Some end up in pic.You shouldn't be running any case fans near their maximum rated RPMs if you're sensitive to noise.Max fan RPM is when your CPU is running at 85°C or above.

>>108310463>as I'm using Linux.Linux PC gamers don't move the needle, the Steam Deck's OS is disproportionately padding its user base figures. The 5070 Ti is selling at over $1,000 in the US, while the cheapest 9070 XTs are priced at $730 (excluding Newegg giftcard promotion). That's the willingness to pay more for the better card, especially considering this might be the last gaming video card some people might be able to purchase in their lives.Plenty of Radeon card owners have been panic buying these RTX 50 cards because they don't want want to be stuck with a Radeon video card for the rest of their lives.

I don't blame them because Radeon attracts poorfags who weren't willing to pay $800 for a 9070 XT.Those TSMC wafers are better spent on creating higher-margin server chiplets.AMD is literally letting NVIDIA have this market because they're prioritizing more profitable segments.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqKJN7MGZGQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvZfCP4DwGs
>>108310485That doesn't change the question: what's the best GPU for me? Pure Rock Pro 3 and Dark Rock Elite are kind of mediocre because you pay mostly for the fancy tooling and plastic extras. Same on the SW4, look how much money you have to spend because of the extra shit.
No RDNA4 officially flopped and did worse than RDNA3 >>108310684 , at least RDNA3 was competitive in term of raster when they cut the prices, RDNA4 is overpriced and in the era of upscaling the best AMD gpu the 9070 XT provides around 4070 TI in terms of performance when you match image quality because of how superior DLSS 4.5 to FSR 4, then you have the fact that Reflex is so much more avaliable than Anti-lag 2 and the usual experience is worse because of it as modern games require antilag or reflex to have playable latency on the era of unreal slop in which not even the 5090 breaks 120fps at 1440p
>>108310683>shill for a companyJust make better products. My most commonly recommended video cards in /pcbg/ last year were the 9060 XT 16 GB & the $650 9070 XT Red Devil.I don't have brand allegiances. Just make better products & competitive prices.

>>108310570>game developers get paid by Nvidia to have latest DLSS on day 1 or get updated to an even newer version later while only having fsr2>these same game developers shit all over optimization by just letting lumen, nanite, and dlss+taa do the work for them resulting in an unoptimized dumpster fire with garbage visuals for anyone not using Nvidia>"everyone is moving on from Nvidia guess AMD just sucks lol?"I hate these industry kikes like you wouldn't believe. AMD will never catch up to Nvidia in the "race" because the race doesn't fucking exist. It's a fabricated psyop by the industry pushed by lying review influencers in order to brainwash the sheeple into being Nvidia drones. And the worst part is even if you know it's happening you have to bend the knee if you want to play certain games and them not looking worse than a Dx11 MSAA game from 2013 and running like shit. Nvidia has years of headstart in this "race" on research and development because they are the ones who engineered this abandonment of MSAA and lighting optimization scheme to make developers lazy and retarded so they can just "fix the issues" with their AI shitting hardware. It's all just a big fucking joke. Without developers being the laziest pieces of shit and doing their bidding and UE licking their boots Nvidia would be on par with AMD in graphics. I mean look at Arc Raiders, that game didn't use the UE lighting slop nor did it purposefully go lazy as hell in their optimization and AA and the game both runs great and looks great in either hardware. I can run that game at 60fps on 8 year old AMD gpu/cpu.
guys, i found a guy that sells cmp 30hx mining gpus for around $30, i was considering buying one to have just in case i need it for a secondary setup or an emergency, are they even worth it? there's only 10yo used gpus for that price where i live
>>108310704AMD didn't ship as many RX 9000 GPUs as they've claimed, because the 9070 XT chips were meant to be sold at closer to $700~800.If the product isn't as profitable as AMD projected, they needed to cut supplies and make something more profitable with those TSMC wafers. They didn't want another repeat of the deeply discounted RDNA3 shitshow.
btw mlid said yesterday that the xbox equivalent rdna5 gpu die is planned to be sold for $550 and it's the 70 series, so it'll have 2 brackets above itso the exact, literally the same, gpu that is in the xbox helix will be $550 mid 2027, I assume it's going to be a good card because games get tuned to perform on consoles so it being the same hardware from the most powerful console in the generation will be a very interesting advantage
>>10831075160fps at 1440p mind you*
>>108310751Dont worry after the consoels flops and radeon loses their contracts they will exit the gpu market, right now Radeon R&D is all paid by sony so they even get superior PSSR whiel you get stuck with fsr 3
>>108310751It's Nvidia's market. AMD is only allowed to exist to prop up the illusion of competition
https://www.youtube.com/live/VQxBW7JgkHwsome interesting topics>Xbox Helix will use the equivalent of the 9070 RDNA5 version, should be a 40-48GB APU PC, can be anywhere from $900-1500>PS6 will use 24-30GB on the handheld, 30-40GB on the console>next gen is all about ray tracing, and maybe integrating AI into games for more realistic NPCs>Sony won't port new games because only high-end cards will be able to play the games because of prior pointI think the most notable thing is that only the 4090 and 5090 will be able to play next-gen AAA games, so all the people buying 16GB to "future-proof" are going to be really disappointed. the 7900XTX has VRAM, but doesn't have any ray tracing hardware so it won't age as gracefully. they're doing a huge bump to RAM next-gen and all of our cards are going to suck for the new games.

