ya this, cost of living is higher here on top of all the school loan debt. 3-5 years exp with a degree they have to pay us 60-80k for any city. Thats about 5k a month and rent is 1.5k for a average dump apartment. When my rent was $800 and I made 60k I felt like I was doing a little better than surviving but its wasnt anything to be excited about. Could pay bills and wasnt in horrendous debt. Had to work constantly though 50hrs a week minimum. Lucky to get any PTO, which would only be acquired after a year of work. Dam i think its about time to do a MBA. Should i degree mill it online?

I'm content with my job now which can only mean that the performance review next week will ruin my mood for the following weeks.

Had a rough tech screen interview in a different specialty than my own, interviewers were giggling and scoffing at some of my answers and at one point one of them just refused to interact with me anymore or answer any of my questions. This was for a well known fintech company if it matters.

Obviously I’m keeping it pushing but mostly curious how do the rest of you handle this in the moment? I just acted as if everything is fine but definitely wanted to just leave the call when I felt they were rude. Normally I find interviewers very kind and patient and helpful so this really stood out.

Well... I only answer questions that I actually know. I will confidently say "I don't know. Do you want me to guess?"
Now... assuming that you did that and still getting the giggling/scoffing I would say:
"Hey, I'm open to learning in an interview. I see that you find my answers amusing. So what is it? Am I misunderstanding you? Do you have some secret knowledge that you wish to share? Where can I learn more about this stuff?"
If somebody started to flat out ignore me then I'd say: "Hey, I can see you are ignoring me, you must be busy. Why don't you drop off the interview so I can finish up with [the person still responding]".

I always command respect but I am respectful while doing so. The last thing that I want to do is walk away from an interaction feeling regret that I allowed myself to be clowned.

Same. When I was younger I joined a company, the infrastructure was a complete mess. It was not my responsibility but I had to use it, so I raised the issues and fixed some things. But I did not notice that it angered some of the colleagues. After a while I realized it was on purpose to slow down the work and keep people employed for longer. So now I shut up and do the same. I suggest you do too.
