WHY WON'T MICROCENTER COME TO CANADA FFS SAVE US FROM BEST BUY AND NEWEGG AND ALL THE OTHER GREEDY FUCKERS
>>108638209it's ok, most of us in the states don't live close enough to one to enjoy their prices.
>>108638209I live in the United States and still have never been to a microcenter
>>108638209>>108638240The nearest microcenter is like a two hour drive. The savings aren't even worth the drive.
Any air filters I can add to my fans to filter dust and linen? The ones that came with the case don't filter enough.
>>108638273You missed out
>>108638321It's easier to just get an air compressor
>>108638321Try amazon or something. Get aluminum mesh for wet washable (more expensive than nylon) Just search for "dust filter 120x120" or whatever size you need. Compare fineness of mesh: details often mention aperture.
Do I have the "Passive Cooling eXtreme" or "Liquid Cooling eXtreme" variant of a pre-built PC? I mean, is it the latter version worth it?
>>108638375I got one but it's a pain in the ass to have to disassemble the whole thing every few weeks cause of all the linen I've got flying around so I'd rather just clean filters once a week.>>108638421Thanks, looks like nylon ones come with smaller aperture but I guess I'd have to clean them with something like a toothbrush.
>>108638527What does that even mean?
>>108638555>Do I haveI meant "Do I buy">is it the latter version worth itI meant "is the latter version worth it"

>>108638240My closest microcenter is in Chicago. I'm not driving 3 hours just to get mugged.
>>108638734I got mine for cheap in a local Yuro store, ~$15 in conversion.

when will my desires be met?I would also prefer not OLED.

the rate at which devs are starting to lean on ray tracing and even path tracing and not bothering with implementing proper raster lighting and shadows seems to be kind of outpacing actual adoption of hardware capable of running these technologies at a decent speed.

>>108639792allkeyshop or pirating is the way
CAPCOM uses a very light software based ray tracing mode which has minimal performance impact, while path tracing gives you the full retard bounced light shitshow.

>>108640414get the 2025 and put the 2024 outside
>>108639689At this rate it feels like Nvidia's """development assistance""" is all about making the games look and run like utter shit on anything that's not their newest and greatest.Keep in mind that path tracing is so demanding that you need like a 4090/5080 to have a decent experience on modern screens, so by making ray tracing look like dogshit on purpose you're neatly shitting on anyone owning 30 series GPU's or anyone owning lower end 40/50 series GPU's.>>108639689>Raster: lack of any and all traditional raster lighting techniques to make the game look dogshit on purpose>RT: only adding ambient occlusion to the raster so it still looks like shit, but the AO is more performance tanking while doing nothing for the graphics>PT: the actual intended implementation where Raster and RT were left in half-baked to create a false sense of path tracing being better than it actually isYou cannot convince me otherwise that this is what they did with RE9.

>>108639821Capcom have gone full retard balls deep in on path tracing. It's amazing how shit they've made ray tracing look, let alone rasterization which is worse than PS2 levels now since they don't bother doing any lighting curation for it at all.
>>108640718Pragmata was supposed to be an RE Engine showcase title, but it got delayed too long.It was probably targeting RTX 30 & RX 6000 hardware with 0 path tracing.

Been noticing backlight (?) flickering when framerate drops below about 80 fps and sometimes certain low-motion regions (UI and stuff) will have like a faded afterimage until the full screen refreshes with fast motion or something??Would it be worth buying something like >KTC M27T6 or will I really have to spend closer to >ASUS XG27AQWMGWhat should I do with the Dell G2724D in that case? My desk doesn't really have space for 2x 27" monitors.
>>108642144Same, but I managed to get a quieter PSU through RMA.I'm definitely focusing on a quieter PSU if I need to buy a new one next time.If you limit the options to a decently reviewed and Cybenetics Gold/Platinum rated PSU, fan noise matter more (+ ones with new 12V-2x6 protection features).

another reason to skip zen 6: right now in the server/ai space we're getting high capacity high speed DDR5/LPDDR5 in SOCAMM format for those nvidia servers, those technologies will very likely trickle down to zen 7 (2029) and become very cheap by 2031 when the industry moves to ddr6my plan is going from the 5800x3d to the 16 core 1 ccd zen 7 + 128gb of fast ram and that will last me until the last generation of the am6 socket