>>108310518I thought OpenAI was going to go out of business, but they just got a government bailout in that contract to replace Anthropic.
>>108310767I think RDNA4 were just bad products, anyone that is paying up to $600 for a single piece of hardware has the means to pay $150 for the superior products, .AMD had nothing on the $200 bracket which is how they lost 1% marketshare to intel when b580 finally got volume
>>108310804>give you free mounting kits in case the sockets change for freeintel problems
>>108310637I wonder if this is because of their ARM APU that's been delayed 2+ years, or if they expect a lot more people to be open to Linux due to Valve's effort, and Microsoft's lack of effort.
>>108310782>According to Moore's Law is Dead, in some documents in their possession, AMD is targeting $550 for its successor to the 9070 XT GPU that will use the same chiplet as the Magnus APU. Adding in the cost of the CPU die and RAM, if Microsoft were to sell the system at cost, Project Helix could be priced as low as $999 through aggressive pricing that foregoes profits. However, it is unlikely this will happen, so the system's price is more likely to be in the $1000 range, unlikely to exceed $1500.550 msrp would be really cool but honestly I don't believe that price
>>108310777you fucking brand fanboys are so retarded. if radeon dies then nvidia gets to charge even more for their already-overpriced GPUs. FUCK that
>>108310700Because they don't want to compete against the Phantom Spirit, that's called a race to the bottom.Noctua would rather develop an AIO and cannibalize some of their air cooling market than make low margin alternatives to muh Thermalrights.Noctua isn't trying to make coolers & fans for everyone, they want price inelastic customers. At the end of the day, this is all business. Not every company has to cater to frugal people.
does anyone make a decent eGPU enclosure for a GPU that you supply? or do I have to DIY it? if so, has anyone seen a decent guide on doing so?
>>108310834if Radeon dies then we can finally move on from ancient raster solutions and the industry can move forward with a unified graphics solution which btw AMD has holding back for years, we could have had an unified streamline API for upscaling from yaers and AMD got invited but they said NO so intel and nvidia now share most of the future tech while AMD has their own propietary solutions to streamline motion vectors
>>108310768you can interpret that as the 10600, since the way things typically go, the 70 current is 60 next.
>>108310834That's why I recommended people to buy the $650 Red Devil 9070 XT, it's AMD who's refusing to flood the market with cheaper GPUs because they're prioritizing higher margin products.AMD's also in a much weaker negotiating position when it comes to sourcing GDDR chips.NVIDIA can get GDDR7 VRAM cheaper than Radeon's GDDR6 orders.
>General about building PCs>Look inside>GPU brand war autism

I'm probably going to buy a rnda5 card in 2028 6 months to 1 year after launch when the prices actually hit msrp and then give my 9070 xt to my brother who's using a 6650xt
>>108310751this is largely overlooked, Nvidia does the work of implementing DLSS for these studios, AMD isn't large enough to be able to help every studio do this.but AMD needs to allow FSR4 on RDNA2/3. Nvidia allows new DLSS on older cards even though it performs worse.
>>108310915AMD is not doing ANY work with fsr implementation, it's almost like they just want to upload a sdk on github and tell developers to do it themselvesat least we have optiscaler to do that work on older titles

>>108310934I don't say this to be mean, but the honest truth is that "Radeon isn't cool" and next to nobody wants them even with a massive price advantage over Nvidia. AMD's comfortable with the status quo and hasn't sought to break it

