I think what is significant is that DLSS is not some amazing new technology but is just generative images overlayed over 3d models frame by frame. Nvidia just happens to make hardware that these models run well on. I really don’t want to buy a gpu for image generation though, I’m buying it to compute shit in a video game. I get that this tech can drive sales by dazzling people but it is a different technology. And I would like developers do design games well instead of just making stick figures for dlss to add detail to.