Even DLSS Performance (1080p on a 2160p screen) is usable on a high res screen. On low res screens you can't use it as aggressively because the rendering resolution drops too low and on top of that the screen has a worse image so the image just turns into mush.Keep in mind that at 1440p even DLSS Quality is like 960p, DLSS Performance on a 4k screen will get you superior image quality to that and if you want to run 1440p native then you can just use DLSS Quality on the 4k monitor instead. I don't think there's much reason nowadays to get a low res monitor, you'll suffer more from the low DPI and if you end up using DLSS at all it's going to be worse than the 4k screen for sure.>>108647254>I suspect it's a firmware/panel issue.Yeah could be, need to look up a decent review to see if the screen does proper brightness tracking in HDR. Minimal because the 2nd 3D memory cache is on the 2nd die in the CPU. Games don't really utilize all 8c16t as is let alone crossing over a CCX to utilize a secondary 8c16t node on the same CPU die. For professional uses like rendering and what not, it really depends on the software. Some love the 3D cache, others don't give a shit and actually favor Intel depending on settings. Wendell also cannot say that this is a bubble, because Supermicro and Nvidia won't like that so bye bye free trips to GDC and free hardware. So he had to make a really asinine stance by equalling it to "luddite panic" and "genuine concern" as the only two sides of the argument, kept talking about "AI hype" and never talking about "AI bubble", as well as peddling marketing terms like "AI factory" and "it's all producing the same exact tokens" which are just made up terms for "datacenters" and "same hardware running various workloads" that the AI companies made up to make it seem like a completely new paradigm in computing to investors.Basically Wendell reeks of "I need to dance like they tell me to even if it betrays my own beliefs and those of my audience" and it's fucking nauseating to listen to. He'd be better if he just shut the fuck up and stick to worked best instead of doing this shit, but alas, everything that's good must come down.Wendell sold out to being Nvidia's/Supermicro's mouthpiece and Steve sold out to the rabid anti-AI crowd, both losing a lot of credibility in the process. >>108647902AI use for the betterment of humanity? Space travel calculations, nuclear physics break throughs, cancer treatment digital protein folding algorithms? No no no, don't be silly. We need more AI slop videos and video game assets. We NEED soulless AI "art". We also need terrible AI "helpers" to replace all the office wagies
>>108647972You talk a lot of absolute shit and are completely obsessed with youtubers
>>108647975the glowniggers are inside your PC. It's all over.
>>108647972Dude he's an autistic nerd that thinks AI will make Star Trek real. Don't think to much into it.
>>108647976I do need my Microsoft Copilot.
The only good dark souls game has a pt mod
>>108647770>Minimal because the 2nd 3D memory cache is on the 2nd die in the CPUProbably, but it's kind of interesting. Obviously the extra cache being on the other CCD is worse than having it all together but I wonder whether there will be some scenarios where having game threads separated across CCDs to get more cache as opposed to all on 1 CCD but with more cache pressure and as such more actual memory reads (which are extremely slow).
>>108648102Does PT really make that much of a difference? This looks amazing.
>>108648102interesting that you used the only good looking screenshot and not any of the ones where it looks like the fucking sun is turned off despite it being daytime
>>108648180Yes. It can if the devs give a shit.
>>108648027idk, to me it sounds like he's either really gullible and tone deaf, or that he's doing the whole "appease our narrative so that you get freebies from us in the future" humiliation ritual.https://youtu.be/do-EyIFvQ1EWhatever it is, he didn't have to do it and is only ruining his reputation. Fucking downplaying Midgley of all things, what the fuck is he on?
>>108648208>it sounds like he's either really gullibleThat's Wendell. He's still believes in humanity. That's all you need to know.
>>108648220I guess. So gullible and optimistic he refuses to acknowledge the dirty side of the AI market. Which is also probably why he believes Midgley did nothing wrong. Too gullible to acknowledge the existence of evil. I both pity and envy his naivete.
>>108647902> I think he just really likes AIHe only likes the money he can make by selling hardware to AI junkies.
>>108648234Their other channel "Links with Friends" tells it all. He acts like a Galapagos tortoise being willingly picked up by sailors for a fun boat ride. It's amazing people can still have a small safe world viewpoint.