Can anyone explain to me what "thermal shock" is. I get it in theory, but is it actually something modern PC parts should worry about?I'm trying to figure out if I should turn off my PC at night, or just let it run.I've seen people say the mechanical parts like fans parts most at risk from always leaving your PC on. And that turning on/off daily can cause "thermal shock" for the GPU and CPU.Is any of this worth worrying about?
>>108311544>>108311613tldr on the gtx 970 3.5gb retardation?
>>108311631>I'm trying to figure out if I should turn off my PC at night, or just let it run. What OS are you using?Thermal shock is not a problem for your PC as you describe. For years now I just leave it to sleep by itself, never really turn off the power unless I think there is a problem with power (e.g., heavy storms that might cause power problems for the house).
>>108311631it's more taxing to turn it on than to leave it on.
>>108311632>tldr on the gtx 970 3.5gb retardation?
>>108311631not really. the idea is that a big die is going to expand by lets say 0.1% with an increase of 50°C. the bigger it is the bigger in mm it is going to become while still being 0.1%. this would put more stress on everything that is connected to it because it wouldn't expand at the same rate. your hardware is going to be at room temp if you turn it on and whatever idle temp + temp for when you actually use it. so a very wide range. cpus dies are usually not that big. gpu dies are. same goes for the memory really since they are also connected via those balls to the pcb. if you want to keep your hardware very very very long. just keep it on with good cooling. if you actually going to sell. it won't matter.

>>108311631>>108311671Booting up the PC is one of the most stressful moments. Everything gets whacked with high voltage and the BIOS has to correct everything back to normal. My 5060 just crashed again in RE:9 so done with this shit
>>108314118what's the point?

>Nvidiots can't even update anymore and have to stay on year old drivers because the latest is a 50/50 gamble that the ChatGPT code black screens your monitor

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-second-fsr-redstone-game-crimson-desert>Cuckwell owners when Crimson Desert has no DLSS Ray Reconstruction only FSR Ray Regeneration so their $3000 dollar 5090 is a worse experience than a $600 9070 XT on the Game of The Year
>>108314459>Crimson Desertjust gonna wait for it to get patched and go on sale while I keep playing the game of the decade.

Nicotranny go get a job at Tim Hortons
>>108314535I am a straight white male and I will never be a woman.not sure what your obsession with trannies is.
>>108314543It's okay TransForce xister you can be xirself here. This is Nvidia PC Building General. You're safe from those transphobic radeon bigots here.
Why is EVERYTHING for PCs so expensive?I know it's worth getting one of these things, but still. I don't want to drop another $100+ on this hobby.
>>108314548this is sad bro. get a real hobby.
>>108314552Get the first result. It's sinewave. Also, that has been the same price since I bought mine in August 2025. $239 pre tax
>>108314569Fuck that, I'm just going to make my own with a pack of AAA batteries from the grocery store.
>>108314552Because its a middle class thing and always have been. If you're not making like 100K a year you're just not the target demo for a lot of PC related stuff. Back in the day people used to drop a grand or two just to upgrade the soundcard so their games made nicer sounding bleeps and bloops.
>>108314595Nigga what are you on about. I built a whole new AM5 PC late last year with a 9800x3d and x870e mobo + just got a 360hz qd oled all with money from a casual job doing like 2 shifts a week maybe 3 max. You just have to be employed to get into pc gaming, it's not that much money.
>>108314646a full time job in 3rd world countries earn you like $200-$1000
>>108314650Yeah, but 3rd world shitholes have no laws. So you can just go steal stuff from the store and nothing will happen.
>>108314134>no rt/pt LOL whats the point?
Factory refurbished for $150Normal price is around $290Should I get it?Only 3 hours left on the deal.
>>108314926Cyberpower has a referb store on ebay you can check out. I found really good deals on there before.
>>108314947Maybe I will.I realize now that this >>108314926 is an older unit. So not actually that worth it.
>>108314668Many 3rd world countries have way harsher punishments than 1st world countries m8
>>108314926Cyberpower is pretty good. I've been using an older model for over a decade. Recently bought one of the models from Woot as well. It says refurbished but it really looks brand new. I have a feeling someone returned it because a piece of silicone broke off and was rattling inside.I bought the "gamer" model because it has pure sine wave instead of simulated.
