I'm gonna miss this insanity when the bubble pops. The other day I got an email "about your Claude usage ...." and I almost threw up. I thought they finally wised up to the fact that I've been running this thing 16h a day working on my personal projects and side gigs. Turns out they were just congratulating me for being one of the highest users in the company. I couldn't believe it. I use opus all day to learn and make anything I want to learn or make, I literally fill up the rolling 4h enterprise window every day all day. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to use that 4h window. I just dump a bunch of code and ask it to do some refractor or whatever brute force work I need to be done

if your employer has an enterprise seat setup for you (e.g through your work email) then yea they can see everything. It's why I don't use it for side projects, never swear at it, don't ask it obvious shit so they can use it as justification to fire me etc.
>>
>>108440054
>don't ask it obvious shit so they can use it as justification to fire me
this is going too far
any single prompt is like a google search, nothing unlike any other employee's search history, and you did nothing wrong anyway for them to fire you over
besides, if they want to fire you for any reason, they can and will do that anyway and I'm certain those prompts alone won't ever be the actual reason
>never swear at it
you should never do this anyway
you should say please when prompting a request, and thanks when you're switching to a new task in the same thread
at worst it's to ensure the clankers kill you last (or not at all)
at best it's to keep yourself humble, friendly, and likeable

>>
>>108440221
sure they can manufacture reasons to fire me, I just meant I would never ask it something like "what is a pointer in C", or "what does std::move mean". But I've been working professionally for 8 years now so I don't ask the clanker questions like this, just tell it what to implement and how and it works. My advice was more for people starting out in their career.

every company I talk to is looking for someone who is really familiar with the gen AI coding practices. they want someone who's going to set up complex agent pipelines and spread that culture around the company and make everyone more efficient.

I've been using Claude code. I use it in plan mode, I make claude.md files for style purposes, sure like whatever it's good. but I don't know about this crazy complicated git-based multi agent workflow shit that everyone seems to want. i need to figure out what this looks like and then build it, because it's the future and every single company wants it.

any of you guys doing this? point me in the right direction?

At my job we setup an agent to automatically respond to alerts by letting it write and run its own telemetry queries, look at our internal documentation, look at code, etc, and then write up some bullshit. It's effective some of the time, but a lot of our documentation is poor so it's really our fault. We also use the LLM APIs directly and had to write our own tools which is a pain.
Just ask claude to help.

the incentive is that you have a desirable country. Jeets and nogs will literally always want to come in as long as their country is a shit hole because back in haiti they get eaten alive by barbecue the warlord. The solution isn't to destroy the fabric of your country.

>Jews created communism/socialism to kill white people what else is there to understand anon.
communism isn't socialism, america is already a socialist country except its for the benefit of jews, nigs, women, and boomers.
>>

They're not coming because they want to, they're coming because we let them
And we let them because our ruling capitalist class needs cheap labour to clean toilets, pick fruits and drive wages down

>>

Then why bother increasing socialists benefits that don't benefit whites even though there the tax burden is mostly on whites that work high paying jobs. Obviously there are steps to a process of change. Do you want to go balls to the walls and do everything overnight or remove incentives now and put the ball rolling forward to the goals you wish to achieve?

correct
what else would you call it when trump gets into office, gives palantir and all of his jewish friends billion dollar contracts to make AI and drones that don't work? or when he manipulates the stock market with a few tweets every month and mysteriously people are making millions in minutes off trading bitcoin and oil and polymarket with insider knowledge?
or when a black mother of 7 niglets gets infinite free foodstamps to buy lobster and steak?
or when trump wages war on the federal reserve and ousts the chair because powell refused to lower rates and prop up the inflated housing market?
This country is a fucking joke and serves every single interest group except white zoomer males. "Socialism" isn't the problem. I actually don't want to live in a country where I go thousands into medical debt over a broken bone, or there's no first time homeowner benefits and im forced to compete for mcshitshacks against 90 year old boomer vampires, or where if I lose my job because some 45 year old piece of shit decided to offshore my project to india I can't get unemployment.
We have a million problems, and "socialism" is near the very bottom.

bros, does anyone have any insight on University of Washington's hybrid MBA program? I'm thinking about going for it and can go into a lot of detail on why, except on what I expect to get out of it. lol. The gist of it:

>Am mathematically retarded, effectively locking me out of real STEM degrees
>Already have master's of cybersecurity so the only pseudo-STEM degrees I'm interested in would be sort of redundant
>Hear you can't go wrong with an MBA (might get me some people skills too, idk)

Most of my coworkers do not even use agents, they just chat with something like ChatGPT dot com. And even when they do use AI agents, it is usually some free version, like GPT-4.1 not even Claude Code Opus 4.6. They don't know what is Agents.MD. The level of AI literacy in Europe is so low, lol.