>>108647546you shouldn't be running hdr on the desktop but oled monitors don't get that bright full screen anywaybut I guess you can
>>108648264Like I said, I both pity and envy his naivete. He is very knowledgable when it comes to tech, a lot of his videos are very valuable and very informative, fucker knows more about tech than me, but man, it's a shame this autist has one of the worst traits of autism which is this blindness to evil. And at the same time it's a blessing since he cannot feel that mental torment of knowledge.
>>108647953Picrel has even 4 gen 5 pcie slots, requires many lanes that you only get from a Threadripper not a Ryzen CPU.
>>108646266get a blackwell 6000
>>108646377It's not really possible. You can't generate half a frame. Frame gen works by taking 2 real frames and then generating more fake frames in-between those. You either generate a frame or you don't, you can't generate half a frame and display half a frame on the screen, obviously. You could alternate and simply not generate anything half the time, which would result in 1.5x the FPS but this would result in extremely uneven frame pacing and would almost certainly suck complete ass due to the judder, it would not be smooth at all. That's why the multipliers are all integers, you generate one or several fake frames in-between 2 real frames.
>>108647546trust me don't get an oled. i've been through 3 oled tv's and those are the cutting edge of the technology, not even the monitors which are cut back shit compared to the tv tech, and there are so many compromises it's not worth it. banding, pixel shifter shit, auto turn off because of the pixel refresher shit, just shit brightness, burn in risk etc. get a mini led or just use a basic monitor till the tech in this space gets better.
>>108648356NTA but I'm not even that mad about the premium you need to pay for a TR system. It's that these chips inherently have worse single core performance and AMD doesn't make an alternative variant that has less, but more powerful cores, so that it's also viable for prosumer tasks like gaming and emulation. I'd love to have a workstation with multiple full-speed PCIe slots for multiple GPU's or beefy expansion cards like those crazy ConnectX networking cards that wouldn't sacrifice on the non-enterprise workloads. For home prosumers single core performance tends to be more important than multi-core performance.https://www.cpubenchmark.net/single-thread/If AMD managed to make TR cores as powerful as their Ryzen cores, then that'd be golden. 9950X3D has 16 cores, 9955WX has 16 cores, so if they released a 9950X3D equivalent for sTR5 it would've been golden. Most enthusiasts would be fine with this sort of entry level HEDT and the only reason we'd want a TR HEDT are those sweet sweet PCIe lanes.>>108648451It's best to call it what it is, real-time frame interpolation. It's just that machine learning and matrix algebra is what allowed us to finally make it a reality.
>>108647953There are some X670E and probably X870E boards which can run 2 slots at PCIe 5.0 x8. If you want full x16 slots then you need to buy Threadripper or some actual server shit.Back in the day we used to have consumer mobos for mainstream platforms which came with extra PCIe switches to provide multiple x16 slots (of course with the bottleneck on the CPU's number of lanes still in place), but nowadays we don't even get that anymore.
>>108648102So AMD can't even run these mods?
So IPS monitors tiring me out faster than TN monitors isn’t just a schizo observation?
>>108648523Bruh the eye strain/fatigue rabbithole have like 1000000 variables it's not just about ips or notToo tired to get into it but blurbusters forum and all the schizos there if you truly wanna unlock that autism shitIt can also be your eye sight actually being fucked
>>108648454>many compromises it's not worth it. >bandingDon't buy woled, problem solved >pixel shifter shitEvery tv has the option for offGood monitors doProblem also solved >auto turn off because of the pixel refresher shitNo TV behaves like that, shit monitors do, avoid themAnother problem solved >Just shit brightnessTvs 400-500 nits sdr, 2400 nits hdr+ better than miniled in real scenesMonitors way less sure, 300 nits, I mean I did not think the 250nit qdoleds were not bright enough But yes hdr on them were kinda eh, buy a TV for that >burn in risk etc.Yeah just look at some other garbage that is pure ass instead because of one copeOLED was never for you thenI think pixel structure, vrr flicker, OLED flicker, sub pixels are worse than any of thoseIf you buy a tv you have to buy OLED, for monitor maybe not, but everything else is shit tooAnywayWhat exactly were your problems with OLED tvs?
