I finally took my ass to a store and got a good look at 27" 4K vs 32" 4K. I'm going 27" 4K. The text clarity and overall better image clarity was not a meme at all. It was a quite significant difference to me. They also had 27" 1440p up what I'm on now and shit was worlds apart. And also, size wise, 32" didn't seem like that big of a jump compared to 27". On paper it's 40% more screen space but it didn't really feel that much worth it, especially for the cost, they slap on an extra $300 to get to that size and then you are just in TV range price wise, pretty decent ones too. Like a 42" C5 is a similar price to the 32" monitors. A TV would have worse clarity but then that's like 42" which kind of makes up for it just because you have so much more space in your face than over 32". I didn't know if 4K 27" was a meme or not, I had a 4K 13" work laptop, that shit was ngl horrible, I thought 32" would be minimum to make it work, but 4K27 looked pretty perfect to me, I can see why they're moving to 5K/1440p displays now. I never put much stock into pixel density but I'm seeing it counts for a lot now. You should go see for yourselves if you can these youtube videos just don't get the point across.

Only mods can do that, and it's not a good idea to completely disable TAA this way.
New games render hair, fur, glass, etc. using a “checkerboard” pattern and TAA is needed to smear those dots together.
TAA is also needed to reconstruct lower resolution volumetric clouds.

So, after doing my research, I am kind of stuck. RAM and SSD prices are horrible. Plus, if I did go with the first approach, I don't know if it would be the *best* option. There is really no such thing as best, but I want to make sure I am getting something that will last me and be able to do the work I need it to do. Should I just wait at this point, anons? But if I do wait, how long will I even be waiting? RAM and SSD prices are going to take years to go down, and even after that I still have to pick parts and everything, which is very tedious since I have a set budget in mind.

Also, before anybody says that the $400 budget is not enough, I am not buying a steam deck or console. I want to buy the desktop tower so it can be a workhorse and do work, not gaming, which is why I most likely don't plan on getting a GPU unless the CPU doesn't have iGPU.

no you foreskin-deficient retard, just no. I'm refuting once again, the Njudean mindslave retards ITT who seethe whenever fair-minded creators like Gamersnexus+hardware unboxed criticise the most anti-consumer megacorp in PC tech, Njudea, for their shenanigans.

Shows your ignorance. Those options are merely replacing the game's TAA algorithm with the upscaler's proprietary TAA algorithm.
>Aside from TAA, modern games also comes with upscaling techniques, which has it's own version of TAA anti-aliasing, but also improves performance by reducing the game resolutions and makes smaller resolution image appear sharper through the use of image upscaling algorithms
The Glacier Engine's TAA is just dogshit compared to the AI trained models released by GPU designers.

There's older Arctic P12 and P14 fans with a few design flaws that were addressed with the Pro versions, mostly the resonance (humming) issues.
These Pro fans can also run at a higher RPMs, but it's not a practical feature because of the higher noise levels.

There's no "Off" option in most of these titles retard.
When you switch from TAA to DLSS/DLAA/FSR, you are changing the TAA algorithm from UE5/ game dev proprietary one to the GPU vendors'.
This is why people wanted an RDR2 update with DLSS 3/4 support, which happened after NVIDIA officially supported DLSS model swaps.
Quit being an embarrassment to yourself, go kys already.

So you don't know how to set it up properly.
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/418E-7A04-B0DA-9032

If the game doesn't support Reflex (or Anti-Lag 2 for Radeon cards), you need to manually set an FPS limit.
The FPS cap formula that NVIDIA Reflex applies is:
>Refresh - (Refresh x Refresh / 4096) = FPS Cap
Where "Refresh" = your monitor's maximum refresh rate.
If you have a 240 Hz monitor, the FPS cap would be 225~226 FPS.

>>
>>108342502
Most likely a dead board or CPU.
If your motherboard has a CPU & memory-less BIOS update feature (BIOS Flashback, Q-Flash Plus, etc.), use this feature to check if the board is working.
Remove the CPU & memory from the board first.
You need to read the board manual or check YouTube videos on how to use this BIOS update feature.

Set the pump running at maximum speed for an hour or so, and gently tilt your case back and forth until you notice the gurgling noise has been reduced (take maybe one or two minutes tilting the case).

>your guys mouse
Your context was with VRR enabled.
The only way VRR makes your mouse movement feel laggier is when you don't properly set an FPS limit to minimize your system latency.
Use VRR correctly with a frame rate limit (manually or Reflex/Anti Lag 2 if supported), and there shouldn't be an increase in system latency to make your mouse movements feel more sluggish.

NVIDIA's performance overlay can report render latency, system latency, and mouse latency to convince retards like you that these features work fine.
Think like a human, not like a jit.

Why though? Just save a little more and at least get yourself something nice. I say this because my current rig is using a 3700x and 5700xt and I hate it. I hate not being able to play so many games.