And you're telling me you just let it go to town crufting together things on its own for hours? Lol

>What is your original degree?
My bachelor's degree? Cloud computing. Both my degrees are from WGU (lol), which I do not feel shame in, but I do want a degree from a real school at some point.
>What job are you looking for?
Pretty much anything computers besides programming. I consider most of cyber security to be a bunch of bullshit (the meaningful and interesting stuff being out of my current skill level), but it's my most recent experience and what my resume's geared toward. I like networking but I haven't done it in years, I've definitely forgotten more than I currently know. I like general IT stuff like sysadmin and shit, but everything's so specialized now those roles hardly seem to exist anymore.
Of course MBAs are meant for management, which I'm not particularly interested in, but hey I can't get hired for the stuff I'm good at so maybe I'll fall upward through the cracks and end up a soulless middle manager somewhere constantly fucking up everyone's Jira boards.

>>108443680
I dropped out of a computer science bachelor's about ten thousand years ago and have been scared of it ever since. But that's fine because I've realized I like the concept of programming far more than I like actually programming.
But speaking of online degrees, one thing that interests me so much about the hybrid MBA program is the MHA/BAH for it. Online MHA is currently $1,169 a month, which sucks. But despite the program being almost entirely online, because they meet in person for like a week at the start of every quarter, (I'm pretty sure) it pays full Seattle MHA, meaning $3,135 a month. So I'm thinking:
>Live in current place
>Fly to Seattle
>Crash at uncle/cousin/homie's place for a week or so
>Attend classes
>Fly home
>Laugh at the VA paying me MHA for a city I don't live in (granted my current city isn't waaayyy cheaper than Seattle, but it is noticeably cheaper)
>Repeat three times a year (you'd think there would be four quarters a year, not three)

anything, I just don't believe in this agent BS. Claude code takes ages putting shit in and out of context acting exactly like a dementia patient due to that.

On the web I know exactly what's in context and I just ask it to rewrite shit from scratch every time. Costs me almost no token window usage because it's cached output

>what are you writing
I just like to experiment with ideas before committing to them. For example I was wondering if plugging zig into a high performance cpp math framework and rewriting some functions with it would yield results as good as the hand rolled assembly (answer was no). I did tell it exactly how to write the code but I don't have the mental energy to type it out manually. I also run some SaaS stuff on the side and it has helped me with multiple refractors.

Every time I get an idea about a refractor I just lay it out very specifically and it spits that shit out. I love refractors, I think companies should incorporate my insano style workflow more often where I have super robust e2e testing and then I just fucking rewrite everything whenever I find better more elegant/safe/concise patterns. I am the refractooorer.

Often I read some engineering blog post about a pattern that's useful in a specific context, I ask it to rewrite some code using that pattern. It's really just a quick exploration tool for me, trying to actually use it for architecture or creativity is catastrophic. This is the actual way to use this tool and every other way it has been used is wrong.

>Takes ages putting shit in and out of context
Maybe it's your system? I'm on a recent PC and Claude takes like 3-4 minutes max when I ask it to do something complicated. Usually it's < 60s.

>I don't believe in agent BS
Fair. Claude code is the only agent I've used that seems to actually find the relevant context. All I have to do is @ the relevant sub-directory I'm working in before I ask it the question. Most other agents fuck up. I think having *A* agent is fine, but this whole multiple agents running simultaneously and orchestrating each other is a house of cards and bs.

>token window usage
My company pays for the $200/mo seat so this hasn't really been an issue for me. I wouldn't pay for it out of pocket.

When I stopped trying to get the llms to implement entire features autonomously and instead used it to produce snippets that I put together on my own I started getting way better results.

Diploma mills get jobs. Besides no one gets more than a bachelors or a masters. Also the main places you get PhD's and Doctorates still accept diploma mill masters degrees.

