space Reflections at High.
Volumetric Fog Resolution at Medium.
These are the ones that hit performance the hardest, for very little gains.

>>108320383
I have 2x frame gen on, not going higher than that.
>>
>>108320402
>I think it's more likely that Nvidia Gforce is resetting them.
right, I had that happen with cs2
>>
>>108320402
You should try DLSS 4.5 performance and frame gen. Or even ultra performance. It looks really good.

>>
>>108320426
start with removing dust and shit
if you want to resolder it you can put it in the oven for a while without the heatsink

if you want to replace capacitors you need quite a bit of equipment for it to be viable
>>
>>108320426
Try putting it in a bucket of rice.

At the recommendation of an anon from the RAM OC thread from earlier this week, I upgraded my case so I could get a 360mm AIO to hopefully keep most of the heat from my CPU away from my RAM since I was getting instability above ~65C. That on its own wasn't enough (I think most of the heat is from my GPU at full load), so I added a side fan pointed directly at my RAM (just zip tied a 140mm fan to the side of the Hyte X50 Air's panel, had to add some rubber standoffs to prevent a really annoying high pitch noise from drawing fast air through the little holes) and setup a curve in fan control for the hottest DIMM so at 60C it's at full speed. This seems to keep my RAM from going above ~57C when I run furmark+TM5, but this is still higher than I would like, and higher than what many people report their RAM maxes out at. Are the Corsair Vengeance heatsinks really this shit? I'm tempted to deshroud them and do something like pic related to try to keep them under 50C.
>>
>>108320636
you likely have to deshroud them. the fan should work better then.
>>
Just upgrade to a 1440p 144hz monitor from a 1080p 60hz. This is life changing.
>>
>>108320636
Hynix A-die is good up to 60c, M-die is 75c. Unless you're running aggressive TREFI,TRFC,Primaries.
>>
>>108320709
and then you go 4k 240hz qd and its even more lifechanging
>>
>>108320745
and finally you upgrade to a pulsar monitor to win cs2 matches

How hard would it be just to have a little cutout in the front side of this PC case so that you can run the gpu power cables down into the near side of the case into the basement rather than crossing the fan of the GPU seriously have PC case designers not learned anything they talk about innovation and design on literally every PC case that they release but there's simple shit like this that they just get completely wrong
>>
>>108320762
you trade it in for a zowie once you hear the fan

Just google your symptoms. Maybe watch some repair videos.
Maybe you can be lucky and there is a short that you can measure on a multimeter (if you had a power station, you could put a bit of power to heat the PCB, and you can feel the hot spot), and all you have to do is replace a resistor or remove the capacitor (most of the SMD capacitors on a GPU could be removed and it can still work).
A good soldering iron for SMD chips will cost more than that GPU itself, like sure, you COULD get a $15 soldering iron / station (with a gigantic tip), but for repairing these kinds of small PCB's a $200 real hot air station + Kapton tape or thermal putty to protect plastics and electrolytic capacitors is a lot more useful than a soldering iron, since you can use a hot air station for replacing (or upgrading) vram chips and maybe even fix the solder under the GPU chip, but just heating the solder isn't enough usually and you need to buy the whole reballing kit + microscope, but that's only if you you know 100% that the only issue is the solder broke, and the PCB pads are not ripped or if the GPU chip itself isn't fried or broken or anything).
I am pretty sure that a $350 refurb steamdeck is stronger than a gtx 950 (but I will assume that you probably just got it for free from a electronic store's garbage bin). And a decent used GPU would be a 1660 TI / super for like $80 or less, which would give you almost 3x the performance.
>>
>>108320790
*Oh, and if you watch gpu repair videos related to vram, you would know that they just run a program that checks the chips, but faulty ram chips will not prevent your PC from posting (you can attempt to boot into an OS), but a power short would not post (no boot menu).

didn't read. those are the parts that get hot on ddr5. the heatspreaders connecting them to the dram are the real problem. they heat up everything else. you have most of the time only one temp sensor and it is not in the dram.

smd components are mainly thermally coupled through the pcb. Its astonishing how many believe the resin cap conducts more heat than solder direcltly alloyed to the die

pulsar have lower refreshrates and slower pixeltransitions though
it's like trying to overcome the inherent hard coded limits that can't be broken
you can't solve va smear or ips pixel transitions
it's just too slow
pulsar does not seem like an upgrade even at the same refresh
idk, people seem to rebelling, the tech isnt selling
it might flop