Yeah, but I don't actually run it that way. I was testing the "What fan speed can I set it as to not hear it, and what thermals do that result in" and the answer is 88C, apparently.
The gap between 420mm, 360mm and 280mm isn't that big, but ther is some. The bigger bottleneck in thermals is AMD's IHS design, the pump and coldplate arrangement and just liquid flow rate from the CPU block itself.

I want to play Stellar Blade and it's sequel, Granblue Relink, Monster Hunter and some other jrpgs (maybe Crimson Desert too) at 1440p. Is a 5070TI really worth the additional $250 over the 9070XT?

5070TI is $960, 9070XT is $710. I hear DLSS is just a lot better than FSR4 on top of DLSS being widely supported while with FSR4 you have to use optiscaler?

yep, Id never buy amd myself

jrpgs are easy to run have you looked at any benchmarks on yt. you can get 120fps on stellar blade at 1440p with a 5060ti/9060xt. the only hard game to run in wilds but thats cos re engine is dogshit for open world games. 5070ti is way too overkill

In one game GPU behaves pretty strangely. Basically it loads GPU only for 60-70% but temp goes above 80. But in other games load can be 80-90% but temp is 75 at worst.
What can cause it?

5070 Ti isn't worth the $250 premium, that's questionable even with the higher end models like a Strix or a Vanguard.
If you really want DLSS and don't want to deal with optiscaler, that's the price.

if thats accurate at all it would mean a game is cpu bound
the sensors obviously tell the fans to run at max rpm to cool it down after some x temp threshold for both games, but the lower util gpu has to eat more watts doing so
maybe it boosts clocks higher or something when the cpu is bottlenecking and theres idleness going on in the cores, idk

In the first case CPU load is 15%
In another game CPU load is 35-45%

cpu util tracker is very misleading since the game can only utilize 1 main thread and have a poor optimization for that 1 thread out of 16

most games dont have high % and it dont tell you if the game has cpu bottlenecks, you need to test with different cpus and see if fps goes up

I have a problem anons. I have plugged my HDMI to the iGPU while having a dGPU for playing games. The problem is, my PC insist on setting the iGPU as GPU1, so when I launch a game it uses the wrong graphic card. I have tried using the device manager to disable the dGPU, and my iGPU is set to GPU0, but as soon as I restart, the iGPU is set to GPU1 again.

you only have cpu bottlenecks at the extreme bottom end (which nothing is that low tier anymore), or at high fps. you can't get high fps outside 1080p.

So basically I just need to go with Display Port if I want to make the best use of this card.
>>
>>108347333
dp is standard for monitors, often pc monitors dont support vrr over hdmi

then again many monitors use dp 1.4 ports and they rely on dsc to reach 4k 240hz

I actually hate all this.

So this is my monitor.
https://rog.asus.com/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-oled-xg32ucds/spec/
>DisplayPort 1.4 DSC

And this is my GPU.
https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/graphics-cards/prime/prime-rtx5070ti-16g/techspec/
>Native DisplayPort 2.1b

So basically it doesn't matter at all if I get a cable higher than DisplayPort 1.4, because the monitor can't read faster than that anyway. Even if my GPU can output more.
>>
>>108347430
If you're looking for HDMI 2.2 cables, you'll have better luck using the keyword "ultra96"
https://www.hdmi.org/spec2sub/ultrahdmicables
UHBR20 if you want the latest DisplayPort cable.
https://www.displayport.org/

It's all a shit show.
>>
>>108347430
you can just use the cable that came with the monitor
>>
is there a fanless gpu I can put in my jellyfin server that'll handle all transcoding without needing fans
>>
>>108347461
>It's all a shit show.
I can see that. I hate how everything is mismatched and piecemealed together.

But it looks like my best option is to go with Display Port.
So I need to find a good DisplayPort 2.1b cable.

>>108347495
I need a longer one.
>>
>>108347510
yeah an intel with an igpu
>>
>>108347430
Yes you need a DP 2.1 Monitor and DP 2.1 automatically adds $300 to whatever monitor you buy for no reason

You have to use HDMI if you want no DSC at 4K120Hz
>>
>>108347511
>So I need to find a good DisplayPort 2.1b cable.
This is overkill for your monitor.
If you upgrade your monitor, they will include a compatible UHBR20 cable if the display needs it.
Some people say the UHBR20 cables bundled with new high refresh rate 4K monitors are on the shorter side though.
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/msi-mpg-322urx-qd-oled/2.html

Focus on the rated maximum speed like 80Gbps for UHBR20 and 48Gbps for HDMI.
Ultra96 cables aren't readily available or needed by most people, they debuted @ CES 2026.

This stuff is all so much of a hassle, and so confusing.

There is like no price difference between an the cables or types.

But my monitor is 165Hz, and 4k.
So HDMI 2.1b caps at 120hz 4k.
Meaning, my best option would be DisplayPort 2.1b, even if it's overkill for the monitor, it at least supports 165Hz 4k to max out the monitor's stats.