Are you fucking serious you work in IT degrees open doors but certifications and job experience actually get you the job. Get some certs since you are jobless before you even consider a masters degree. If a company pays for degrees then get a masters obviously.

how do I even explain to HR and Background check jeets on this

>My college is mixing up between CS and IT courses
>back then everyone commonly called my degree as “ComSci”
>even my professors (they’re gone) recommended me to put my degree on CV as ComSci
>Applied for job, yada yada all good
>until the background check
>BG check jeets keeps asking for “ComSci” Transcript
>Realized that my transcript said I am graduated as IT
>They’re also restructuring the courses to be separate between CS and IT clearly just after I left college

people with experience and a real degree are having an extremely difficult time cold applying. if you have little to no experience, diploma mills are not getting jobs outside of networking, inhouse hiring, or government hiring.
any anons thinking this is a viable path to take at a time like this arent being serious. this is the type of shit that kids who grew up upper-middle class do when theres no stakes because mommy and daddy will save them from financial ruin.

the only possibly benefit is that they cost a fraction of normal university. so in the overwhelmingly likely event you get no job in the field, at least you aren't saddled with crippling debt. a lot of people are getting crippling debt without a career. not a great spot to be in.

Well at first it was just IT degree or smth like that, then got convinced by professors and most of us said that it was ComSci as that time the college doesn’t exactly have “ComSci” degree and just mixing shit up, I was actually confused back then as well on why the hell I have to learn Java for like 4 courses and then SQL stuffs then mathes and reasoning courses and so on.

it was thrid world shitter college bro, they kept changing and phasing out degrees all the time and I don’t even know if my HR understands my situation but the First Adventage jeets probably won’t.

Still on my transcript it shows a lot of CS coding courses and data science courses mixing with Network and Management courses so I hope they will at least have some empathy on me

Join the military or go be a mechanic. I aint got much advice for you if your diploma doesn't have any idea of what a Degree even is. Of which i am stating not the classes you took in the transcript but what the degree actually is when you are finished. IE when you are finished is it some Information Technology Administration degree or is it Computer Science.

i should note the exception to what im saying is government hiring, or any other group where reality, budgets, and performance are all decoupled. its probably a great idea if you are limited on time and need to fill a checkbox, and you already have a boatload of experience.
otherwise, enrolling in a scam degree like that is bottom-of-the-barrel sucker. getting a comp sci degree of any sort in this market is a good sign that you are a sucker to begin with.
>>
>>108445245
it’s Information Technology when I pulled my transcript. I am gonna asking my university again for diploma but it’s also probably IT as well. Still even then how am I going to explain to HR and the jeets or just accept it at this point.

>>108445283
HR spends 30 seconds on a resume anon. No one really checks that shit. On top of that Coursera/Edx can fill in alot of the gaps for formal education if you are lacking. Books/Textbooks can pull alot of that weight and if you are technical then labs or projects will fill in the rest just fine.

i have iron blooded orphans and the witch from mercury downloaded. tbdesu tho i just like armored core's hired mercenary approach more than gundam's space war thing. i liked thunderbolt though. the child soldiers being a metaphor for how the future is in the hands of the youth (and in that movie/series, that trope is sorta subverted or at least not as much of a positive) is pretty cool.
>>
>>108445316
and if in that 30 seconds they skim your education section and see you have a diploma mill degree? this also assumes your resume is even making it past the ai screening.

getting a fake degree in this market is suicide. you need to get ahead in this market. doing that is the worst option and it puts you behind. if you got a job via cold apply and no experience it would be nothing short of a miracle.

I think I might actually be the best engineer at my company (small team, 10 engineers)

Me:
>My code runs on the most # of machines (frontend javascript library, runs on a few hundred thousands unique visits per month), yet has the fewest number of bug reports
>I am the one identifying and fixing other peoples' bugs, and never vice-versa
>Only time we ever release a major version of one of our projects without any issues is when it's my projects
>My backend services have the longest uptime of any pods in our k8s cluster
>Sql queries are tight and optimized
>Never use AI

My coworkers:
>Use Claude Code for maybe 80% of their work
>Frequently introducing major breaking changes to our company platform
>Platform outage at least once a day even though we never have more than 100 concurrent users
>Frequently skip code review, or just allow claude to review code
>Making stupid mistakes, like entry level type coercion gotcha's in Javascript
>Sql queries take several minutes to execute
